THE Proposal, Bouncers, and a Celebrity!~PICS! June 3-6 COMPLETED!!!!!!

Well we needed to relax after all that excitement, so we headed over to ride the Mark Twain boat.

100_0236.jpg

We rode a few other rides when we decided that we were getting hungry. We wanted to celebrate the engagement of my brother and my new SIL, so we wanted to eat somewhere nice...now all DISer's know that it takes weeks even months in advance to make ressie's for a sit down place like the Blue Bayou or Steakhouse 55.

So we walk over to Guest Relations at the front of the park. There is a phone in there that you can make calls on for dinner reservations and anything else you can think of..So I make the call and the cast member was very helpful...I asked her if there were any tables available for five for about 600pm...Storyteller's Cafe was available! Perfect! So I make ressie's and we head over to the GCH.

We still had about 40 minutes to spare so we go to the Lounge of the GCH...we scored a table right around the fireplace..this is the only pic I got dangit!

100_0239.jpg

I had the Double Espresso Martini! Yummola!

After our delicious cocktails, we walked over to the Storyteller's cafe! It is very homey in there!

100_0245.jpg

I was very happy with our meals...what I liked about the place was that you had the option of getting a buffet meal or a sit down meal..DH was the only one who got the buffet option and he loved it! I had the chicken at first, which was really good, but then my mom's steak was to rare for her, so I gladly traded with her! I love me some red meat!!!

Then the waiter came out with a little cupcake to congratulate my bro and my sil on their engagement!

Too cute!

By this time, it was getting close to 8pm, so we decided to go back to the room. My Dh and I had decided earlier that week that we would go see Up at the AMC theaters in DTD at 9pm, so we went and watched that, while my brother and his new fiance, went to the jacuzzi, and my mom relaxed in her room..

BTW, Up was awesome! Silly, sad, and cute! My poor DH...he held back some tears! It was a terrific movie though!

On our way back to the DLH I took some pics of the waterfalls

100_0251.jpg

100_0252.jpg

These pics don't capture the true beauty of the falls..:)

We completely crashed when we got back to our rooms...we needed to rest up for another day..

Next day: Bouncers!

as soon as I get my Photopass pics in, I'll post them...they are way cuter than mine!

Lurkers, don't be afraid...I won't bite....well...I might! lol :lmao:

I am loving this TR! Already so many wonderful things (and photos)! I especially love that you are an honorary citizen of Disneyland. Maybe that means wherever you go, you take a little bit of DL with you.

Hi there! :yay: Subscribing!!! Just wanted to say, GREAT pictures of the room. We have reservations for a standard room in August. I haven't stayed at DLH since I was little back in the early 80s and was wondering what they looked like now!

Great TR! Love the pictures and the proposal was too cute! Can't wait for the rest.

I would think so! I was so honored to wear that button! Even my husband wore it, and he hats anything that draws attention to him! :lmao:

I LOVE the DLH! You're gonna love it also I'm sure!

Great TR! Love the pictures and the proposal was too cute! Can't wait for the rest.

Wasn't that proposal adorable!:cutie: Ya, I always wanted to get proposed to during a fireworks show in front of the castle, but my dh had other plans...oh well...maybe when we renew our vows he can ask me the way i've always dreamed!:cloud9:

OMG I loved the proposal! That is excactly where and how my DH proposed (after taking PP pics and right in front of the castle). How cute! Do you have a close up of the ring? :)

I am loving this TR!!! Your pictures of the DLH waterfalls brought a smile to my face :goodvibes We are headed there this Friday and can't wait.. The proposal was amazing and what a special memory for them:love:

I can't wait to read more!!

I can't wait to read more!!

Woohoo for you!:) I'm going back on Monday with some girls from work, but unfortunately, not staying at any DLR hotels! GRRrrr.. :lmao:

Sorry i'm taking so long everybody to post my next installment...

I've been busy with work, then I got sick...still am, but hopefully will be able to do it later tonight or tomorrow, so bear with me!!

Sorry i'm taking so long everybody to post my next installment...

I've been busy with work, then I got sick...still am, but hopefully will be able to do it later tonight or tomorrow, so bear with me!!

Feel better!!!! :flower3: We will all be waiting patiently!! :dance3:

So my brother, his gf, and I wake up at about 630am to get to the Magic Morning over at DL...Unfortunately, I had to activate my Deluxe AP at the ticket booth.

By the time, I walked through Downtown Disney, get in line for the ticket booth, and in the park, it is now 730am. Well, at least I made it for half of Magic Morning right?

100_0168.jpg

Not too busy, huh? It was actually really nice to be able to walk into Tomorrow Land without herds of people at my heels. I called my brother to catch up with him, and he and his gf were barely getting on Space mountain, so I waited at the exit. A couple minutes later they were off, and we were off for some rides in Fantasyland!

The Matterhorn, then Alice in Wonderland!

100_0170.jpg

100_0171.jpg

After Alice, we went on Mr. Toad! I love this ride! Has anyone every seen the first claymation of Wind in the Willows? I believe it was 1987 or something...LOVE THAT MOVIE! We actually rented it on Netflix about a month ago!

Anyways, weird experience: Since there was only three of us and the cars are only two seaters, I had to ride by myself which was no problem. They loaded in front of me, and then I waited for my car. There was an older man running the ride, so he loaded me up and I said good morning, how are you? He said, "Even better now that I've seen you!" AHH! Get me outta here!:scared1: Well he sent me on my way, and you know how you go in through that little room, then back out towards the front again? He was hecka waving and smiling all creepily at me!! And what was worse, was that after I unloaded, he was all yelling, "Pretty girl in the pink shirt!!!!" Nope, I had my sun:3dglasses on so I wouldn't make eye contact!!

Anyways, after Mr. Toads, we went on Pinocchio's and then to Thunder Mountain. It was now about 830am and my DH finally decides to come join us. So we rode, Splash (ZERO WAIT), got soaked, and headed over to the Haunted Mansion to freeze our butts off inside the cold house.

My mom joined us soon after, so we waited on Main street to meet up with her. Here's a pic of how it looked at about 945am..

100_0172.jpg

Our first OFFICIAL ride with the whole family was:

100_0174.jpg

I'm gonna back up a little bit now...a few weeks ago, my brother had announced to my family that he was going to ask his gf, Melissa to marry him! :woohoo: And he wanted to do it at Disneyland! Even better! But he really wanted it to be a surprise, so we devised a little plan...he wanted to do this in front of the castle with a Photopass Photographer. We decided that me and DH would take a few pics first with the PP so that Melissa wouldn't think that something was up. Then we would take a family photo, and then they would take a few shots together, and then he would propose.

Well, about a week before the trip, his gf told my brother that she didn't want to go! :scared1: She didn't want to go because, every time that they went to Disneyland, she always thought that "it" would happen on that trip, and she was always so disappointed at the end of the trip that "it" never happened...well all my brother had to say was, "But it's Disneyland though!" That's all that he had to say and the plans were back on!

Okay, now come back to the exit of Star tours...

So we walk over to the Castle. All the PP's, were occupied, so we waited and then finally one comes open! My cute brother..I should have taken a pic of him..he looked so nervous! There were people around after all!

So my mom is whispering to the PP, while I'm talking to Melissa, trying to keep her distracted! So the session begins. The whole family takes a picture, then my and my dh take a couple. Then my brother and Melissa. And let me tell you how PERFECT THE TIMING WAS! I guess there was gonna be a little show in front of the castle, so there were two cast members blocking off the entrance the castle. So people that were going to watch the show were already lining up behind us...then it happened:

100_0179-1.jpg

100_0183-1.jpg

100_0181.jpg

100_0182.jpg

Isn't this too adorable!! People were clapping and coming up and congratulating them! I even saw one woman, slap her man's arm like, "That's what I want!!" LOL!

Then we took a group photo after:

100_0185.jpg

100_0186.jpg

So after all the excitement we got hungry! There was a game going on at that time, so me and DH took the monorail to ESPN Zone. We love that place! Took a few pics before boarding:

100_0188.jpg

100_0191.jpg

100_0199.jpg

After lunch we all met up again. It was starting to get a little busy so we decided to go over to Innoventions.

We wanted to show my mom the Future House or whatever it's called.

Here's my DH hard at work:
100_0225.jpg

100_0226.jpg

And here he is again in the girl's bedroom. Check out those gums in the mirror!

100_0227.jpg

He scared a poor little girl and she started crying, so we made a quick exit out of that room!

This is where we met the Celebrity! We were waiting in line to play the game that powers up the cities on the second floor, when we met this guy:

100_0228.jpg

Don't recognize him???

I'm sure if you heard his voice you would...

Have you ever gone on California Screamin' over at DCA? He's the voice of "Get ready screamers!..." He's a voice actor for Disney! In fact, his going to be doing some Pixar movies in the future!!! And get this...he's only 19!!! He was able to do stitch, tow-mater, and Heimlich from Bug's Life! I was in Heaven when he did the California Screamin voice!!

So keep an "ear" out for Drew! lol! and if you want to visit him, head on over to Innoventions!

I consider him a celebrity...okay, a disney celebrity, but one day I think he's gonna be HUGE!

Well, as we were getting ready to exit the Innoventions building, Drew comes riding up in a Segway to hand us a button I had never seen before: An Honorary Citizen of Disneyland button! Has anyone else seen one before?
I was stoked!

Continued on next post...

Ok, I seriously have tears running down my face...the proposal photos are awesome!

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed reading! There is a high possibility we will be going to DL in Aug. I have never gone in the summer, and crowds frighten me. I feel much better after hearing about your summer trip, and how it wasn't bad though. We were originally planning on the DLH, but may wind up going w/ the PPH because I'd like to extend the trip and it's more cost effective.

Hello all! I'm back!!:cool1:

Sorry guys!

I'm gonna combine the last two days together because the last day we didn't really do much.

Which means this will be my last installment for my TR.:sad1:

BUT...i'm leaving at 415am tomorrow morning with a bunch of girls (9 of us), to Disneyland! Yay!! So excited! :cool1: So depending how exciting and fun my adventure is, I may just make another TR!

This will be my first time to DL without any of my family or my hubby!:scared1: I'll miss them but I know i'll have fun! So anyways on with the TR....

Today was our last day for the parks because we were blocked out for that saturday (6/6) and my mom only had a two day park hopper, so it worked out in the end. We just decided to hit DTD the next day to do some shopping and grubbing.

DCA was today! I love DCA! I love the openness! The park was scheduled to open at 10am and we HAD to get my mom on the Toy Story Midway Mania ride! My brother and his fiance had left earlier to get on a few rides over at DL when they opened at 9am, so we would just meet up with them. My mom, my DH,and I left our room at around 9:20am so we could leisurely make our way through DTD and get to the rope drop.

DH and I at the DLH

100_0253.jpg

So we are actually through the turnstiles at 9:45am! Yay!
We make a right towards Soarin' Over Cali, to try and get as close as possible to TSMM.

Let me explain something real quick. The last time I was here to try and RUSH to get on TSMM was in January, so between January and June, Disney has come up with some rules about the major headliners, or at least TSMM. The CM forms their own line that you must get in if you want to ride TSMM, which for us was against the Grizzly River Run fence. Then about 5-10 minutes till the park officially opens, the cast member walks us over, in a line, over to TSMM! Brilliant!!! Why couldn't they have done this sooner! I remember in January, my DH and I were speed walking trying to beat the hoards of people making their way over to TSMM!

I think I was more relieved for my mom that she didn't have to run over to the ride! Here are some random pics that I took while walking like preschoolers over to TSMM..

100_0254.jpg

100_0255.jpg

100_0256.jpg

100_0257.jpg

100_0258.jpg

We end up waiting for maybe a minute once everyone starts to load the ride! Score! I totally love this ride! It's brilliant! My mom...not so much! LOL poor thing. I explained to her at the beginning, when you are assigned your color of ammo, in my case green and for her yellow, that when you see your color ammo coming out of your 'gun' that you try and aim it at objects..I thought that she had got the practice run so I left her alone to enjoy the rest of the ride. I pretty much knew I was going to get a higher score than her (I get a higher score then my hubby but don't say anything!:rotfl:) I looked at her score at the end, and it was very low...I asked what the heck were you doing...she said,"I rarely had any yellow targets on my screen! BAHAHAH :rotfl2: She thought I told her to shoot at only yellow objects! I love her but sometimes I wonder about her...:rolleyes1

My brother and his fiance were boarding right as we were exiting, so we waited and I took a few more pics...

100_0259.jpg

100_0260.jpg

Once my bro and Melissa got off the ride, we decided to get on Screamin'. So my mom and Melissa waited for us while we rode. We waited maybe 5 minutes for the ride!

My mom tried to get a pic of us...my dh and I are in the back and my bro is in front of us..sorry you can't see us very well..

100_0261.jpg

100_0263.jpg

Lol! I love this pic of the boys!

After Screamin' we just walked around and viewed the new games on the boardwalk...I like their new system, has anyone seen it? You have to put money on a card, so the CM don't directly deal with cash. It doesn't feel like a fair anymore, and the CM's don't look like carnie's now!

Mullholland Madness was next and, surprisingly, my mom LOVES this ride!

100_0266.jpg

Here was a pic of a pretty hummingbird near the bushes of MM:

100_0273.jpg

Again, another 5 minute wait! This is what happens when you wake up early!

Before:
100_0274.jpg

During..I tried to get a pic of all three of them, but really just got Melissa
100_0276.jpg

After:

That ride's fun! Feels like LA to me, how about you?

Took some more pictures after we exited MM:

100_0282.jpg

Who's excited about WOC????

100_0283.jpg

100_0284.jpg

My brother had made reservations at 1200pm for lunch at Wine Country Trattoria, and it was now 1115am but I was hungry and so was DH. We all wanted a snack, so we split up to get our respective 'snack'. I quote snack because this doesn't look like a snack to me...

100_0285.jpg

This is the California Wrap - Marinated Grilled Chicken, Mandarin oranges, apricots, sliced red flame grapes, cilantro, baby spinach, lightly tossed in a dressing of non-fat yogurt laced with amber honey, wrapped in a spinach tortilla. Served with choice of apple slices or fries. $7.99 (Courtesy of Allears.net) This is served over at the Farmers Market in a Bug's Land, and it doesn't look too appealing, but oh my it is!

We just take our time eating, soaking up the atmosphere, and sluggishly make our way over to where my brother, dsil, and dmom were having their snack over at Tasts Pilot's Grill near Soarin' when I saw this:

100_0286.jpg

100_0287.jpg

I named him 'Kitty', after Monster's Inc. I thought it was very suitable and appropriate...

I forgot when, but earlier in the day we had grabbed FP's for Soarin', so we rode on that before heading over to the trattoria for our official lunch!

Cont. on next post..

Some pics I took walking over to the trattoria:

100_0289.jpg

Blue Sky Cellar I think it's called:

100_0291.jpg

So at the trattoria I had the:

Tuscan Salad* - Hearty salad of white beans, beets, black olives, red bell peppers, celery, salami, Roma tomatoes, mixed garden greens, mozzarella and our house-made croutons. Served with your choice of Italian, blue cheese, ranch or oil & vinegar $9.99 (Allears.net)

and my DH:

Caprese Sandwich - Fresh Mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, red bell peppers, marinated artichokes, olives and capers drizzled with red wine vinaigrette on savory pretzel bread. $9.99, but he added some meats to this...for him, it's not hearty or appetizing enough if there's no meat in it! What can I say, he's a male with a stomach!

It really was a good lunch!

After lunch we walked around a Bug's Land:

100_0294.jpg

100_0295.jpg

100_0297.jpg

Of course since we are in a Bug's Land, which should obviously see "It's Tough to be a Bug"!!!!

100_0300.jpg

100_0303.jpg

After the horrifying show, we went to ride Monster's Inc, to honor 'kitty' who was back at Taste Pilots' Grill

100_0305.jpg

Do you know what time it is??? It's afternoon drinky time!!!:cool1:

So we head over to the Cove Bar! My new fave place at DCA!

100_0309.jpg

100_0310.jpg

A shot of patron to seal the deal...

100_0311.jpg

100_0312.jpg

Some more pics of the construction from the Cove Bar

100_0308.jpg

100_0306.jpg

100_0307.jpg

After our delicious drinks we head over to:

100_0317.jpg

So this is when the 'Bouncers' part of my title comes in!

My dh, dbrother, dsil, and I wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain, so we're in line for 10 minutes...not bad...we tell the CM how many in our party and we ask if we can be seated in the back (best seat of the ride, IMO). So we are waiting at the horse gate for the next train to come which is coming...then the train stops halfway...we see CM running around, and they make an announcement that due to 'Technical Difficulties' the ride is now closed and that we must retrace our steps out of the line...the poor people stuck in the train have no idea what's going on...well since we are the last ones in line, we were able to talk to one of the CM's about what really happened..

Turns out, the people in row 12 had pushed up their lap bars, causing them to be riding that last part of the ride with no restraint! The CM told us when this happens, the entire ride must be shut down, and everyone must be unloaded from their train...

So us being the nosey family we are, go wait by the exit to see who it is...we see about 5 security guards come running from the Golden Horseshoe area, and I hear one of them saying, "they better not give us any trouble like last time!" :scared1: They were gonna get thrown out! And I'm thinking there just might be a brawl about to happen!:sad2:

Then we start seeing more CM's running to BTMR to help exit the other guests that were stuck on the train...there was one train in a tunnel and one train going up the first hill(that sucks for them!)

So I want to see the jerks that did this to everyone...we can't see too well because the security guards are manning these people like no other...then we see them...

A little boy and a little girl no older than 12 years old being escorted off the ride..they were apart of a grad group and we happened to be near the chaperone of the grad group...the officers told them that these two need to leave the park immediately because they did not abide by the regulations given by the posted rules or CM's! Never in my life, had I seen kids more scared!

So remind all your little ones, if you ever want to see Disneyland again, you better stay in your seat!

So that was our excitement for the day! Phew! What a wonderful trip! lol!

We decide it's time to eat! So Rainforest Cafe it is!

People on the Disboards know how much I despise this place...not so much for the atmosphere, but because the food is horrific! But my db and dsil wanted to eat here, so no complaints! I'm just glad to be here!....I should have complained...my food was disgust!:headache: I was more urked because I knew that my previous meals here had not been good and knew that I would be paying for crappola...I chose a quesadilla from the app's menu, thinking NO ONE can mess up a darn quesadilla right? Burnt tortilla, over-cooked chicken, not enough cheese (sigh)...well turns out I didn't have to pay for my crappola meal! My brother treated us! Aww how nice!

After dinner, we had FP's to ride Indy so we hopped on the Monorail to Disneyland..by this time it's after 10pm and the park is PACKED!!! Argghh hurry up and get me on Indy then get me out of here! After we rode Indy, I guess I built up some more energy from the ride, so I wanted to go climb Tarzan's Treehouse. My mom, bro, and sil, went back to the hotel, so my awesome DH stayed with me...more like MADE him stay with me!

100_0332.jpg

100_0333.jpg

It's actually really pretty and serene up here at night!

Has anyone ever played Kingdom Hearts? If you have, this is my DH playing Sora opening up a chest with his keyblade! lol!

100_0334.jpg

100_0335.jpg

On our way out I had to take a picture of Walt and his castle

100_0337.jpg

Coming up: DTD our last day ;(

So after a long couple of days in the park, we were FINALLY able to sleep in!...8am...lol:lmao: Isn't that horrible!?? Oh well!

So Melissa was up at the same time, so we got dressed and went down to the DLH Coffee Shop for some morning pastries...it was about 1030am so we decided to head out of our room and into DTD!

My family packed all our bags in to the truck while I checked us out..

100_0344.jpg

My DH, modeling the typical face of a man at DTD
100_0348.jpg

100_0349.jpg

100_0350.jpg

First stop in DTD? Duh, the World of Disney of course!

Don't you guys just LOVE that store?? I wish I could own everything in that place!

Got my DH a Jack Skellington coffee mug so that he could match my tigger mug. I got an Oswald shirt made by Lucky...you all BETTER know who Oswald is...if not, you better do your research! :surfweb: I also came away with a cute mickey heads bag for my future trips! And of course, what's not a trip without Mickey Head Suckers that come in a pack of five??? I love those things!

We also went to that new store, Miss Matched, I think it's called! Love the idea of a pack of three socks! lol!

We were getting hungry and it was my turn to pick out what I wanted to eat...cuz i'm a princess:!

We went to Tortilla Joe's Express Window! They have the BEST burritos! They are so big, and they do not skimp on anything!

After lunch we walked around the grounds of DLH, like where the gaezebo's are and took a few pics

100_0351.jpg

Ya, not Gaezebo's but still a cute pic

100_0352.jpg

I took a few pictures of my brother and melissa on the grounds, but I don't have them. They're in her camera!

Afterwards, it was time to leave :sad1:

Overall, the trip was so awesome and very eventful which I loved!

So i'm getting ready to leave for my next trip which is 6/22-6/23 with girls that I work with! I'm sure I will have a blast!

Thanks everyone for reading my TR!:flower3:

In January 2010, I will be going to WDW so that is going to be a great TR, so I hope you will visit me again!
