Gosh - if I can find all of the books suggested on this thread - at a reasonable price - I'll be thrilled!

Ebay often has decent prices on books, just be careful about s/h charges and expect them to take a bit to get to you if they are sent media mail.

If you like historical fiction, Lori Wick has some good series out.
The Californians series is good, and I really like the Rocky Mountain memorys series. Her book Pretense is one of the my all time favorite books. (its more contemporary, but excellent!)
Lynn Austin also has some really great books out there. I picked up Eve's Daughters at a yardsale and now I have every one of her books. They are SO good.

C.Ann you should try the Ann B. Ross, Miss Julia book series. Also, Janette Oke has a great series, older series, that I love to read over and over.

C Ann that is the series I mentioned in the tread with Pop Daddy, I agree a GREAT series!! There is actually 4 more books "A Prairie Legacy Series" that continue with the younger generations of the original book. That is also my favorite time period in history. Janette Oke is a great author in that time period.

How about the Anne of Green Gables books? Janette Oke is christian fiction and I read my first of hers around 10-12 years. Beverly Lewis has a series out that is actually in my juniors/childrens section of the library. Summerhill Secrets I think??? The Laura Ingalls books are great for that age and there are like 15 books in her series. Alex Ryder books are another great read if she likes adventure.

The Janet Oke Series might be ok, but I think the others would be too adult. I have not read the Janet Oke ones in a long time so I would reccomend reading them first since every kid is different.
I agree that the L.M. Montgomery books (Anne of Green Gables etc) would be awesome for a 10 year old.
