Your thoughts on The Plaza Restaurant's food and whether you think it would be necessary to make advance reservations for the 2nd Tues in Sept (weekday, kids back in school, may not be quite so crowded). Is this the type of restaurant (if there is such a thing anymore) that most likely one could get seated without hours of waiting without a reservation?

you should be able to get into the plaza restautant without much wait. it is actually one of the easier places to get a walk up reservation. It looks like you will be in disney the same time that i will be there with the family. :cool1: :cheer2:

We were there last year during the week after Labor Day and we had an ADR and they were turning people away. I would make an ADR if I were you. We are going again this year on our last day at Disney for lunch as it has become a must do for us. Between my DH and I, we have had the cheeseburgers, the reubens, the grilled chicken, the club sandwich, etc. Everything is outstanding and huge. The shakes are great, and the sundaes--oh, the sundaes! :worship:

I'd make an ADR. It's free dining season and although the plaza is a less popular restaurant, it is in MK. Last year during FD (actually the same time your planning on being there) there were signs posted at the entrance that there were no available dining times in the entire park. Be on the safe side, plan ahead.

ALLWAYS ALLWAYS ALLWAYS Make ADRs if you think you want to eat at a restaurant!

You can allways cancel that ADR later if you don't want to use it.

I love the Plaza. It is the first restaurant I think of when I think about eating at WDW. The food is not fancy but very good. Its a relaxing time out from the craziness of the MK. It is the one place we've gone to every visit to MK.
I would (and always do) make an ADR.

Stupid question I always here about the Plaza but where is it exactly in the MK. I know I have overlooked it somewhere.

I've never noticed it either, at least I don't remember it. I just looked it up, it looks like it's at the end of Main Street, near the bakery, across from Casey's Corner.

Walk down Main Street to the Ice Cream Parlor across from Caseys, take a right towards the noodle station. The Plaza is on your right between the Parlor and the restrooms.

We have waited 30-45 minutes WITH ADRs during slower times (the only time I go). The only time I don't need an ADR is if you show up at 11:00AM to get one of the first lunch seatings. We've eaten there at least 50 times and most of the times they are turning people away or telling them an hour wait. Make an ADR even if it's the night before or the morning of from your resort.

I dont know about the ADR we make ADRs for everything regardless just to be sure. As far as the food goes, I was slightly dissapointed. Not because the food was bad but it just appeared unimaginitive to me. If you like the menu http://allearsnet.com/menu/menu_pr.htm then you should like the food, because it was basically exactly what you would expect to get from anywhere.

Totally agree! :thumbsup2

If you are happy to have CS as your backup plan, then you can give it a shot without an ADR. But if you are counting on any TS during free dining, get a reservation!
