The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I just wanted to pop in and wish Lin an easy delivery! I couldn't be happier for you guys, and I can't wait to see baby Connor!!!

Hey All!

We got back from WDW early today. We had a great time. I found a few cool things at the Character Premier outlet for CHEAP. One was a picture of the Fab Five looking at the park icons and below are coins with the icon of each park ($4.99) and then four pictures of each park, the rides for that park, and Mickey ($1.00 for all). I'm not explaining them well at all, so I need to take a picture.

The F&W was fun. We used most of our snack credits there and made that lunch one day. We also tried Wolfgang Puck Express and Mara for the first time. WGP was great and probably one of the best CS meals we have ever had. We had Mara today and it was also good. Of course, I didn't get to try the carrot cake there, because Spencer launched it onto the floor.

I took a ton of pictures and am in the process of uploading them.

However, as soon as we got back MIL started in on her crap. It is to the point that my mom offered to let us stay with here for a bit until we find a place, just so we can get out of FL. She even said we should start driving tonight. I am seriously tempted...

We got the same thing (for the same price) at an Outlet down here a couple months ago! How funny- now we have 2 of the same framed pictures. :) Too bad your trip wasn't a week later- we could've met up again!! BTW- I was laughing pretty hard at the pictures of your 'celebrity sighting'!! ;):lmao:

So sorry your MIL is still giving you trouble. That must be soooo hard to deal with!! Whatever you guys decide, I'm sure it will be the right decision for your family!! I'm not so sure how much you would like living with your Mom though...something to think about!

My Mom and I are leaving Tuesday for Disney! We decided to add the 3rd night, but instead of staying a day later we are leaving a day earlier. It works out because they moved Epcot evening EMH to Wednesday night for some reason, instead of Friday night when it usually is. I'm sure being in Epcot Wednes. instead of Friday will make the Food & Wine Festival less crowded (atleast that's what I'm hoping!!)

I saw pictures of baby Connor on Facebook. He is seriously one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen!! We have some good lookin' kids on our thread. Hopefully I will be just as lucky when the time comes!!

Ashley, that is too funny you have the same picture! You have great taste. :)

I wish we could meet back up. Have fun at the F&W!

We do not want to stay with anyone, but my mom and brother were trying to convince us to just drive back last night. She said we could just come back for our stuff later. It's tempting, but I don't think it's the best idea.

I agree that Connor is adorable!! I think he has more hair than Spencer.

Lyzziesmom and Nicole, I hope your jobs are going OK. I hate workplace drama, but it's inevitable.

Amber, I am so sorry about your MIL. You will make the right decision for your family. I loved your pics on FB.

Ashley, have fun tomorrow!

Lin, how are you and Connor doing? He is a cutie!

How are you doing Lyzziesmom?

I saw the Toy Story Double Feature yesterday, it was good. Steven and I brought our nephew and after the first movie was done, he said that he wanted to leave. Then when we were almost to the car, he said he wanted to see the second movie and had a fit!!!.:headache: So we went back to the theater and thankfully they let us go back in!

Wow it's been slooow around here. My internet activity is monitored at work and I've been so busy with that job (which is probably going to end in 2 or 3 weeks), school and TDS. I'm so tired all the time. Both of my classes this quarter are very writing-intensive so there has been a lot of homework, and we now have no ASM at TDS. I've been angling for a promotion but my manager has really been dragging her heels on hiring anyone, we talked about it almost 2 weeks ago and she said she would interview me soon and hasn't gotten around to it yet. I'm going to be really mad if she hires someone else without giving me the opportunity.

Lin, congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! I loved how you said you learned that babies are hilarious... they really are.

My parents took me and the girls out to Texas Roadhouse for my birthday dinner last night. Lyzzie's best friend came with and the girls sang "The Fifty Nifty United States" through the ENTIRE DINNER! It was really cute... the first five or six times. Thank goodness it was loud in there. Even Emma was singing along after a while. It was just a "blah" day, dinner was good but they took so long that I filled up on bread & couldn't finish. Their rolls are just too yummy to resist! I already knew that my birthday/Christmas present was the Disney trip last month, but it was still disappointing that my parents didn't even give me a card or a token gift. That sounds horribly selfish, doesn't it? I can't help it, the day was a let down. Emma made me a card that says, "Happy Birthday Mommy, you're not too old to be a grandma." She thinks she's hilarious! (And she's kinda right.)

I love talking with you all every day on FB, but somehow it's just not quite the same as here. Wish I had more time to catch up. I hope everyone is doing great! Amber, Ashley... I'm still jealous that you both have been back to WDW already since we were there! It already feels like forever ago and it was just a month ago. Amber, I'm so sorry your MIL is still driving you crazy with her crap. I know how it feels, you can only bite your tongue for so long. Hang in there! Nicole, I hope your job is going ok. Lin, enjoy that sweet boy.

Goodnight!

Hey lovely ladies!

Lyzziesmom, I'm with you, facebook just isn't the same as the thread...but its so much easier to just post a status update! Its kind of a catch 22! I like being able to just talk to you guys, all togther, without everyone else knowing my business.

Sorry your Birthday was a let-down. That is always a bummer. I agree about the rolls at Texas Roadhouse...they are SO yummy! I don't know if things have changed, but back in the day that I was with TDS, under both WDC and TCP the DM was in charge of all ASM and SM hires. SM's could submit a name to the DM, who would then decide whether to proceed with an interview or not, but the store SM could really only make a recommendation to the DM. You might ask your SM about it...and next time you have a DM visit try to arrange to work that shift. Good luck!

Amber, your trip pictures are awesome! You guys look like you had a fabulous time. Sorry your MIL is causing the drama again. Spencer is such a cutie pie.

Ashley, your trip with your mom looks great! It makes me want to take another trip with my mom and sister! But, my mom has to have her own room because she snores loud enough to wake the dead! Hope you, and Ruby, had a great birthday!

Nicole, how is the work drama progressing? That is my least favorite part of all jobs, especially when they try to drag you into the drama with them. Glad you guys were able to get back into Toy Story! I wish we could have seen it!

Connor is doing well. Thanks for all the sweet comments! He is a sweet baby, and we are all learning as we go. I've been pretty frusterated and emotional the last couple of days, and am hoping that I can get stuff figured out before Chris goes back to work next week. I've never really been the motherly type, and keep panicing about things. Plus, everyone we know thinks they need to show up to visit, which is getting a little annoying. We have not had a single day that no one saw Connor. Family I don't really mind, even though my MIL is so sugary sweet that it sort of makes me want to barf, but all my friends don't quite understand the whole "we need a little time to ourselves, and the doctor recommended that we really limit visitors for a few weeks due to the flu outbreak" and just keep on asking to come over. I have pretty much stopped answering my phone...

Anyway, here are birthday presents for Lyzziesmom and Ashley!

For Lyzziesmom - these are my favorite bags ever!

For Ashley

I'm terrible about coming here. :guilty: FB is just so easy. I usually keep it running and just check in every so often.

Lin, too funny you posted that D&B purse. Mike offered to get me one for Christmas.

I have to say again that Connor is just beautiful!!! I love the pictures you posted. Sorry you are having issues with visitors. I was very upfront with everyone and they knew that I would invite them over when I was ready.

Lyzziesmom, sorry about your birthday. :grouphug: I don't think it sounds selfish to hope for some other recognition of your day.

Hi Nicole and Ashley!

I am so confused as to what to do regarding our move. We found out some things recently that make us think staying put might be the best thing for now. Still, we miss friends and I miss my family.

We had a talk with MIL and so far things have been going OK. She can be a great person, so it's frustrating when she starts with her crap.

Hope everyonehas a great day!

Hey girls!!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello!

The trip with my Mom was sooooooo much fun, even though it was extremely hot! I loved MNSSHP. It was great! Weird though- we got a bunch of crappy candy at the treat or treat stations (same candy at every station)but when we were leaving the CM's were handing out handfuls of the good candy. :confused3 That was a little annoying!!! I already want to go back!

We saw Toy Story 1 & 2 on Saturday. I thought the movies were really cute (I've only seen Toy Story 1 once when it first came out so I didn't remember it, and never saw Toy Story 2.) I was pleasantly surprised there wasn't a bunch of noisy kids there too!!!

Lin- you will get the hang of things soon with baby Connor! I just have to say again how adorable he is!! All those pics you are posting are giving me baby fever. Sorry about all the company, that must be so annoying. I agree with Amber, I would tell people I wasn't up to visitors for a little while, especially with this flu going around. Thanks for my purse, I've never seen that Dooney & Burke before!! It is super cute! I'm glad I brought earplugs this trip. My Mom snores super loud too (not that I don't- I've snored my whole life!) The earplugs only helped a teeny bit though. I guess I'm spoiled with Jeremiah, he doesn't snore at all. But after the first night I was so exhausted I fell asleep right away and didn't hear a thing!

Lyzziesmom- I miss posting on here too!!! I will have to make an effort to post more often. Have you given any thought to what you are doing after your temp job is over? Sorry your parents didn't make any effort on your birthday. That really stinks.:guilty:

Amber- glad things are starting to work out with your MIL!!! What do you think about this horrible HOT weather we've been having? I am really missing the Fall weather we used to have in Virginia. Fall was my fav time of year, it gets so beautiful when the leaves change!! I know about missing family though, even though I miss the season changes in Virginia I am alot happier here!!

Nicole- how are things going at JetBlue?? You need to take a trip down here with your flight benefits.;) We have the guest room all set up for you!!

Hi everyone!

Lyzziesmom, I'm sorry your birthday wasn't very good. I'm also sorry about your job ending soon.

Lin, Just tell everyone that you need a break from visitors, you deserve it! I'm getting baby fever too!

Amber, I hope things continue to work out with your MIL.

Ashley, I need to go visit! It's so sad, I have flight benefits (I can even fly on Southwest!) but haven't been anywhere!!! I really want to go to NYC, I'm going to have to go there before they give me the boot!

I am going to have to post more often too! FB is great, but there are things I like to talk to you all about and not everyone else on FB.

Work is going well, I have no idea when or if they are going to let us seasonal people go. I heard back from Yankee Candle, it was strange, they called me to set up an interview, but when I said I had to work, they never called me back. :confused3. So... I thought about it and I guess it's best I don't get a seasonal job. I can always pick up shifts at work (which I've been doing alot of lately) and make more money there versus working at YC. Also, I think I'm going to become a flight attendant. I like working at the ticket counter, but theres no money in it unless you become a supervisor. I do know I want to stay in the airline industry.

Oh, on Tuesday I saw a little girl at work who had just gotten back from Orlando, she was wearing a Cinderella dress and had a Disney button on. I had to resist the urge to say "Hi Princess"!!! I'm sure all my coworkers would have looked at me like I was crazy!!!

Nicole, being a flight attendent would be so cool! What kind of training do you have to do for that? Would it take you a long time to get to that point? Ah, you should have said it to her!

Connor had his two week check-up today and is going really well. He is at 9lbs .04 ounces, and 22.5" long. He is a very healthy little guy! Hope we can keep him that way with all this flu going around. Its tough because his pediatrician, the hospital staff and my ob don't want us to take him out in public until he is at least 8 weeks old...and its really really hard for us to just stay in, and its hard to leave him home with one of our moms for more than a couple of hours because of feeding issues. Plus, I get really bored at home and Chris goes back to work on Monday...eek.

How are the rest of you lovely ladies doing?

Hey girls!

Just checking in real quick before I go to my aunt Melanie's house for breakfast.

Jeremiah had an appointment with the Dr. today, follow up for his high blood pressure. It's still not where we want it, but it's getting better. We really have to start exercising more and eating better!! It is such a struggle though!

The weather here is absolutely gorgeous. I've been missing the changing of seasons that you don't really get in Florida. Of course its only in the 60's so its not very cold, but its a welcomed change and its a nice break for the electricity bill!! I've had all the windows opened up in the house.

 to everyone!!!

Ashley, glad to hear it went down. Hopefully they can get it all in line soon!

I am totally stressed out right now. I really miss my students, well the ones I see for rehearsal, not necessarily all the ones I have in class, and miss being involved in the show. I also do not feel cut out for the mom thing, I'm really struggling to balance things right now and had a total breakdown last night. Still feeling horrid today and have no idea what to do about any of it. Ugh.

Oh Lin, :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I wish I could give you a big hug!!!! I'm sure your students miss you like crazy!!!! You are cut out to be a mom. Since I don't have any kids, I can't give you advice, but I'm sure Lyzziesmom and Amber have tons of advice and support for you.

Hey girls!

Lin, so sorry you are having a hard time. I think you ARE cut out to be a Mom, you are just having a hard time adjusting. That is normal!! If you are feeling totally overwhelmed don't be ashamed to take help and talk to your Dr. I'm thinking of you girlfriend! And I'm always here for you on Facebook to chat, or even to call if you need someone to vent to! I am good to chat with during the late night feedings, I'm always up late. ;)

I got my blood results back today- my white blood cell count is still high.:confused3 That is worrying me. I am very annoyed because I called my Dr. several times and he didn't return my calls. Then I called AGAIN today so they just put me on the phone with the nurse practitioner. She told me my results and said they wanted to retest in 3 months. I asked her if I should be worried about it but she said no, if they were really concerned they wouldn't wait 3 months to recheck. If the count is still not down after 3 months I have to see a specialist. I really didn't need another thing to worry about.....:sad2: I wish I could've just spoken to my Dr., because I know him and trust him.

Oh Lin, I'm so sorry you are overwhelmed. It can be really hard, especially in the beginning when everything is new. Have you spoke to your doctor? It sounds like you could possibly have postpartum depression; it's common (my mom had it). If you need to talk/vent/whatever we are here for you. You can PM me too. :grouphug:

Hi to everyone else. I will pop back in, but I hear Spencer, so better run.

Thanks guys. It was really more of a combination of things that all happened yesterday. We are dealing with some major drama from one of the other high schools in our district, that I can't ignore because it directly affects our school, so the last 48 hours or so I spent a lot of time dealing with that issue. Then went up to school yesterday for rehearsal which was a great break from being at home, but reminded me that I miss working on the show. Chris is getting to work on it for me, and I sort of feel useless with my job because I can't be involved in it like I want to be. The main issue I'm dealing with with Connor is feeding. Its just stressing me out because its just not comfortable, and it is so incredibly time consuming... He won't take a formula bottle from me though, and last night i had just had a really yucky day and that just made it all implode. I feel much better today though.

Ashley, my mom says not to worry. She deals with major thyroid issues, hers doesn't function at all, and shes a nurse. She said testing every three months is normal, and they will adjust medication as needed after those tests. There are also lots and lots of natural ways to help balance your thyroid function on your own. A couple of my facebook friends from college have lots of info on it, so if you like I can have them send it to you. They post about it all the time.

Thanks Lin! Actually, I was worried about my white blood cell count. Apparently that is high. My thyroid tests came back and they lowered my dosage of meds, so I know testing that often is ok. I know they check those often. I'm just not sure why my white cell count is high and if it has to do with my thyroid or another issue.:confused3 They originally thought the count was high because I had the flu. Apparently a virus can cause the white blood cell count to be high. I haven't been sick for a couple weeks so the Dr. expected the count to go down. I need that test again in 3 months to see if the white cell count went down at all. If not I have to see a specialist (not sure what type of specialist) I am googling what can cause the white blood cell count to be high and it is scaring the you know what out of me.:scared1:

eta- I would also love to know the natural methods to help with thyroid issues if you know the info!
