My hair does grow fast. When I dye it , it has to be done within a certain time frame or within about two weeks you see those roots.

Mine grows fast too, it's cut every 4 weeks.

You know I think most of us on this thread or banned from the DIS can agree with this sentiment. You couldn't see the writing on the wall. I almost left this thread a year and a half ago. I hope you haven't driven Dana away now too.

Everytime I come into this part of the Dis, I look up and I see the words “Just For Fun”.

Just. For. Fun.


And then I get to a thread like the Lasting thread. A thread where I come to and share some of the things I wouldn’t want to share with 3D friends and family.
Why? Because the comparative security of typing information on a screen and communicating purely via written means seems much more ‘safe’ than putting the visual and non-verbal communication methods on top of it all. Where misunderstanding is not possible because of a facial expression or the tone of my voice. I also come here because the support and friendship and understanding that most of you and others in the past has provided keeps me coming back time and time again. A place for me to vent a little and a place where I feel free to be ‘me’. A place where I know or believed that I would get understanding and where it would be fun to hang out with friends-in-a-box. So the thread becomes a home, and suddenly it isn’t just for fun. The friendships and banter are as real to me as they are in real life.


Just. For. Fun.


Lately, it hasn’t been fun. Lately, I find that I come in here and find that seemingly innocuous statements and words written down to share for fun can be twisted and interpreted into ways that don’t seem to match my understanding of myself. Isn’t perspective grand?


Perspective. Everyone is entitled to their perspective. Just like everyone has free choice as to whether they stay on a thread or leave a thread.

Me? If I felt that in my perspective that I was in a situation where I was being bullied or uncomfortable about, I would walk away. Afterall, we’re all comparative strangers and adults on the Dis. No one is being forced to stay just as no one is forced to view things from different perspectives because we all have free choice and different outlooks in life. And the Dis has a wonderful option to Ignore and block out posts based on user names so that everyone has the choice to stay and play; and ignore posters that aren’t fun from different perspectives. That’s what free choice is about. Unlike real life, where you have to stay with no means of escaping the situation. But that’s me.


Just. For. Fun.


Queenie – I haven’t asked anyone to take sides nor to fight my battles for me. They are all entitled to their viewpoint and perspective. Until very recently, you have been all too willing to seek out the same support, friendship and understanding that the rest of us come in here to get from each other...as equals. No one rules or has a higher place on the lasting thread simply because we all equally need that support, friendship and understanding. That’s the beauty of this 2D box world we inhibit, everyone
is equal. Some days you need it; some days you give it.


You and I had a disagreement recently on some points and our friendship turned on that 5 cent piece.
I stand by my previous comment...I have no issue with us having differences of opinion or perspective. However, I do not enjoy the behaviour you show and continue to show of personally attacking someone just because they have a different perspective to yours. It wasn’t the first time you treated me like that and it certainly hasn’t been the last.
As I can only be responsible for my behaviour, I used my free will and chose to walk away rather than keep coming back for more of the same. Afterall, that’s what I would do if I were in a situation that wasn’t Just. For. Fun.


If you feel like I’ve been a bully because of the way I behaved, you are entitled to that opinion and perspective. But that is such a twisted perspective that I just cannot ignore it. Given my history with being the victim of bullying, I am not that person that you see me as from your perspective.
I can only reiterate… My. Free. Will – to not subject myself to what I consider to be personal attacks from my perspective, which in this equal world of ours, I am entitled to; just as you are entitled to yours. I do not seek to change your perspective nor respond to it nor to call you out nor ask those around us to take sides because that would be bullying in my book. I have chosen to ignore you in the hopes of co-existence on a thread that offers support, friendship and understanding but it would seem that is not possible.

I will only say that I stand by my behaviour because from my perspective, I do not believe that I have been bullying you and I would be more than happy for any scrutiny from anyone on the strength of my previous posts on any thread and how my behaviour has been on the Dis. It is all there in black and white for anyone to read and apply their perspective and filters to.

You PIO have systematically manipulated and changed this thread turning it into a cliq.

You confirmed this status and who was in and put when you decided and stated in black and white that skiing was a laster that counted and mattered. And that I was not.
I will go search for that post to show when I have time.
ETA - Locked threads are hidden...So I can't bring up the proof in black and white of what you said that caused the change.
But I do know what you said and the way you said it and the intent ... which was that I was not of any importance which is why this was the only time you had gone to these bizarre drastic measures despite you "normally" stopping for when "lasters" are away.
IE...not me...

From that moment you showed your true colours of how you judge people.

That is what changed me and mine.

That and the stress of my DBFs ex dragging him through every piece of legal crap she can just because she can
