Day 4 - The One With All the Thrill Rides

Tuesday 18 August

Hot and sunny again today. We were first into breakfast but we didn’t eat too much as we all felt too full up from the night before.

We got to the Park at 8 – it seemed quite a bit busier than the previous day. We went on Buzz twice. Husband was in fine form, scoring over 380,000. After the other 2 rode Space Mountain

we went over to Peter Pan before deciding to do the Studios at rope-drop again. We caught the paddy wagon back down Main Street, with Husband pressing his face against the bars and calling out for passersby to help him, claiming he was innocent.

Dtr ran to get in the queue for Crush and had only 31 people in front of her, which meant she and Husband were back out again by 10.15. Husband then got the chance to have his photo taken with his hero........Buzz Lightyear.

I had got FPs for TOT so at 10.30 we were able to go straight in. We sat and watched the world go by for a bit as it was already getting hot – then we went into the 11.15 show of Cinemagique. We saw the Good Morning Studios parade

and then it was time for the RnRC FPs I had picked up earlier. This was as good as a walk on through the FP entrance.

We left the Studios then to go back to the Park, where Dtr went in to Walts to request a window seat later on. Just then the Good Morning Main Street mini parade passed by.

We went into Frontierland to get FPs for BTM which seemed to be in the middle of a breakdown. Fortunately I managed to get FPs before they closed the machines.

Indiana had a wait time of 40 minutes so we decided to leave the Park and get baguettes at the station.......

We took these back to our room, got some crisps (from our ‘stock’) and drinks and ate our lunch sitting on the ‘patio’ outside our room.

After a doze Dtr and I went for a swim and a relax on the sunloungers around the pool. It was scorching hot in the sun and we definitely needed the sun protection cream that I had optimistically purchased at the beginning of the summer.

Back in the Park we went for our FP time for BTM, only to find the FP queue was roped off. It was so busy they were only allowing a few on at a time.

Fortunately they put an extra train on so we moved quite quickly and Husband and Dtr had their ride within half an hour.
Next we went for a ride on the keel boats as Husband had never been on them.

It was time for our meal in Walts and we were given a table with a smashing window view. The meal was excellent too.
After our meal we went on Snow White for the first time this holiday and then POTC. Indiana Jones was next, which meant they had ridden all the thrill rides in one day – quite a feat in summer. We walked passed BTM (which was showing a wait time of 60 minutes) and then went on Phantom Manor. It was very nearly 10 o’clock so Dtr and I staked out a place near City Hall to watch Fantillusion while Husband went for a drink at the Sports Bar. Dtr and I were sitting down at the front by the rope, waiting for the parade. You should have heard the people behind us tut when we stood up – did they really think we would stay sitting at kerb level and not see the tops of the floats after sitting there all that time? Did they not notice that everybody stands up as the parade starts? I just ignored them.

We watched the fireworks and then went to meet Husband and make our way back to the hotel.
