I really should have paid better attention when this has been brought up in the past. Sorry about that. Now that the Disney resorts charge for valet service what is the normal tip to give and do you tip the person who takes your car as well as the one that brings it back? Husband always has in the past but have read conflicting things.

A buck or two is nice, usually only when they bring you the car.

More, or at dropoff if they help with extras like bags, wheelchair, etc.

I have asked the valets weather or not they split tips and have been told many times that they do not. Soooooo, whatever I am going to tip I divide between the valet who parks and the valet who retrieves the car. For me usually $1 or $2 each.

We usually tip a dollar for the valet...

Hi,

We always tip $2 at drop off and pick up. We did before the $6 per day fee and still do because the valets do not get any of the $6 fee. We tip at drop off and pick up because it is our understanding that the valets do not pool their tips.

My good friend from the boards "Minster" has recommended getting $2.00 bills from you local bank before you leave home and use these for tipping, instead of a bunch of single dollar bills! I thought this was a great idea!:)

I did a lot of research about this issue, and found that a majority of the "official" travel and vacation experts recommend tipping the valet ONLY when they bring the car to you. Theory seems to be that each valet will have an equal chance of bringing an equal number of cars back to guestsvfor pick-up. So even if they don't pool tips, they all "share" in the sense that they all get the same opportunity to be the one bringing the car back.
That said, I find myself tipping $2.00 both when I drop the car off and when I pick it up. Why?
Good question..
