To find out how many points it "costs" to stay at a particular resort in a specific room type (studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom), click on the link at the top of the Forum that is titled "
DVC Points Calculator". Or y0u may get there by
clicking here.
Select the resort, your day of arrival and day of departure as well as the room type. The calculator will return the number of points required.
An alternative to the calculator is the
point chart. There are links for the specific resort charts on the same page as the calculator. Some people feel the charts are easier/quicker to use than the calculator.
Points have no value to a non-member. Only a member can make a reservation and if you "rent points", you are really renting a reservation. Most members base the cost of a reservation on the number of points required to secure it. The cost/point varies - the average is currently $10-/point.
If you read some of the posts on the Rent/Trade Forum, you will get an idea of how the point costs vary.
It's a good idea to read the FAQ on renting before you enter into any agreement/transaction to rent.
