I have never had any, but sometimes, I think I'd like to have a mild chemical peel to even out my skin tone a bit. I was wondering if anyone here has has ANY kind of plastic surgery, and whether you felt that the outcome was worth the risk and expense of it.

Oh, and if you don't feel it's to personal, I'd love to hear how much whatever procedure(s) you had cost.

I'd love to have some work done! ;) Unfortunately, all my extra money goes to Disney. :teeth:

But, I'm nosy, :teeth: so I'm subscribing. :teeth:

Can they lipo cellulite?

If so...I might be interested....if not...what's the point ;)

The extent of my "extreme" makeover is crest white strips and marathon training and pilates. Might look into some cremes for crows feet..but not sure I could ever let a knife near my face to fix anything.

Count me in as subscribing!

I had rhinoplasty when I was in college. I shattered my nose coaching gymnastics and the tip of my nose pointed directly to my left (so the right side of my nose faced forward). They straighten it so I wouldn't have breathing problems later in life. But, since I was going under anyway I asked the Dr. to do a little minor shaping. It does look better and my family paid very little for the surgery because it was deemed medically necessary.

I know I would NOT have done the surgery if it was just cosmetic. I was awake the entire procedure and the local anestigic was very painful. The best (not to be too graphic) was throwing up blood a few hours after. Try throwing up and having your nose stuffed full of gauze. FUN FUN FUN!

Reduction mammoplasty (bustline reduction) 15 years ago. Cost at that time was over $11,000. No doubt the cost now would be horrible! Best thing I ever did.....went down 4 dress sizes instantly!

I haven't had "plastic surgery"..........but I have had my teeth whitened (Britesmile $500) and last month had Lasik surgery ($4500). These were "gifts" to myself and if/when I decide to do something else.......I will research it as thoroughly as I did these two procedures.

Go for it.

I had Lasik last month.
If I was going to do something, and had the money, I would like to have an eye job. Get the brows lifted, or the fat pockets sucked out of my top eyelids. When I get tired, they are so heavy and droopy, sometimes I can see my top eyelashes.
Second choice-maybe a bit of a lift....
My MIL had a face peel a few years back. Her face was red for about 5 weeks, peeling, and sore. She had age spots and freckles, and wanted her skin tone evened out. Honestly, it didn't look a whole lot different to me....

*If a Plastic surgeon came up to you and said he would do one thing free, what would it be?

I haven't had plastic surgery but if ever I did it would be for a tummy tuck. No matter how many sit-ups I've done, I can't get my stomach to look like it did before I was pregnant.

I had a breast reduction 9 years ago and due to some complications I was in surgery about 3 hours longer than I should have been and had to stay overnight, which I wasn't scheduled to do. However, because I had so many back problems insurance paid for the whole thing... more than $18,000!
:earseek:
I would definitely do it again though, they removed more than 6 lbs. of tissue and cured my back problems overnight! It was the best thing I ever did for myself.

Breast augmentation - 5100.00 - best money I've ever spent. I went from a barely AA cup to a full C and I look much, much better. I'm no longer a pear-shaped woman - my hips and chest match up nicely.

And - the best part is I can actually wear pretty clothes now - shopping was a horror for me before. :)

hmmm plastics surgery yup.. facial recunstruction to the tune of 19 times on the t able so far and many more to go,, still waiting to see if we are going to try and make eyelids this year:)

My sister had rhinoplasty and her buccal fat pads removed in her cheeks. It started very innocently but has snowballed into something that I believe, is unhealthy. She's never satisfied with her appearance. She's always talking about her "next nosejob" or "when I get my ****s done". She goes once every couple of months for Restalyn (sp?) injections in her lips and botox in the forehead. So, I believe that if you can keep it healthy -- GO FOR IT! If it makes you feel better about yourself, that's wonderful.

$4,500 for breast augmentation.....would do it again in a heart beat~at 5'10 I was flat as a board, and my hips looked huge!!! Now I have the wonderful hour glass figure...and clothes actually fit better now...

I had an extended abdominoplasty with hernia repair March 18th of this year. I have a breast reduction and thigh liposuction scheduled for August 23rd.

The best thing I ever did for myself, next to having gastric bypass!

Giving this a bump...any more of you out there? :hyper2:

I'm currently saving for a tummy tuck. I can't wait!!!!

I had a breast reduction done 12 years ago. It cost me $25, but the actual surgery was closer to $15,000. I'd have to pull out the insurance papers to tell you exactly how much it was. it was such a large amount I figure it was a paper worth saving.

Had Lasik done last year. cost me $4,000. If I could afford more, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I had a light chemical peel at my dermatologist's office. It didn't hurt at all; just a little stinging while the chemicals were being applied. Starting on day 2 until about 5-7 days after, my face peeled like a sunburn. It helped smooth out my skin and actually firmed it a little.

I was just wondering how many of you are willing to tell people in real life that you've had plastic surgery? I have no problem with it - especially since people that know me would definitely notice the difference.

But for new people, I keep that info secret. ;)
