The pitfalls of dining alone

I’m not sure. I’m going there semi regularly and some servers even recognize me now and say hi even if someone else is serving me. When my server came back to me, I’m not sure why he only got me the beer, but that might have been something he could have done himself.

Found this.

After they decided to change their tip, I'd never go back. I have never had that happen to me and we eat out often.

Wouldn't have worked. The server knew since I told him I was going to be there for the entirety of the Super Bowl game. The busboys don't necessarily communicate with the servers.

And I didn't get a replacement for the food. I sent a message to corporate and I'm just hoping they make this right. This was also the same location that previously added a tip (I left a cash tip) to my check without my authorization. I get that often they're quickly punching in totals to reconcile bills, but it really annoyed me.

I'm thinking of taking something like printer paper with me next time and writing a note and folding it over. Maybe with a bit or sarcasm?
I'm thinking this is a restaurant I would never return to!

They should have replaced the food. We were in a restaurant in New Orleans (Domenica) and were done with dinner. One diner had 3 pieces of pizza to take home. As the waitress cleared the table and turned around, the remaining pizza slid off the pan and onto the floor. They replaced the entire pizza, and comped us coffee (as nobody wanted dessert) while we were waiting for the pizza to cook. That right there is customer service!

That's terrible but best guess is this was deliberate because a table of one spends a whole lot less than a table of four, nevermind the tips. On a big booze and food day like the Superbowl it's all about the $ so if you wanted to really keep the seat you would need to outspend and out tip other tables. If you had been handing the server a bit of $ here and there it wouldn't have happened, unless the manager was the one pushing to get more people in seats, which is also possible. Maybe if you asked the server to keep an eye out for an empty bar seat asap it would have gone differently. Doubt any sort of note would have worked since coat on chair is the universal sign of occupied. Shame this happened to you.

There was a lot of stuff that was different. One was no available bar seats at all, and pretty much nobody at the bar left because they were there for the Super Bowl. Otherwise that's my preferred spot at the bar.

I was at a small table for two, or maybe three with an extra seat. They were bringing tables in all the time and I had to dodge a few times where a manager was bringing in more tables. There were a lot of groups of two at tables that could seat four or six.

I'm not giving up on a place I like just because of a few glitches here or there. I'm just hoping they make it right.

Oh I agree completely, you shouldn't have had to move at all. Also saying lots of people in the world don't care about should, they just do & there isn't much that can be done about them.

You might have a better chance at a replacement meal if you calmly talk to a manager this week and explain the "misunderstanding" that took place.

Finally got a response from corporate. Took a few days but I got a $25 gift card for the trouble. That more than makes up for the food and the previous tip they docked off my gift card without authorization.

I still remember a server RIPPING into me for clearing a patron’s table when I was a hostess at Chili’s trying to cover for the underage busboy’s break.

No malicious intent — just a lack of communication in an understaffed environment.

I understand mistakes can be made and they're not typically malicious.
