Hello---I am planning a trip in mid-april with my family of 3, and my SIL and her family (SIL, BIL, and 2 boys). I have booked a 7:30 ADR at the Plaza at the MK for the one night that we will be there for the parade (9pm) and fireworks (10 pm).

I am wondering a couple of things---1. does The Plaza get backed up a lot? Should we assume a wait time for being seated?

2. Assuming we are seated promptly, and finish up in a normal time frame, I am thinking we are heading out probably close to 9; right into the Hub/Main Street madness.

So, is that a crazy idea? I just don't know how much either one of our families will take the crowds. Is there any strategy, or some spot that we can head right to that might be less congested once we get done with dinner?

We usually like to watch the parade from liberty square/frontierland, but I know we won't be able to get there in time. Most likely.

Just sort of wondering if we should cancel, and maybe just try to book the Dessert Party instead. But, I kinda hate missing the parade.

:confused3

I love eating at the Plaza. I think you should try for an earlier time if you want to view the parade (especially from Liberty Square). You will be on the wrong side of the street to get to Liberty Square fast. There is usually a wait for a table but if you get there a little early they might be willing to seat you before your time. Yes, you will just be getting out right at parade time and it will be wall-to-wall people at the Hub. You can try walking towards the castle on the side walk toward Liberty Square and if it is before 9 pm you might be able to get across the bridge and into LS. Good luck:yay:

After I posted, I decided to go ahead and move the ADR time for exactly the reasons you mentioned; so now we are at 6:20. this should give us plenty of time to eat, and decide where we want to be. So, we should be able to get out of the hub/Main Street and back into LIberty Sqare; or decide to brave the crowds. But, either way, we will have more flexibility to decide our fate!

Thanks for the advice!

:)

I think you made a very wise decision. I especially like the turkey club sandwich on 7 grain bread. Enjoy!!!!
