Anyone read this? I just picked it up and am only on chapter 4.

Wondering what you thought?

We read it as a Church in small groups. I think it has gotten too big in a way. It seems to be more about Rick Warren then about God.

I didn't care for it much at all. I tried reading it daily and I got through it all, but it didn't seem very relavant to my life.

I didn't get all the way through it.

The first thing that kinda hung me up was in one of the early chapters where the author drew the conclusion that the very first rain that ever fell on the middle east was Noah's flood.

Because the Bible said in Genesis that Eden got its water supply from springs in the ground.

I thought that was sort of a stretch.

I mean, was the Old Testament supposed to contain a daily weather report? Are we supposed to assume it never rained except when the Bible mentioned it?

Sometimes I think people try to read too much into things.

If I could have burned my copy, I would have. To say nothing of the fact I cannot take Rick Warren seriously.
