The 'other' Pete's rant

That's what sponsorship is serving a product because it's the sponsor. You're reasoning would meant at a restaurant sponsored by Coke would serve Pepsi instead of Coke.

The point I was making was that the fact that a ride or a restaurant was sponsored by anyone doesn't bother me, stick your signs all over the place, I don't mind. The other point was I don't like Starbucks coffee.

Sponsorship of a ride and Restaurant are different things though. Starbuck is only served in four locations in the disney parks in WDW plus the two in Disneyland and ones in Downtown Disney, however they are not the only coffee served. And if you don't like Starbucks don't buy it.

Seriously? This was a tongue in cheek post about ranting, mine was also a tongue in cheek reply. There were other comments about the sponsorship signs being posted in the parks, some like them some think they shouldn't be there, my comment was it doesn't really bother me if they are there or not, no matter who the sponsor is. Part of the other comments were about whether or not people liked Starbucks coffee, some do some don't. I don't, and no I don't buy it.

I get it not everyone likes sponsorship or ads. It helps pay for the upkeep of the parks and restaurants and stuff. It's like ads on public transit, people talk about not liking it and how they should put up art instead, but it all comes back to money and if they can get money from a sponsor insted of raising tickets to a thousand dollars a day then they will take the money from a sponsor.

On the topic of coffee, the Canada pavilion really needs to put in a Tim Hortons kiosk.

Like, urgently needs to.
I've never had Tim Hortons coffee, but would LOVE to try it, since I'm always hearing about how fantastic it is, like Kona.

I'd love it too but WDW won't pay the license. Think that's what happened to Beavertails. :(
Wow - always wondered what happened to the Beavertails - I was't a huge fan, but I know peeps who LOVED them. Just thought they were somehow a "generic Canadian thing", didn't know there would be licensing involved - see - I learned something from my fellow posters yet AGAIN! :)

As far as Tim's goes it may be that neither party has approached each other about it.

Beavertails leaving the Canadian Pavilion wasn't a licencing issues as much as it was the company that held the licee went out of business and Beavertails was scaled back a bit. They are now opening more permanent locations again after having a few in temporary location or seasonal only locations.
