Tuesday 14 April

After a good night sleep we were up early and at the Park by 8.05. They hadn’t opened up yet, so we didn’t miss anything- I think they were waiting for us to get there!

We started off on Buzz and had 2 goes round – each winning a game. Dtr went on Space Mountain twice and then we crossed to Fantasyland. Pinocchio and Snow White were both shut which meant there was quite a queue at Peter Pan. By that, I mean it was 10 minutes long – certainly nothing like the queues that form later in the day.

We went on this and then decided to go to Salon Mickey. Our booking at the Magic Circus did not include breakfast, so we had taken some cereal bars with us but we thought a muffin at Café Mickey would also go down well. It wasn’t very busy at all – we were on our own most of the time.

The place looked quite tidy, apart from my stuff slung around. :)

We left there just before rope drop and went to queue at the end of Liberty Arcade for Frontierland. Dtr was off like the wind as soon as the music started and was the first in the queue for BTM. I collected 2 lots of FPs for later, then took a few photos while waiting for her to ride.

The riverboat getting ready for its first trip of the day.

After this first ride we walked to Indiana Jones – this was about 10.15 and I had to take my hoody off as it was quite hot already. As we walked back towards BTM we saw Mr Smee and Captain Hook coming out of the side entrance at Colonel Hathi’s. Captain Hook didn’t want to rest the book on the table, which was damp, so he leaned on Dtr’s back instead. :lmao:

The first FP was used and Dtr was quickly off and ready for the second. Unfortunately the ride broke down and so we ended up queuing for about 30 minutes for the second ride. This was still much quicker than the normal queue of course.

We did go over to see if Casey Jr was open but it was closed all day as was LPDCDF. :guilty: We strolled back to the Silver Spur ready for our lunch and then watched a bit of the much maligned Mickey show, which we found okay - plenty of energy and catchy songs.

When this was finished we went back down Main Street where I had a little look in Bixby Bros while Dtr watched Minnie’s Train go by. We caught our bus to the hotel for our afternoon nap – makes us sound like toddlers….or OAPs, doesn’t it?

On the way I took a couple of shots of the new banners.

Back at the Parks, we went into Disney Studios where I finally bought myself a lanyard and some pins to start off with. After this Dtr met Donald Duck

and then we settled down into a good spot to watch the HSM show. Fortunately this meant Dtr was called on 3 times to take part – by shooting basketballs into the hoop, by banging on the bucket with a kitchen utensil and to take part in the dancing. It is a great little show with good dancing and singing. The kids all seemed to enjoy it.

Oops - this day I took a lot of piccies, so I'll have to carry on later........

Next we watched Stitch Live – still cracks me up this show- he was on great form.

On coming out from there we got in good position for the Stars’n’Cars parade.

This was very good too and Dtr got 9 autographs – 7 of which she had never had before, so she was delighted.

The idea of the characters walking around signing, but with the crowd behind the parade barriers seemed to work. They had a lot of time to interact, both with the guests and with each other. Sully was in great spirits and the 3 villains were funny too.

We left Studios after the Parade and went to the main Park for a ride on IASW and then 2 on POTC.

I couldn't resist snapping the pretty flower beds and trees in blossom. As we have been more often in winter, it is still a novelty for me to see flowers at DLRP.

I took this view because.....well I just love it!

Still more work being done - not sure what here though:confused3

The Park closed at 8 tonight so we shopped for a couple of bits on Main Street and then went once more to Café Fantasia. There were showing the football in there (Chelsea/Liverpool) which surprised me a little. Tonight our nibble tray had mild salsa dip not cheese on it. Very yummy.

We had by this time discovered the delights of Virgin Ladas - triple yummy

100_1939Small.jpg

We had a bit more shopping to do in the Village, where most people seemed to be watching the football outside the Sports Bar – plenty of cheers as there were plenty of goals. We caught our hotel bus, walked through the bar area there only to find people sitting watching the football. It was just about ending but 3 goals had been scored in the time it took us to get from the Village to the Hotel! We were tired once again so were soon off to sleep.

That looks very close to where we stood for Cars n Stars too when we saw it the first time last month :goodvibes.

Great pics - more please!

Sorry, never came back - other things got in the way

Anyway - the Virgin Ladas are Pina Coladas without the alcohol. Just yummy and creamy and coconutty and pineappley. Scrumlicious.

The 'old hat' did come with us, but it was actually too warm to wear it.

Fantastic second day! The Stars n Cars looks brilliant and thats such a lovely photo with Aladin and Jasmin. The cocktail sounds nice lol.

What a great second day. Doesn't the park look better during the summer(ish) months with all the flowers...such a pretty park, shame it's lost a bit of it's edge since the early 1990's.

I love your DD'd hoody...may have to look out for a similar one in October :)

The Star's n Cars Parade looked awesome. When we went in May I really didn't like it...it might have been because the boys were tired and cranky and it was pelting down with rain but it just came across as really dreary. I'll give it another go in October.
