my 12 year old dd is at a friend's house, and she and I just had an IM conversation about what time I'll pick her up.

in my wildiest dreams I never imagined I'd be talking to my child on a computer.

.........or getting in contact with old highschool friends, or making airline reservations, or buying chocolate LOL, or having an online romance..........

the internet IS a wonderful thing.

You know. We really SHOULD have imagined it, BR. After all, this WAS the topic of the best ride in the universe, SpaceShip Earth!

lol, IM'd with DD when she slept over at a friends a few weeks ago. I use IM's to "talk" with my cousins who would otherwise be a long-distance phone call. As long as we don't get booted, we can be online with each other for a long time and not worry about the phone bill.

My daughter IM's me from her room! Usually its "whats for dinner mom?', but occasionaly its the "stick out your tongue" smiley. LOL:p :D

i im my dad instead of making long distance phone calls. :)

My DD does the same thing from her room. She will ask me what's for dinner or that she is going to go take a shower, etc.

My im is on about l4 hours a day. This is how I keep in touch with my two kids away at college.

Even if I am not sitting at the computer, they can leave a message. It's a lifesaver.

herc.
