I did, back in 1987, so I'm not sure I can tell you anything that would still apply today, but honestly it wasn't really any different from any other train ride. I was traveling second class, so perhaps the first class cars were something special. The scenery was very nice, though.
I recall there was a phone on the train, and that was a BIG DEAL then (I don't recall phones being available on other trains, and I called my parents as a novelty. I still remember telling Daddy excitedly, "I'm calling you from the Orient Express!") but I'm sure now that everyone just uses their cell phones. Lots of trains now have wi-fi too.
