The Pooh Ride

Is it really bad compared to DW? It's one of our favorite rides at DW, my son loves it, but the lines are usually long, and we almost always use fast pass. In ridemax the projected wait is always very short, so I am assuming it's not very popular. Is it a lot different that DW's version?

Personally, my boys (3 & 5) , DH and myself all really like the ride. We always end up going on it at least a couple of times a day when we visit DL. It's been about three years since I went on the WDW version, so I can't really compare them although I do seem to recall hearing the DL version is shorter. But I suspect a big part of the difference in popularity is the location- in DL Pooh is way off in Critter Country near Splash Mountain, whereas in WDW it's in Fantasyland which puts it more in the path of the younger kids.

We're not Pooh fans, but ds6 wanted to try it once. It's very short. The wait time for it was 1 minute and I don't think it went over that in our 8 days at the park.

We think it's a tad lame, but I'm sure younger kids and big Pooh fans would like it.

Indiana Jones on the other hand had us keeping the weight off because we went on it so many times and the walk to get on and off it was extensive.

Oh, I think it's a cute ride. Sometimes it's a bit of a shame that there isn't a line because the queue is very cute - it's the hundred acre wood! I love the "grass" it's like a clover and is very soft. The ride itself is a little bit lame but isn't a bad ride at all, they just used some plywood type creations when i feel characters could have been more dimensional. Really, though, it's cute. There's just not a single storyline to it - it's a compilation of many Pooh stories in snippets. Your DS will like it and I have a sneaky feeling you will, too.

As squidmo said, it's a bit hidden, which is why it usually isn't busy, and the cars circle through quickly.

I haven't been to WDW so I can't really compare them but if your DS likes Pooh then I would imagine he would like it. My DD's love it, they are 5 and 2 and we always ride it a couple times, especially because there's never a wait. But I think that the lack of a wait probably has a lot to do with it's location way up in critter country. But we still think it's cute and while the grownups are doing Splash we always take the little ones on that multiple times!

Well, we like it and it's in the perfect location for us b/c it gives the person waiting for Splash Mtn baby swap something to do with our youngest. She really enjoys it as well. It's definitely geared toward the younger kids though, but I don't mind doing it a few times with her either.

I've been on both and I think there's little difference in the ride.

The line difference has to be due to location. Pooh at DL is way, way back in the corner of the park. I'm sure that a lot of families with tots who don't plan on riding Splash never make it back to that corner.

We always ride it a few times at DL because of the lines and only ride it once at WDW. We like it.

Its pretty much the same ride as WDW version, if I remember correctly, the rainstorm room, pooh meets tigger room, the heffalump and woozle room, the honey room, and the party room.

The Main drawbacks are:
1. so far in the very very back corner of the park
2. its boycotted since it replaced the Country Bears

But the pluses outweigh that, since it is a walk-on, which is very easy for my little ones, so it one of the few rides that you can get on, walk around and get back on!

This ride is pretty much the same as WDW's with a difference in the actual ride movement. DL's is like a miniature Indy or Dinosaur because the actual cars move as well as move along the track. MK's is similar, but travels like a regular dark ride for a lot of the ride. The scenes are very similar. DL's is way easier to get on. I have not waited more than 5 minutes for the ride, including times during Spring Break, President's Week, and before Christmas.

To me, the best things about DL's Pooh ride involve everything but the ride itself! The que is really neat, the cars themselves are so cute and you hear bees buzzing around. There is rarely a line over 5 minutes. There is almost always a character meet outside the ride (Tigger or Pooh), and a lot of other good photo op's in the immediate area. And let's not forget the heavenly bakery with tasty treats and gift shop right there. I have seen a few souvies there, planned on getting them at the WOD store and discovered they are only at the store by Pooh . Anyway, it is a cute ride with a catchy tune, but not any more special than any FL dark ride.

We always do as others said, and take the kids too little for Splash on it while waiting for the big people to ride Splash. It's a very cute ride, and we like to listen to the soundtrack of it in the car. It's on the 50th anniversary CDs. Ds and I would always see how many times we could ride it while dd and dh were riding Splash. But we always get sidetracked at the bakery/souvenior shop at the end of the ride. Tigger Tails....mmmmmmm

Like others said, I think because it's separated from Fantasyland, it's never busy. Our granddaughters loved it and at night,when there was no line, we rode it over and over and over without getting off. It's cute for a dark ride.

If the wait for DL's version of Pooh is that short, we will try it out. I don't think I've ever seen WDW's Pooh at less than 30 or 40 minutes. We ALWAYS have to FP that ride!
