"The Perfect Gift" ideas for 1 and 3 yr olds

Leaving on the May 1st Wonder and we are so excited - OUR FIRST CRUISE!

From reading the boards I thought we would get 2 gift baskets from "the perfect gift" that will be in the room when we arrive. I have looked at the website and they had some cute ideas. For those of you who have used "The Perfect Gift" what are some other good items to have in there for a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old?

Also, I read on one post that someone sent things to "the perfect gift" to add to the baskets? Would love any thoughts.....

I'm here visiting Shirley at her shop The Perfect Gift this very minute. I am letting her know about this thread, but right now Shirley is very busy working on baskets that need to get out today. I'm sure Shirley will reply when she has a free minute, but it might not be today.

Like Andy said, Shirley will get back to you.

Just tell her what your kids like and she will take it from there. My DD loves Dr. Pepper, ballet, horses.....and she has had baskets with all of that type of stuff in them. As well as whatever type of snacks they like.

Shirley says that DD has now had everything in her shop in a basket, so last basket had binoculars, a camera, a radio, snacks and DR. PEPPER....

She will take care of you.....

Hi Wc80. My family is sailing on that same cruise. We have a 2 and a 4 yr old which has no clue that they are even going. Most definetly get in contact with Shirley. She can create any type of basket you need for the kids.

wc80--We left Shirley's shop at 1pm today, Shirley was exhausted after creating many, many, many beautiful baskets for quite a few families that are sailing on the Wonder tomorrow. I know Shirley and Norm are heading to the shop early Sunday morning, but like I said, they have many deliveries to make. It might be best if you tried calling the shop on Monday.

Shirley is the best Stopped in to say hello to her before my April 2 cruise and make sure all the payment stuff went through since I had been on the road a few days.

Something she did for me was a basket with a sand pail and toys. I ended up donating mine when I left the ship. Never got to use them Castaway Cay was a rain out Everything was greatly appreciated though

Good morning,
You know sometimes I really forget how blessed I am when it comes to friends -Barb and Tony stopped by the shop Thursday - they had gone to meet the family of a young man named Christopher who is 13 yrs old and is in serious health challenged and he was getting ready to go with his family on the Wonder - Barb and Tony fixed a bunch of stuff for the children and after they met the family came down to the shop and spent time with Norm and I.
I have know them for a few years now and they are a great couple and very giving. Yesterday Norm and I had a lot going, lo and beho- I look up and there is Andy (Verandaman) hiding behind his mom - they decided on a spur of the moment to drive down to see us - again we spent a great time with them and again we discussed children that sail on the ships that have challenges. Andy has more than once jumped right in and helps me with the wish children that go on the cruises. He has been kind enough to offer to make Christoper a tee shirt after he returns home so he can wear the memories of his cruise.
Andy had a birthday on April 20th and with everything on my mind, I forgot to post it on the board. As everyone knows, there isn't too much that this young man hasn't done for folks and he nor his family has never failed to help me. There are so many out there that are so kind and so great.

anyhow I got away what the quist of this thread, I do allow those that want to send stuff down to add to their baskets to do so - it saves you monies and it does make the gift basket more personal - as for young children, I try to advise the parents that since the children are so young, to try to keep their gifts to a small amount - the children are already so overwhelmed tho I will work with you to try and decide what is best.
During the Mother's Day week, I most likely will be slammed so if your gift basket isn't for that week, just wait until right after.
I wish for each of you a very bright and wonderful coming week.

I sent down Disney PJs for each of my kids that I picked up on sale on Disney Direct - and it was one less thing to pack. DD and DS shared one sand pail, and Shirley was nice enough to put a few younger-age-appropriate items in them, in addition to some kid snacks and a disposable camera. DD loved it! (DS was under 2, and he only knew that he wasn't left out!)

My DD was 18 months when we sailed and Shirley did a GREAT basket...it was a sand pail with loads of snacks, drinks and I sent down a Pooh pillow for her to include....DD loved it and it was a welcome suprise!!

Just wanted to let you know, Shirley and her team were fabulous!

Got a basket of sand toys and snacks for the kiddies and Coronas and Limes for the hubby and me!

Looking forward to seeing my son and husband's faces when they see that Buzz lightyear and Minnie left them some treats!
