Well, I guess I can't say I have never gotten any. Both me and my husband have received two lately that were the same 30% offers they gave GP but with free hoppers on the ticket. It is so weird that SOOO many people magically get the pins they want?

Anyhoo, hugs to my pinless peeps! We'll get thru this. (but so help me if you get a pin you're out! )

What dates are u going? And u want the free dining PiN? Can u move your trip to fit the GP offer?

I have NEVER received a pin, and we have been going to Disney since 2006. I do get emails from Disney Destinations, just never a pin. I'm really hoping this is the year, as we don't plan on returning to Disney again for several years (won't go when DD16 is a Senior and probably won't go while she's in college).

We did end up moving our August trip to Septembert with the free dining because as 4 adults doing a 'grown up' Disney trip it was a better deal. I just would like to stay at POR because everyone seems to love it so much. And maybe I just want to feel loved by Disney with a neat pin...

Great idea for a thread!

My name is dis_guy ("hi dis_guy"), and I've been pin-less since 2010.

We started going in 2008 and when the first pin email came we were thrilled! Got a couple each year until.....they stopped!

Since then we've been "outsiders".

Sadly, I am in the pinless club. I've tried everything I know to get a pin, an account for each email address, constant playing on the Disney site, all to no avail. I've decided that I'm going to call & ask about it every day until they are so sick of me, they will just give it to me to shut me up, lol. For our trip, we check out the day before the regular free dining starts & we can't reschedule.

No you just have to be n their system.

I'm in the club. Family of 5 currently booked at Sports with free dining. But REALLY wish I had a pin so we could switch to POR and add a few nights to our trip.

what exactly does this mean, in their system? when I call Disney do I ask am I in your system? I know they have/confirm our email the few times I have called them to see if there are any unique offer codes. Desperatel praying for some pixie dust that we receive a pin for POR!

If you have an account with them of some sort you are in heir system (MDE, Disney store, etc). If they can look you up and pull up a profile for you when you call you are in heir system.

I signed up on their website an account for my husband and myself. My husbands email got one during our last visit (stayed offsite). I also got one sent in the snail mail just last week. They are both 99% identical to the GP offers for a RO discount.
Can you sign your kids up? Hmm. Although it isn't worth bringing them on our awesome grown up trip to get the deal

you guys still have time to go before you really feel pinless...

We have been over 40 times since the late 90's and NEVER got a single pin offer...EVER

there is the old theory that those who go often dont get pins because they know your coming anyway!!!

Our close friends who have gone with us around 10 or so times got 3 pins this year alone.

I've gotten ONE PIN in my life and it was for the same dates as my bounceback reservation.

I now get PINs on my work email address but are tied to my parents address. This is because I booked a reservation for them a few years ago.

When I called about wanting to use one of them, they said that the two people listed on the PIN were my mother and my DS13. Last year, they let me use it because he was listed there and it was my email address, but had to go thru guest services.

So I have accepted the fact that I'll never get a pin and decided to upgrade our resort reservation from Pop to CSR Business Class, since it's the last Disney trip we will be taking for awhile. Both times I have been stuck on hold and unable to get a CM and had to hang up before I got a live person on the line. I've never had such trouble getting through except when FD was released.

Now I'm starting to wonder...maybe this is God's way of telling me I shouldn't waste the extra $800?

Or could I go online, book a new ressie, and call back at a different time to cancel our original Pop ressie?

I am on hold to cancel a ressie (couldn't get decent flights that day)...You won't get thru to do that either This is my third time attempting. I keep giving up after 2hrs!

I had a really helpful CM just now when I called with some questions and to check for a PIN. I don't have the PIN but he told me he had helped two other customers today that DID have it but there is no availability at POR. He said the PIN codes currently at POR still have some availability in Sept but that's about it. He also mentioned that from the calls he has taken over the last week it appears lots of people booked POR ahead of time and are slowly canceling because now they can't add the free dining to their POR reservation. He said the wave of PINS that may still come out will totally depend on what happens over the next couple months. If a good bit of people cancel their POR resides because they can't get free dining, it increases the odds of more pins going out. But currently even if you have a PIN availability at POR is next to none.
