The Palm @ Hard Rock-Universal

I am a SERIOUS steak lover so, of course, my favorite restaurant for steak is Ruth’s Chris. We usually only go on special occasions. I’d like to try The Palm at the Hard Rock Hotel @ Universal because I’ve heard they are similar to RC.

But I also have restaurants like Black Angus Steakhouse, Charley’s Steakhouse or Manny’s Chophouse on my “Restaurants to try” list and wondered how they measure up as far as a quality, service and price? Has anyone tried any of these lately?

I have not been to Palm in Orlando, but I've been to several around the country. Yes, they are like a Ruths Chris...I think the steak is better at RC, but prefer some of the sides at Palm. The bag of donuts dessert at Palm is also a favorite As for the others you mentioned, I wouldn't really consider them. The original Charley's by the Florida Mall is great, but the rest are just so-so...

While not on your list, I think that Del Frisco's and Morton's are generally considered at the top of the list for Orlando-area steakhouses.

Ahhhh...I knew I could come here and get helpful answers.

And Detailor, I think you've been helpful to me a few times in the restaurant recommendation area....or maybe I just read a lot of your threads and take your advice .

I think The Palm has just been bumped by DelFrisco's after taking a look at their menu. OMG at the humongous lobster tail!!! Now HOW am I gonna convince DH to let me have both (steak & huge lobster tail).

But I think I'll wait until we stay onsite again and visit Palm. I'll have something under my belt to compare it to...apparently a very good contender.

Ive been to Charleys and was not impressed. However, I've been to the Flemings in the Dr Philips area that is excellent.
