Kathy, by that time you check out and get to breakfast it will be time for a cocktail.. like Lauren, I think a Mimosa sounds good!

Lauren- I am envious of you. Have a wonderful time at the shore.

Hersey-We had dinner at the Coral Reef and it was very good. We really enjoyed the sharks swimming so close to us! I had read that having seafood while watching fish swim around was skeeving people out, but not me.....I had my Mahi-mahi without even a blink :rotfl2:

Funny story about the Mimosa- years ago when the kids were little my sis IL and I took them to Hampton Beach for a few days. Now I love my kids, but they could sometimes be a trial and this trip was no exception. Between the youngest stretching his arms across the others and not having any deodorant on, Marisa whining about everything and Donny just annoying his sister on the ride there, it was not looking too good. Then they really got going because they relaxed. Now SisIL had not had a drink in six years, never wanted one. By the next morning she was downing mimosas with breakfast and not looking back :lmao::lmao:. All it took was one day with my darlings and she was off the wagon :rotfl2:. I think that she still drinks when they are all together :rotfl:. ( She is not an alcoholic, but boy I think we would have had a problem if she was)

Well, ya'll I think the diet is getting better.... I forgot to eat today.

But on the downside I am headed to Louisville tomorrow afternoon. My "you'd better get up here it's looking grim" call came in today and before I could call back with flight info I got the call. My Grams passed this afternoon.:sad1:

But at least she isn't miserable anymore. And selfish ole me- my thought was "couldn't she time this better?!? I'm going into my busiest time!" Well, it sounds bad I know, but it kept me from crying for about 10 seconds. She would have appreciated that.:cutie:

So after working all night last night (fell into bed at 6:30am for a cat nap) I am working all night again tonight to try to get ahead on work so I can fly home tomorrow.

Now that I remembered I haven't eaten, I am hungry.popcorn::

Kathy I'm having the same dilema. Our return flight leaves at 4:00 so that means we have to be back at SSR to leave at 2:00ish. Oh the decisions to make where to eat a late breakfast/lunch.:woohoo:

I made ressies at Coral reef today that is such a beautiful place.

Our flight leaves at 4:30, OH what decisions we must make!:goodvibes We're also trying Coral Reef for the first time.:cool1:

That is too funny!!:rotfl2:

Like Nancy said, Bell Service will hold everything for you...how about a Mimosa or Bloody Mary!!!!:thumbsup2

OK, y'all twisted my arm....:lmao:

Nancy I take it your SIL doesn't have any children? I have only 1 (Alex) and he manages to argue with the dogs and the cats.:confused3

Speaking of Mimosa's I haven't had one in years. I want one now please. Good thing I'm feeling lazy or I'd go out for OJ;)

lori  I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. She is in a better place no more pain.

Kathy, since you are staying at BWI, what about Spoodles for breakfast? We've done that twice, and liked it both times. I remember DH had some kind of a skillet with sausage crumbled in a spicy tomato sauce with eggs on top. It's right there in your hotel.

My dinner is still in the process of being made. I am relaxing with a glass of wine after today's Red Sox loss and the heat. Don't tell the Perfect Parent Police that I know exist in other areas of the board, but I thought you guys would like to know what Liam ate at the game.

1. hot dog
2. frozen lemonade
3. chocolate ice cream
4. half of a huge bag of peanuts (Caili ate the other half)
5. entire huge pretzel
6. three bottles of water

Plus, when we got back to my house, he was STAAARVING, so he had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Laura will have to weigh in on whether he ate even more food at her place for "dinner." The kid is as skinny as a reed, but he eats like a machine! I am expecting him to be a foot taller when I see him on Sunday. Hopefully, he gets salads for the rest of the week after today's junk food debacle.

Caili was more restrained. She only had a cheeseburger, half a huge bag of peanuts, two bottles of water, and a vanilla ice cream. Oh, and a cheese sandwich at my house after the game.

Don't worry Laim and Caili hit most if not all the major food groups.

Have you ever heard Bill Cosby's skit about feeding his kids chocolate cake for breakfast?

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: Too funny!
The perfect parents are lying:thumbsup2

Have you ever heard Bill Cosby's skit about feeding his kids chocolate cake for breakfast?

OMG Buddy and I loved that one! We used to watch it and wonder how he got into our house. Buddy did not have kids of his own so I swear that he got all of his child rearing info from The Cos, and quotes hiom still. I can hear him saying "Brain dead" whenever he hears some of my oldest DS snafus :rotfl2::rotfl2:

No kids:rotfl2:

But on the downside I am headed to Louisville tomorrow afternoon. My "you'd better get up here it's looking grim" call came in today and before I could call back with flight info I got the call. My Grams passed this afternoon.:sad1:

Lori, my friend, my prayers and thoughts are with you. I've been there and believe me she is so much happier now sweetie. She is back to her old self and loving every minute of it. Being trapped in that disease was no fun, celebrate her life.

We went to Spoodles for breakfast last year without an ADR and LOVED it. We had the fritatas(sp) which were so good. I have a feeling that may happen early on during our trip if my guys remember! That's why I'm thinking of maybe another place in case we do end up there early on.;)

I love this story. I tell myself that glass of wine at night is good for my heart, but it's good for my nerves too. ;)

Lori, my sympathy on the loss of your grandmother.

I don't know about the PPP, but I think this makes you at pretty wonderful aunt. I'm sure the kids had a great time.

Exactly.

Have you ever heard Bill Cosby's skit about feeding his kids chocolate cake for breakfast?

Dad is great! He feeds us chocolate cake!

Of course, the best part is when his wife comes downstairs...

Just to clarify, all food purchases were summarily approved by their mother. She was there, she is to blame!! Here is a photo of a much sugared up nephew, the sis, and my niece. Notice my niece's props. Apparently, she wanted to come to the game in her ballet outfit (???) and this was the compromise:

Despite appearances to the otherwise, they really did enjoy the game.

Here is part of tonight's dinner: crab cakes!

We also had some salad with tomatoes.

We've only flown once before so I'm not sure about bell services, but it sounds reasonable! Thanks Nancy, we've done 'Ohana for dinner but never breakfast.

I knew my WFD buddies would be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dining!:goodvibes

The only problem with going to the Poly for breakfast I'm gonna want a cocktail!

And what's wrong with that? ;) Kona does have a drink that is very good in the morning & not alcoholic. It used to be called the Lei Lani but I read they changed the name recently. We haven't tried Cape May for breakfast yet, but it does smell very good when passing. We might see if we can get it for October either that or Yacht club Galley.

Lori, I was just scanning back before posting, girlfriend I am so very sorry & sad to hear about your Grams! If there is anything I can do to help you please pm me! :hug Seriously, anything you need, just let me know!

Tonight it's leftover Glynis roast, carrots, and mashed potatoes.

WFD at your house?

 Oh Lori, I am so sorry. I know that even though your head tells you that your Grams is free from pain your heart just is not going to agree. There is no such thing as preparing for this either. I'm glad that you can "hear" her appreciating her timing issue, she sounds like a grande ol Dame and I know that she smiled at you while the thought ran through your mind. Take care of your farewell, the rest will work itself out.

Oh what a great picture! His Mom is going to have her hands full when the girls decide that boys are not so yucky after all ;)

As to the little Cutie, don't you just love a girl?????? When my nieces were young they would never have even put on a ballet outfit, it would have been knee pads and baseball caps. Enjoy her becasue the girlie girls are few and far between.

We are going to have Mexican lasagna tonight, I found ground chicken on sale and it goes well in this dish. DH is going to whine but he will eat it anyway. He wont touch my baked enchiladas, he says they don't look like food to him :confused3
Mexican Lasagna Recipe courtesy Rachael Ray

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 pounds ground chicken breast, available in the packaged meats case
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 red onion, chopped
1 (14-oz) can stewed tomatoes or fire-roasted chopped tomatoes
1 cup medium heat taco sauce
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained
1 cup frozen corn kernels
Salt
8 (8 inch) spinach flour tortillas, available on dairy aisle of market
2 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar or shredded pepper jack
2 scallions, finely choppedPreheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Preheat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil – twice around the pan. Add chicken and season with chili powder, cumin, and red onion. Brown the meat, 5 minutes. Add stewed tomatoes or fire-roasted chopped tomatoes and taco sauce. Add black beans and corn. Heat the mixture through, 2 to 3 minutes then season with salt, to your taste.
Coat a shallow baking dish with remaining extra-virgin olive oil, about 1 tablespoon oil. Cut the tortillas in half or quarters to make them easy to layer with. Build lasagna in layers of meat and beans, then tortillas, then cheese. Repeat: meat, tortilla, cheese again. Bake lasagna 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is brown and bubbly.

Good morning everyone!

Becky - Those crabcakes look amazing, and the family pic at the baseball game was too cute- love the compromise!;)

Nancy - That recipe sounds very good!!

Tonight we're having spaghetti & meatballs, broccoli and garlic bread.

Have a great day!

Lori--Hugs and prayers to you and the rest of your family! Have a safe trip and know that your WFD friends are with you in spirit

Kathy--Yum on Spoodles for breakfast! We ate there our last trip and really liked it--Kona is on my list to try soon! We made an ADR at Cape May for our trip in Jan, only b/c it is a character meal and we are staying at BWV. Love that it's w/in walking distance, and with characters there the kiddos will be happy. I figure it's just gonna be basic breakfast foods--can't be any better or worse than Chef Mickeys, right?

Becky--what a cute pic of the kiddos! They are gonna be heartbreakers! Funny about the ballet costume. Emma tries to sweet talk me into letting her wear her tap shoes to church--yeah, that's not gonna happen! Oh, and I think Liam's menu hit about every great ballpark food! But where was the cotton candy or Cracker Jacks?;)

Oh, and the roasted cauliflower was really yummy last night--I think, though, that I would cut the cheese in half, or leave the gruyere out the next time. DH even enjoyed it. I also ended up making Glynis's Lemon Lime Pound cake for dessert (Emma wanted to bake), and it was really yummy too. But unfortunately, unless a dessert is swimming in chocolate DH won't touch it--crazy man!!! So now I get to eat the whole cake!

Oh, so WFD tonight (geez, now I'm getting chatty!) gonna try out Aimeedyan's Buffalo Chicken Lasagna--DH loves wings and got all drooly when I told him about the recipe. Gonna also cook up some broccoli as well, insert evil mom laugh!:maleficen

Alrighty--really need to get going with our day! Looks like one of ya'll must've blown a little cooler air our way--should get here by Sunday; it will only be a high of 91!

Today I am making a "use everything up" dish in anticipation of restocking at the farmers market tomorrow. I am making a hash-like thing of potatoes, leeks, chanterelle mushrooms, scallions, and herbs, maybe some tomatoes, we'll see, with some bacon mixed in and topped with a poached egg and whatever herns I have lying around. I'll serve the rest of the tomatoes as a salad on the side, and also will make some crusty bread.

My guess is that we won't be seeing Laura on here for a few days. Her DH got in last night for his leave. Good--another person to boss around in the kitchen on Sunday!!

Lori, sorry to hear about your Grams. :guilty: :(

WFD tonight, I have a small whole chicken in the crockpot covered in Caribbean Jerk marinade and a few splashes of lime juice. We'll probably have brown rice and green beans to go with it. Maybe some fruited jello.
