I am lucky that it is on my forearms so you can't see it. I have a doctors appointment at 1:30 so hopefully they can give me something so it does not spread. If it spreads, thank God for Photoshop!!!

I just had a bridezilla moment with the hall. I never received my Banquet Event Order that I have been requesting and today I got an estimated bill and things were missing!!!! :scared1: I called my event coordinator, who is leaving and only working part time, left a message then called the banquet mananger, left a message and the general manager...I was very angry. Any way, I got the BEO and hopefully I can get everything correct asap. UGH!!!!

I'll be saying some prayers for you my friend that your day gets better and you have a wonderful week ahead. Let us know how you make out this afternoon.

With all that is happening this week you did not need an issue with the hall. If there was ever a moment for Bridezilla to make an appearance, this was it.

Oh Lauren, I am so sorry! That sucks big time! I hope the doc gives you some good stuff for the poison ivy & you can get things straight with the hall!

I was out of phone, internet & tv until just a little while ago. Some work was being done on our crumbling street curb & the dorks cut the cable! DH went out there this morning & they insisted they hadn't cut it. When the cable guy comes & walked out there & could clearly see a big old cable chopped right off! So now I have a temporary big orange thing all over the yard. And the curb isn't finished so I hope they don't come back tomorrow & cut the temp. cable!

Tonight is going to be yesterday's leftovers. I still have to pull up the brownie recipe for ya'll, they were so good!

We talked with the contractor & think we've found a way to fix the fridge without moving the wall. Do an open case door & make it wider. DH just received the new estimate that includes that, tiling my kitchen floors, repairing the wood floor in dining room, taking out the furdowns & cabinets over the bar, changing the kitchen light, putting pendant lights over the bar, & sheetrocking the kitchen walls & the wall next to the bar. This estimate came to $13,500. I would have thought it would be a lot less, left out the granite counter on the other bar, not moving a wall. :confused3
DH & I will discuss it tonight. (hopefully just discuss!)

Loreli, Good luck with the new job!

I am going a little nuts trying to get everything done but wanted to tell all of you that the doctor gave me a cortisone shot and says it should not spread and be gone in 5 days...with my luck now I'll get a cold sore!!!

Thank you all for listening to me!!! I need to get back and vacuum...don't feel too sorry for me though, I have a Roomba that will do alot of the work! ;) Best thing we ever bought...It was a slick deal!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

That's great news Lauren. Hopefully things will go smoothly for you the rest of the week!:thumbsup2

Ghirardelli Award Winning Brownies

2 eggs
3/4 cup of sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate and cocoa powder
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cups walnuts, chopped (I didn’t use)
1 cup Ghirardelli double chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Using a spoon, stir the eggs with the sugar; Add the vanilla.

Stir in the butter. Sift the chocolate powder with the flour, baking powder and salt and stir flour mixture into the egg mixture. Add the nuts (if using) and chocoalte chips.

Spread in a greased 8 inch square pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until just set. Let cool completely.

I made a batch & half and baked in 9 inch square pan for about 40 minutes. I used Splenda for baking & thought the first batch was a bit sweet. The second batch we didn't add any sugar or splenda & mixed the two together. Came out just right.

Lauren, Glad he gave you the injection! That should take care of it!

Lauren Sorry to hear about the poison ivy,bad timing. Not there's every a good time for poison ivy. Hope things go more smoothly for you this week.

shovan Sorry I can't remember the name of the product. On one of the home remodeling shows I watch they were talking about a composite material that is like granite but cheaper. If I can find some time to surf hgtv or diy network I'll let you know.

I have to go look in the freezer to drag something out I was not planing on rain.

Hi ya'll! Just checking in. Not sure what's for dinner, but I know I'd love something high calorie and high fat! Rick brought home the new FDA approved diet pill thing and I told him I'm guinea pig it for him this week to make sure he can travel ok using it.:cutie: I started yesterday and tracking food and fat...well, let's just say I'd kill more for a brownie now than during PMS!

So if you have any nutrional stuff (serving#, cal, fat) for your recipes please add- so I know if I'll be expecting any unwanted "treatment effects".:lmao:

WEll, tonight is ending up being frozen pizza. I didn't make it to the store until 4:30 so, that left little time to fix dinner. But I did get fixin's for the Spinach Bruschetta. Yum!

Gonna go check on my pizza!

Lauren--great to hear that you got a shot--sending PD that a cold sore doesn't appear! Maybe you should try some prophylactic Abreva just to be safe!

Tonight we had a variation on Glynis' enchilda's casserole, rice and fruit. I used cooked chicken breast's instead.

What a disappointing storm it was all wind, thunder and really vivid lightening very little rain. My lawn is so crunchy.

Can you post the burrito recipe? I'm looking for crock pot recipes.

Well, it really wasn't much of a recipe (I don't like to measure). I threw a 2.5 pound beef roast in the crockpot with about a cup of water, can of diced tomatos, small can of tomato paste, cinnamon, oregano, cumin and garlic powder. Turned on low and mixed it up every once in awhile. I also scooped any fat out as I noticed it because it grosses me out.

Served it with flour tortillas with sour cream and cheese (what I had in the fridge!) with a side of spanish rice and chips/salsa.

It wasn't my favorite meal ever but I think I can play around with it and do it again. It was still pretty greasy but we used tongs so we could let it drip a little before putting it into the burrito =)

just subscribing...I'm hungry!! :goodvibes

:welcome: Lindsay keeps the recipes updated on page one (Thanks once again, Lindsay!!!) so you can check out what we have here. Please join in and share some of your recipes.

Lauren- well there is some good news on the poison ivy glitch! I would love a Roomba but I can just picture my four cats trying to hide from the giant "mouse" that seems to chase them :rotfl2:

Hershey- we also need some rain here. A friend set plants all day yesterday and watched them sizzle :sad2:, he has easy irrigation at this field. WE don't either so I hope we get some tonight.

Lori- :rotfl::rotfl: There is always some high fat high flavor stuff going on here!

Sheryl- Thanks for the brownie recipe. It looks yummy! I hope that the cable doesn't get cut again, I would be lost without the phone, TV and my DIS'ers!

I don't envy you on the renovation thing. I'll never do it again, we are still dealing with mistakes. A friend of DH (no, he never learns) is coming to fix the mistakes on our breakfast bar on Saturday. Maybe. I am so tired of a half done house!

Roomba would not be a good thing in my house. My dog Hershey (spelled correctly) is part Australian shepherd and would try to herd the thing

We did get some more rain over night I have green grass again and my plants are happy :)

I will have to review the first page for inspiration on dinner tonight.

Quickly checking in to say hi. I am going to try my hand at Jenny's Stromboli with ham, salami and cheese. Sauce on the side and a tossed salad.

All is well here...just itchy!!!

Have a great day!

:rotfl2: My DH wants an Australian Shepard whrn my cats are gone. I haven't got the heart to tell him that they are still babies and have years and years left. How do you think one would be with 4 cats who are pretty set in their ways?

:grouphug:

My niece is graduating this evening and the girls are all going. (One is doing a rain dance as we speak, aren't you Risa?) Anyway I think I will just make some egg salad.

Oh I forgot to tell you all that Marisa cooked dinner last night, so now it is official.....she can use the grill :thumbsup2.
