The Princess and the Knave take on the World! Complete with pics!

How lucky were you at Garden Grill??? That looked soooo fun! And great tip on channel 96. I'm going to try that when we stay at the Poly!!! Did you hear me??? Yup...I'm trying to get march ressies for the Poly. And it was your pics that sold me!! :teeth:

Hey everyone! Well, I've had another crazy weekend. My sister came to visit for one night (last Thursday) and with her she brought her HUSBAND. She eloped with her boyfriend in New York and didn't tell us until we picked them both up at the airport! We were all just shocked. This is not like her and I just am beside myself, trying to process it all.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I will have my next installment up tomorrow night, so stay tuned! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! :teeth:

WOW!!
That is a big shocker. Hope it is all happy news when it is processed. Look forward to next installment.

:faint: I don't even know your sister and it sounds shocking to me. :goodvibes

Can't wait; your pictures are the best!!!!!

Oh my gosh, she eloped! You must have been so shocked. I hope that she is truly happy and has a loving and lasting marriage and hopefully you have gained a great brother-in-law.

Can't wait to read your new update!

I can't believe she eloped! Had you even met this guy yet? (I can't remember...) Hopefully everything will work out for them! Looking forward to the new installment tonight!

Hmmm.... the obsessive cell phoning while at Disney was a warning sign! Who can be on the phone the whole time while at Disney? Have you met him? Did she elope for the romance of it or because she's afraid ya'll won't like him? I'm all for eloping if it is just to save money :rolleyes1 but not if the family is totally out of the loop!!!

Hey everyone,

Yes, my sister shocked us all by eloping with this guy. This is so not like her and we are just perplexed. None of us had met the guy before she brought him home as her husband. I am sure she knew we would disapprove of her marrying so quickly after her second divorce was final (only a month ago) so she just decided she was going to do it. They are doing well financially, so it wasn't for that reason. We were all totally out of the loop - no one knew anything, except that she was really crazy about the guy. My mom, dad and I have all cried very hard about this. She was supposed to move back home to D/FW and changed her mind two days before it was to happen, saying she got a great job opportunity (which we now know is a lie). It is so unlike her to lie. So we are all doing the best we can with the situation. She and Percy are back in New York now and we just have to let it go and pray everything will be allright. She is 32 and she is going to live her life the way she sees fit and the only thing we can do is love her and be there for her. But I have a very bad feeling about it.

Anyway, let's get back to my TR! :teeth:

Allrighty, let’s go Epcot!

Day 13 - Saturday, May 26, 2007

Well, we were supposed to start our day with a 7:30 character breakfast at ‘Ohana with my sister joining us before she caught a plane back to New York, but as you probably guessed, she stayed on the phone most of the previous night talking to her now husband (for those of you who don’t know, she ELOPED with her boyfriend of two months on July 8 and didn’t tell anyone) and was not going to make it. And actually this time, I wasn’t going to make it that early, either. I felt so sick when I woke up that I wasn’t going anywhere, so James called and rescheduled our breakfast to 10:30 tomorrow morning so I could sleep some more. The only bad thing was that my sister had to leave the Poly at 9:30 to catch her plane so she would miss another character meal that I had planned. Oh well, she had other priorities, as you now know! So I slept all the way until it was time to say goodbye to my sister – we walked her to the lobby and said our goodbyes and then James and I went back to our room where I fell back asleep until 11:00. That extra sleep really did me some good because I awoke feeling decent, so we made our way to the Transportation & Ticket Center and caught the monorail to Epcot. Before we left, I caught this photo from our balcony. . .

And these photos on the way. . .Another Tiki!

On the way to Epcot!

I’m hiding my very tired looking eyes!

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana042.jpg

And Flora is admiring my crocs! :teeth:
GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana037.jpg

We had planned to make today a day to do everything we hadn’t done yet, but it didn’t quite work out that way. Our first stop was Universe of Energy. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana029.jpg

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana032.jpg

And we made it as far as the preshow, but then when it was said that it was in the dark and things could happen suddenly, that was it for me. I am very easily startled and when that happens, my symptoms jump through the roof. Since I was sick, that would have compounded things, so we decided to save this attraction for when I was well. So we exited early. On the way out, we saw the lonely looking Wonders of Life pavilion, which was closed, and has been for some time. I wish they would do something with it. It looks so sad!

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana030.jpg

I wanted to at least see Mission Space since I couldn’t ride it yet. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana033.jpg

And then I was really thirsty and my throat was really hurting, so we made our way to Club Cool. . .I was determined to down a whole cup of Beverly, since my sister had done it, so to prepare, I downed several cups of the Japan drink veggiebeta (sp?), the lemon drink and ginger ale. And now the Beverly!

Step 1. . .getting the drink. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana020.jpg

Step 2. . .drinking it. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana021.jpg

Step 3. . .TaDaa! I did it! :teeth:

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana024.jpg

Step 4. . .showing how I really feel about it! :teeth:

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana023.jpg

Step 5. . .making Flora drink some since she was laughing at me the whole time! :teeth: I think she actually liked it!

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana028.jpg

More to come!

After our fun in Club Cool, we walked the World Showcase, but I was wearing down fast. I didn’t even feel like taking any pictures and that’s rare! Today was not going to be a good day for me in the parks. . .I was just too fatigued and the heat was draining me even more, so we reluctantly decided to leave after only a couple of hours, but not before we rode Spaceship Earth one last time. I really loved this ride. It was too bad that some creep kept taking flash pictures and he took a ton of them during the entire ride. ARRGGHHH!

We made our way to the monorail, where I crashed because I was just so exhausted and then James helped me back to our room where, to our delight, our Mousekeeper left us another towel creation!

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana045.jpg

MewithFlorainourPolyRoomwithMickeyE.jpg

And then I crashed again. I was just really sick today so James let me sleep for 3 hours and when I woke up around 5:00, he had a surprise for me – he was able to snag a last-minute ADR to ‘Ohana for dinner at 6:45 p.m.! Woo-hoo! I had told him I enjoyed it so much that I wished we could have dinner there again, but I didn’t think we’d be able to get in at the last minute. He is just too sweet! I was hungry by this time anyway, since I hadn’t eaten breakfast or lunch. So we freshened up and headed out. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana056.jpg

to the Great Ceremonial House, where we caught the Torch Lighting Ceremony that happens every evening at 6:00 p.m. at the entrance to the lobby. . .a man chants and plays the drums while a fire spinner runs around and lights all the torches and then does a fire spinning routine. It was awesome! And woooo, was that fire-spinner handsome! :teeth:

Isn’t is cool how you can see water in the middle of this plant? So cool! :teeth:

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana091.jpg

We wandered around the Great Ceremonial House and then walked around the beach for a little bit and found this cool survey marker. . .

More to come, so stay tuned! :teeth:

And then it was time for dinner! Woo-hoo! So we made our way to the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House, where we checked in and were immediately led to our table, which was another wonderful window table with a great view of Cinderella Castle. . . I think James had something to do with that. . .he’s such a sweetheart! Here are some pictures of our table view. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana113.jpg

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana114.jpg

Finally, it arrived and we chowed down! I was sooooooo hungry!

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana115.jpg

Here’s the 18-foot fire pit where they cook all of their meats. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana119.jpg

We ate to our hearts desire, but even as hungry as I was, we could not finish all they brought us. It was just so much food! But we were very happy and very satisfied. ‘Ohana is a must-do for me from now on! The staff is so friendly, the food is great and the atmosphere is fun, laid back and relaxed. I love it!

After dinner, we didn’t really feel like heading back to the parks, so we decided to hang out on the grounds until the Electrical Water Pageant. . .and of course, I was back in a picture taking mood! YAY!

Then it was nearing time for the Electrical Water Pageant, so we made our way to the beach. . .

GradTour2007-526.07EpcotOhana221.jpg

And watched the show! It is just sooo cute! I will watch this every time I stay at the Poly from now on. :teeth:

And after the show, it was time for bed. . .I still wasn’t feeling too great and I wanted to be able to have a full day in the Animal Kingdom the next day, so we headed back to our room for a good night’s sleep. . .I was sad that today wasn’t as full as I would have liked for it to be, but it was still a very lovely day. . .and I was ready for more!

Stay tuned as James and I head back to ‘Ohana for breakfast, go to the Animal Kingdom and try Boma for the first time! Woo-hoo! :woohoo:

I am still really enjoying your report. I just love all of your wonderful pictures. James sure is a sweetie nabbing that Ohana ADR for you.

I am so sorry about the drama that was caused by your sisters elopement. I hope that everything works out for the best for her and the rest of your family.

Great update. love all the pictures.

Hi, Carol! I was so glad to see an update on your trip! Hopefully the stuff going on with your sister will work out okay--sometimes it seems like after the first couple of divorces it's awfully easy to move through relationships quicker. My good friend just went through her 3rd(!!!) divorce this summer and she's just 34! So sad. I really hope your sister can make this work--are they going to come for a visit so your family can meet new hubby?

Again, the pics of the Polynesian were stunning-you make me so jealous!! I hate you were so sick on your vacation, but James seems very sweet taking care of you! On to Animal Kingdom!

What a rotton day...being so sick. But at least you got to hit up O'hana's...which will be my first ADR for my next trip!

and I hope your sister is doing well...I can't imagine what your family is feeling. Huts to you

:cheer2: I love it! [wendywhiner] I wanna stay at the Poly tooooo[/wendywhiner]. It is SO beautiful there. I have to stay there my next trip! Your pictures are lovely. I am going to show DH those pictures and then dare him to tell me it wouldn't be worth the money to stay there! pirate:

I am sorry you weren't feeling well again but it seems that you made the best of it. :goodvibes

And how sweet was your friend to score another ADR for O'hana?!

Your trippie was recommended on another thread by Kristina

Brilliant report and fab photos - Thank you :)
