The point is moot!

I had a boyfriend that used to term "sorta speak" instead of "so to speak". I actually had to stop and remember which one was correct sometimes because he said it so often.
 
Does anybody go to the theater (pronounced thee-ate-r)?

I know I'm wandering off topic with this one but I hear people say this all the time. It just sounds strange.

Back to the topic at hand.

We took a field trip to Washington DC in the fifth grade. One of the sites we visited was Ford's Theater. My teacher pronounced it thee-ate-r and it wasn't until we actually got there that I realised that it was just a theater - I thought I the thee-ate-r was something new and wonderful.
 

Took my kitty to the vet this morning and the vet kept mentioning how I'd need to vacuum the whole house, including the addict, to get rid of fleas. So if there are any addicts living in my attic, watch out for the vacuum!!
 
Ok, I have one, which I don't use because I honestly don't know which is correct.

I have a "beat" on something...

Or

I have a "bead" on something...


I've heard people use both, but which one is correct?
