The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

She's so pretty! I've always wanted freckles.

And what a handsome little man.

Thank you! :goodvibes DD gets the freckles from her daddy.

It definitely shows what hams they are!

Believe me DL's 55th will be big and DCA's complete remodel will be nearly done...

DL's 55th and Chelsea's 13th -- both on July 17th -- I think it is meant to be!

When I was explaining DCA to Charles, I could tell he was thinking about it. The prospect of thrill rides might be the winning factor.

Love the pics of your kids, especially the one in front of the hearse. The Haunted Mansion is one of my favs too. My nephew loves it. He kepts saying "Let's go back to the Smooky House" He can't say spooky :rotfl:

I'm also with you with rollercoasters. I am not a fan. I thought I was the only one sweating before Barnstormer. I'm glad I'm not alone.

Connor loves the HM, but Chelsea is not a big fan. I love T's "Smooky House"! Too cute!

The only thing going for Barnstormer is it's over really quickly! You are definitely not alone when it comes to the roller coasters.

great update and pics.

u held on so tight and bled on Barnstormer. :rotfl2:

Thanks!

Yes, sad, isn't it? ;) The 33-year-old was terrified of the kiddy coaster -- especially because the toddlers around me were having a blast.
I think it is more jarring than Everest.

You didn't do anything wrong. There was no way of you knowing that someone was being excluded. I hope Friend #1 gets an invite. It's terrible to be left out. I'm glad Connor is staying neutral. Smart boy!

Thanks for making me feel better!

When I raised my eyebrow at Connor after he told me the "annoying" bit -- he said, "I am just repeating what he said. I don't understand it either!" I was surprised at his maturity. I am so glad that he is not getting involved!

Have you tried Mission Space?

Uh Uh!!! :scared: The kids and Charles rode it last summer while I shopped in Mousegears. I would have done the non-spinning version, but they decided they wanted the spinning version (the most drastic spinning I will do is on the Teacups). I bought lots of fun souvies while they were being centrifuged.

How about you? Did you try that one?

I did it twice and I'm not sure about the spinning this trip. I've been getting very motionsick lately. It wouldn't be pretty :lmao:

Connor has the right idea. Be friends with everyone and stay out of the drama.

No rollar coasters huh? Gosh I love them! Well kudos to you for braving Barnstormer!:thumbsup2

Your kids are so cute! Love the pics outside the HM!

I can't believe Splash was a 100 minute wait, just downright crazy. I can't really think of any ride I would in my right mind wait 100 minutes for. Nope, none.

And those kind of things are hard, with your son's friend and the party. You didn't do anything wrong but I know what you mean about feeling bad for Friend #1. Hopefully it will all work itself out.

I don't think you did anything wrong either. Don't beat yourself up about it. Either it will all work out ok, or it won't, but it's not your fault. Maybe Friend #2's parents need to talk to him about being accepting. If you are close with Friend #1's mom, you could think about calling her to tell her what happened, then maybe Friend #2 will get an invite? But I'm not saying that's what you should do, because I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to to that in your situation. I am sure I have said plenty of similar (or worse) things in the past. Just remember, this too shall pass.

OH no. We did teacups at Six Flags last weekend and it got me dizzy. Dizzier than I remember ever being before. My cousin and I talked about how our bodies don't seem to take the rides as well as they used to. I am hoping I can handle the WDW rides, especially since alot of them (Mission Space, Test Track, R&R Coaster, EE) are new to us.

I figure there are only a couple of rides that DH will let me get out of, so I better make the most of it :thumbsup2 . Right now it is only Astro, M:S, and RnRC that I am allowed to be a chicken about.

I'll do them -- I just don't like them. I usually have to really steel myself to ride them. EE took me half the trip to ride in June, and then it was only because I promised myself a Yeti if I rode it. I liked it afterwards -- this next trip my goal is to ride it with my eyes open.

Your kids are so cute! Love the pics outside the HM!

Thanks! :goodvibes

None for me either!!! That's just insane!

I hope so -- next time my lips are sealed about party invites!

I totally agree with how our bodies don't seem to respond the same way anymore. I found myself tensing up on Splash last October and I kept thinking, "What is wrong with me??? This ride never used to bother me!" I was fine the second time.

I like the new pic in your signature! :thumbsup2

I will be handing out awards on May 23rd -- hence, my hare-brained idea to go at midnight (just like I was at Barnes and Noble at midnight to get the last Harry Potter -- yes, I am a geek like that :lmao: ). I wonder if my family would last through it???

Hey, I am not caught up but I am here, reading!! I really think God made us from a very close mold:rotfl: . I was DRESSED up as Professor Trelawny at the Deathly Hallows book party and got my book at midnight at BAM. DD10 was at a slumber party and they loaded up all the kids in a minivan and went to the library at midnight!
Incriminating photos:

I like Indy also-love the past 3 movies and am looking forward to the next installment. I am also looking very forward to Prince Caspian of the Narnia Chronicles!! It 's gonna be a good movie summer!

edit: yeah, I think I may be geekier than you BUT I do LOVE roller coasters, and do not like to spin, but I do love Mission Space b/c you don't feel the spinning. My all time favorite ride in WDW and DL is Splash Mountain-closed on both ends of the USA at the times of my visits!! I admit, that DL has my heart-I LOVED DL so much!
My TR for that is here:

It is short sweet and complete!!

Oh, I am so glad you are reporting on the party!! I love Chelsea's earrings!! The dead picture is good, too. Can you believe we have never eaten at Pecos Bills. I'm looking forward to hearing what you got. You took food pics, right?

First, I must profess my love for the mini trip report within the pre trip report. Too funny and may I say good for you!

I really am enjoying reading about your family, and I can't wait to hear more about the PnP Party, especially Jack Sparrow. ;)

Ah, you weren't lying about those Tonga toast pics, huh? Yum, yum. :yay:

I'm almost at a loss for what to comment on, the pre-trip, or the trip...

The Pre-Trip - I love, love, love the binder idea. So organized. So appealing to my type A side. Excellent! I loved that you changed resorts so many times. I go through a similar thing, but it's all in my head.

The Trip - How much do I wish that I lived close enough to drive to it and convince DH to go on a whim!!! You have mad skills, girlfriend. Uh huh. :worship:

I'm loving all of this, and so glad I'm finally caught up! Now, don't leave us hanging! ;)

Yay! The party looks like so much fun!
And umm.. who wouldn't want to live in the Haunted Mansion as a ghost!

I have never ridden RnR before and have no intentions of EVER getting on it.

We should make up tshirts. The DIS Ride Chickens Club :lmao:

We could put some of Gonzos chickens on them!!! Now, I will have to see if zazzle has those in the Muppets section!

The birthday thing, totally not your fault, don't fret about it!

Thanks! :goodvibes Connor said there wasn't any mention of any of it today! I do have to say that boys are so much more laidback than girls about some things!

We could definitely be long-lost sisters!!! :goodvibes Great costume!!! You look just like Emma Thompson with that wig!!! My friend and I went to the last two midnight releases and had a blast!

Is your dog a labrador? We have a black lab and she is definitely the baby of the family and spoiled rotten!

We are looking forward to Prince Caspian at our house, too! I adored the Narnia books as a child and was thrilled with the wonderful job they did on the first movie. I cried as hard during the movie when Aslan dies as I did when I read the book at 10.

Definitely going to read it! Splash is one of my favorites -- I even refer to WDW as my laughin' place! :goodvibes

Those were one of her purchases on this trip. She also bought the hairband which has groups of cherries in a hidden Mickey-type design.

Dropping in to see how your day is going.

And waiting to read more about P&PP popcorn::

My day was fine, but busy. Charles had family in town so we went over to his mother's for dinner. We had a nice time, but I am exhausted now!

I am surprised that last spot for the 1,000th ghost has been snapped up by now!

Just think, school will be over soon!!!!

It's coming so fast. After our benchmark tests, we do novel units in all three grades: all three books are ones that I love, and I have a lot of fun with them! I can't wait. Testing starts next week and runs through the following week -- then it's all downhill!
