is that you are always planning another vacation!!!!!! Seriously 2005 vacations are set and I am already thinking about a Nov. 2006 vacation. Yikes! Anyway I'm thinking of a 2bdrm at OKW we will be bringing my brother and his family, his wife, daughter age 8 and son age 5 at the time. The kids love the pools. We have never stayed at OKW. We've done SSR and BWV-doing them both again this year.My brother loved SSR but I'm thinking the extra room would be great! Convince me about OKW!!!

I know just how you feel. I just booked our New Year's trip and used all but 2 of my points. It's sad to know I have no more available until next June.

Anyway, I own at SSR but stay at OKW often and I love it! The rooms are the largest of all the DVC resorts and depending on what building you are assigned, OKW can be very quiet and relaxing. Plus I bet your kids will love the new slide at the pool.

Enjoy.

Oh man do we hear that! OKW is great. It is very peaceful and plenty of pool action. There is a game room for the kids and I think they still run the unbirthday party there.

The room size can not be beat. They are huge more room than you will need. Our two bedroom had a huge balcony- with a real table and chairs for dining outside. Also the boat ride to DTD would be fun...kids like boats.

Put it this way we are BCV owners and after staying at OKW we bought there too!
Good luck and have fun,
Karen

We LOVE OKW! Large living room/kitchen, large bedrooms, large bathrooms, and the only DVC resort that has FOUR pools! That means FOUR hot tubs and play areas too! The huge decks are the best place for breakfast. We love sitting out there eating breakfast and watching the wildlife along the golf course.

OKW has the best sq footage. Seems Disney cheaped out with the newer resorts, smaller living rooms and bedrooms in BWV, SSR, etc. So yes, with the size group you're talking bout, OKW can't be beat. Have fun planning! :wave2: :earsboy:

To me DVC adds a little to the fun of it, but I was a vacation planner before I joined.

OKW is our top DVC resort -- large, spacious, relaxed atmosphere, easy parking. Enjoy your first trip there. I suspect it will be the first of many!

Yep DVC is a holiday planners dream We have our trips laid out from now through 2010.

I pretty much have my trips planned until 2008. OKw is great. I am considering changing there, if possible, for our upcoming trip just because of the size.

Regarding planning future trips - I'm glad to see that there are others out there like myself. I am in the process of planning eight different trips - some DVC stays, a couple of cruises and several just regular old trips. My DW, DD25 and DS30 are always making fun of me with my obsession with planning trips. But the thing is - they never seem to have a problem with going along with me on all these trips :). Right now I'm working on a trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon next month, then a week at HHI first week of August, then a trip to Washington, DC March 2006, an Hawaiian cruise and stopover at Disneyland June 2006, a week at BWV August 2006, then Thanksgiving at HHI 2006, followed by a week at HHI June 2007, then a 10 day Caribbean cruise September 2007, followed by 8 nights at VWL Christmas 2007. I've got all this entered into an Excel spreadsheet and spend a lot of time balancing DVC points with my retirement date, annual leave and DW's work schedule. I'm constantly using Caskbill's program to try different points scenarios and keep it all entered in my Outlook calendar. I then have trip plans for each of these trips and packing lists for the upcoming trips entered into Outlook also. I wouldn't call this an obsession though, would you? :cool1:

Hi,

I've got 2005 done & 2006! Planning 2007.

Ms. Sparrow aka Allison

I feel your pain! I already have December 07 booked off at the office- we're trying the every other year plan, doing 2 trips within a 12 month period to take advantage of APs. Did Jan 05, have ressies for Dec 05, and am looking forward to Dec 07 and W&F Nov 08.

Dh is now considering 2010 as his retirement year, and that's fine with me, he travels a lot for work and those miles add up. We enjoy long weekend get-aways and his miles let us do that.

Planning trips? Yes, my main problem is I keep using up points that 6 months ago I thought I was going to bank. My DSis now is coming on my "girlfriend" fall trip, so rather than 4 in a studio, I booked another studio, there went 29 of the remaining '06 points. We're down to about 160 out of 500 for next year. However, I am determined to spend at least 5 nights in June '06 at VWL with DH, followed by a trip to the ocean, but probably using his Marriott points not our VB, I have 30 next year to (hopefully) bank into '07 so we can have a beach house!

Wolfpack fan, you sound so organized and have planned some fun times! Yes, I do think that planning vacations way into the future is a side effect of owning DVC!

Isn't it nice to have such problems? We are all so furtunate! Life is good!!!

Wolfpackfan you are correct they never seem to complain about making the trip with me LOL. We have dates planned out and park days planned and even off site trips to the coast and such my DW and I are plan a holics LOL.

My thoughts exactly...I wish this problem on everyone. For that matter I wish all my DisBoards friends twice the number of points you currently own so that the burden of managing your vacations is multiplied two fold.

AHHHH!! The responsibilities that come with DVC ownership. All this planning and fun vacationing with family and friends at WDW while staying in great DVC acommodations is exhausting. I'll need to take a vacation after all our vacation planning is done.

DW and I certainly are fortunate not only that we're DVC members but in every way I can think of. Sometimes I wonder why us?

After we purchased in 1997, I had trips planned out through 2002! Now I just plan year ahead, and sometimes add a trip last minute.

DS & I will be meeting DISers Aug 19th that will be on the Aug 19th, 2006 Special Western cruise !!

Boardwalk is our home and our favorite, but we did OKW last year for Member Homecoming and loved it. The rooms are very big!

Planning is fun! We have a Boardwalk trip in June, Boardwalk again in September along with the DVC Member Cruise, a trip to Disneyland in December and a DCL cruise next May. I love planning my Disney trips!

So stressed-- booking two vacations for 2006!!
By the way, OKW is yukky-- you won't like the big rooms, laid back atmosphere, steel drum music, boat to Downtown Disney... ;)
