I used to make an ice cream sandwich cake called Frozen Heaven. I haven't made it in years and I was just thinking about it this morning. I'm organizing a Father's Day potluck bbq and I thought I might make it for that. How do you make yours?
This is my recipe:

9 vanilla ice cream sandwiches
1 tub Cool Whip
3 Heath Bars
5 Reese's peanut butter cups
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Chocolate syrup for drizzling

Cover the bottom of a 9x13 glass baking pan with ice cream sandwiches, cutting to make them fit. Chop candy bars into small pieces. Add 2/3 or so of the candy bars to the Cool Whip. Save the rest to sprinkle on top. Spread Cool Whip over sandwiches. Sprinkle remaining candy bars and pecans on top. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Cover and put the dish in the freezer and allow it to freeze. Cut into squares to serve.

Mine are basically the same. I found some banana split flavored sandwiches and peanut butter flavored sandwiches. I'm layering the banana split ones with strawberry sundae sauce and Cool Whip Free. Tomorrow, I'll top it with chopped strawberries. The peanut butter I used chocolate sauce, and I'll top it with chopped peanut butter cups. I'll try to remember to take pictures.

..said snarkily................."Well when she starts calling you Bunny we know she is in the 1970's with her memories!"...... (dh real mother's name, and dfil first wife....and grandma blames her on the marriage breaking up so she is insecure on it) .........................and then I just sort of laughed in an innocent way,and asked her if she wanted a refill on her coffee (it is a self serve drinks deli we were at).....................I am only 5 feet, but I tell ya I felt like 8 feet tall walking off after that comment...............and that my friends was breakfast...........................Thanks once again for the support....I tell ya I could feel you all sitting in the booth with me!!!

WOW you're good! We better stay on your good side;) Here I was worring about you you can take care of yourself pretty good.

Sex in the Holler

.5 oz Wild Turkey Honey Liqeur
.5 oz Peach Schnapps
.5 oz Raspberry liqeur
1 oz pineapple juice
1 oz cranberry juice

Mix. We got this from the caterer at the Turkey party at Bourbon Fest. They made a big batch and had it like a draft. Really good in the heat!

This is my kind of drink! Thanks for sharing...:) :) :)

Ross is looking forward to room service for breakfast before we head to his tournament sat morning.....................this is his first one as a green belt, and since he sprained his foot...........

I hope Ross does well! You are a very strong person, and I hope you and your family have a great weekend.

Wow, was my lambchop really that rare? Photos look great as usual, Sis. You do have a talent there.

I have alot of catching up to do...I am almost down to 1 week!!! :scared1:

Relax, enjoy it. You won't believe how fast the whole event moves. I completely understand why a lot of people videotape because there is so much happening, it is hard to process everything. (We didn't video ours, and we don't regret it.)

No Kyle didn't get his way, actually the coach called him yesterday and told him to rest up because he's pitching tonight.

Good luck to Kyle. I hope he has a great game.

No cooking for me today!! DH and I are going to see "Nunsense" with some friends of ours, and go out to dinner beforehand!!!

I love that show. It is so much fun. I hope you had a good time.

Since most of my family returned from the Caribbean, this seems to be their theme song. Last Sunday, at 12:05, my dad had a mojito in his hand. Gotta love Jimmy Buffett.

We had a Rhode Island specialty which is party pizza. Part pizza has a thick crus, spicy sauce ,no cheese and it's served at room temp or cold

Thanks! And fantasy is always better than the reality! Did I show pics of the moulding? Would you paint the existing moulding or put up stained crowns.

Sheryl, I didn't respond to this before because I couldn't completely envision your pictures, but I looked at them again. I don't think I would put up stained crowns in your kitchen to match the moulding you have, just because it is a little dark. I think if you ringed the kitchen with that, it would feel smaller. (And who wants a smaller kitchen??) I actually like what you have, but if you had to change it, I would go lighter rather than darker. This is, of course, just my opinion. I have the tendency to lighten up my spaces. My next home project is to paint my yellowy-brownish kitchen cabinets white, but I'll paint my drab off-white walls a light pumpkin color. I'll have to do this while DH is away (shouldn't be hard) since he likes the yellowy-brown.

Good luck!

Today we are taking my Dad out for Father's Day. Not sure where yet. So no cooking for me today OR tomorrow (taking FIL out tomorrow).

WFD at your house?

Tom and I are going to dinner at McCormick and Schmidts...We just got a $20coupon...another slickdeal! :thumbsup2

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday Johnny had to leave work early (Kyle's game) and I missed out on my weekly fried green tomatoes. SO he's gonna go get us some tonight!!:cool1:

liamsaunt - Once again your pics were fantastic!!

I don't know WFD. We are having a couple of friends over so I have to think of something everyone will like.

Thanks for the nice comments on my pictures everyone! :)

Kathy, How was the game? We had the Omaha stuffed sole, well, I did. It was great! I will definitely order again...and the au gratin potatoes are good too! :)

My ring is ready :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: ...hopefully its right this time...if not, I have another one, kind of like an everyday to match Tom's. We ordered them on line...they are tungsten...supposed to be the strongest...:)

I am having whatever I can scrap together in the kitchen. DH is taking his dad out and my sister will be here. I don't have $ to dine out but she may take pity on me and buy us both fast food =)

It was great! The coach initially told Kyle he only wanted him to pitch 3 or 4 innings because he has been sick, but he was doing really well and he kept telling coach "just one more inning". He ended up pitching a shut-out thru 6 innings the score was 12-0. We won 12-2. I was very proud of him and of course I had to check on him a few times while he was in the dug-out to make sure he was feeling OK.;)

:yay: :yay: You must be getting so excited, I'm getting excited for you. Can't wait to see the ring!!!!!

The Omaha sole isn't by any stretch the best seafood I've ever eaten, but for the money and not having to cook it, it's a deal that's just too good to pass up!:thumbsup2

Sheryl - It was super sweet because we were playing Holy Cross' Legion team, who were supposedly the best Legion team in the city! Our boys all played terrific baseball last night, it was so much fun to watch!:thumbsup2

Last night's dinner was hamburger's from Whole Food. They were the pre-made burger's I threw on the grill. They had cracked black pepper & pecorino cheese in them. Very yummy. No idea for tonight's supper. Need to start on my DH'S request for Father's Day. White Beans & fried catfish! The man will eat fancy foods with the best of them, but give him a choice & it's down home Nawlin's cookin!

We followed up our burgers with lots of wine after getting the contractor's bid by email last night!!

I should have gotten prices before even asking for advice! :scared1:
TWENTY-FREAKIN THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!! That does not include removing the furdowns or sheetrock in the whole den!!!! This would just include moving the wall, sheetrock in kitchen area. Tile the backsplash, & tile the kitchen floors, fix the light in the kitchen & add some other can lights! And a small granite countertop in our bar area, that I didn't take a pic of. We are definitely rethinking this whole thing. What is sad, is that he broke it all down, it all looks reasonable nothing outrageous. But for that amount we thought we could have redone & I mean REDONE pratically the whole kitchen & den! Oh removing the furdowns would be another $3000-$4000 dollars!

It appears that doing everything we wanted to would come in at almost $30,000!!! We are not going to be able to do that & planning on major cutbacks now. :sad2:

We will discuss it further with the contractor & I'll keep y'all updated.

At least he told you what he wanted, mine never did, so I suggested some of his faves and he finally picked one.

OMG!!! $20-30,000, that is unbelievable! I guess the price of materials is still high almost 2 years after the Big K?:confused3
