;) Does anyone recall the "good old days" when Kraft sponsored the Land? The garden grill restaurant was a regular restaurant, not a buffet. It was a lot better that way,we think.Have only eaten there twice since Nestles took over. And what about the "Listen to the land" song on the greenhouse tour? Ahh,such memories;)

:p We also stopped counting after 100. Since you are from florida, do you take advantage of the florida residence seasonal pass and the disney dining and entertainment card. It sure does save a lot of money if you like to eat at wdw. And who doesn't?:D We are often amazed that as much as we know about wdw, we are also still learning:p

My family also loved the Land when it was sponsored by Kraft. I remember eating at The Good Turn when we went on the Gold Key package. The Symbiosis film is the only part I don't miss. I wish my DD could have seen Kitchen Kaberet. It was so much better than Food Rocks.

Veggie, fruit, fruit,
veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit...ole` cha, cha, cha!

You mean "Listen to the land that we all love"? I really miss that song (even though I don't remember the rest of the words I could hum it). I have a Walt Disney World Attractions CD that's about 10 years old-has that song, the old Tiki Room song, "Makin' Memories", and best of all, "Tomorrow's Child". But I also miss some of the old foods at Sunshine Season. They used Kraft ingredients, so even if they're sold now, they were better-the corn muffins (got the recipe), Chocolate chip cookies, and the BBQ ribs.

Simba's Mom,

I have that cd also and I miss a lot of the old Epcot theme songs,
Listen to the Land & Tomorrow's Child, but also the Energy song. If you ever listen to Magictrips Radio, they play a lot of those classic ride songs. One of my favorites is the If You Had Wings theme.

When did the Garden Grille become a buffet? We ate there in May 2001, and it was a restaurant with a rotating dining room, where you could see the Listen to the Land ride, and the food was served family style to the table. It was quite good, too!

We too were at the Garden Grille in May of 2001. We are going back to Disney May of 2003, with a very skeptical Disney MIL. I have raved about this being the best meal we had on Disney property.

Has anyone been there since they went to buffet?

I think there is some confusion here. There are 3 types of all you can eat meals at WDW, buffet, preplated & family style. Garden Grill is served family style. The server will bring large quantities of food to the table and everyone serves themselves. You may ask for more food at any time. It has been family style since before '97.

It's a little off the subject but how do you feel about the land food court. Personally it's my favorite counter service at WDW.

:( Sorry to cause the confusion. When I say buffet, I'm refering to any type of all you can eat restaurant.Buffet, family style, etc. When I initially spoke of the Garden grill restaurant, I was refering to the time {pre-1997} when it was a reguler menu eatery where you chose your respective appetizers, main course , and dessert. There was more to choose from then.:(

When Kraft was the sponsor the restaurant was called "The Good Turn". We used to love the cheese spread they served with the bread they brought to the table. We also loved the Listen to the Land song. Why on earth they dropped the song is beyond me.

Hey Mitros, yes we have the FLorida resident seasonal pass. Its the best deal in Disney IMHO. We do it every other year for years now. Just love the place for some reason and even when I and my wife get tired of it my kids never do. Have fun.

:D Micca: Wow, I did not realize that the restaurant had a different name back then. Neither my wife nor myself recalled that name. Thanks for the info!:D
