Are they park guides for hire? Any special priviliges? I saw a ton of them over the past week.:confused3

I'm pretty sure they're guides for hire. I've heard it's quite pricey per hour and you have to hire them for a minnimum of 6 hours. I think I've heard that on a couple of rides they've shown people the back way or something and have gotten to skip the line. However, I don't think they do this on every ride because a guide with the plaid vest and gold D and a family were waiting behind us in the line for Dinosaur.

more plainly, they're guest relations. guest relations (along with the disney institute) run the tours. not just VIP tours either.

here's a photo i found through google.

red are MK guest relations, blue is Epcot.

:thumbsup2 They act as private guides, but also run the daily tours like Keys to the Kingdom.

and they're guest relations. if you go into guest relations, you'll see they're all wearing plaid. that's at both WDW and Disneyland (original costumes designed by Lillian Disney - at disneyland, they have riding crops too).
