The problem with being a family of 5

This is one of my biggest beefs with Dinsey. Why can't they fit trundles at the Carribean Resort? Hopefully, they'll consider larger plans in their future building plans.

I feel your pain, we have a family of 5 as well. THe POR was GORGEOUS, if it's any consolation. We've also stayed at the cabins, which were great, but the transportaion a huge pain in the butt. My husband was pushing for 2 rooms at the All Star, but my kids are too little.

Good luck in your decision!

We are a family of 5(DH, me, DD-8, DD-5, and DS-3. We stayed in two rooms at AllStar Music this past Oct. and I will NEVER EVER do that again. We've stayed at Vistana Resort before and loved having two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a whirlpool tub. With a large family everybody needs a break from each other every once in a while , but at a budget resort you don't get this luxury. Though there are perks to staying onsite, for my large family we will stay offsite in the future. It's cheaper than staying at a Deluxe, and not a hassle at all.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...some travel agent could do well by specializing in accomodations for people who need more than 2 beds.

AMEN! And hotels need affordable suite type accomadations for larger families also. We are barely squeaking in this time w/5 kids because the youngest is under 1. Sigh. :(

DisneyMom5, here is something that drives me crazy: The "all suites" hotels where the suites still only sleep 4 people! So many of them now have one bedroom with a king sized bed, plus a sofa sleeper in the living room....in many hotels, that is the one and only bed configuration.

We've rented some fairly nice condos all over the country, and it is a very affordable way to go. I just wish that Disney was more accomodating.

I sure can relate! I just booked my May 2004 trip, and I actually lost sleep over the decision to stay on site or off. (We are a family of 5 also).

I decided on the Vistana Resort in Lake Buena Vista. We've stayed there before although we weren't going to WDW during those vacations.

I got a 2 bedroom villa with full kitchen and jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom for $120 a night. The money we will save will be used for character breakfasts, nice meals at the parks, and extra spending funds. If you read posts under the transportation board, you'll find that during non-peak times, you can actually get around very quickly with a rental car, sometimes faster than the busses! That made me feel a little better, 'cuz we sure liked using the bus system.

I know that whatever you decide, you'll have a nice time!
