A while back some of you were talking about how you organize your recipes. In the newspaper today I read a "computer help" section that listed LivingCookbook.com BigOven.com and ffts.com as good software to use to file recipes. The first 2 offer free trial versions for 30 days. The last one is completely free. I'm going to check that one out right now.

UPDATE: I downloaded "Now You're Cooking" from ffts.com and I like it! I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

Update 2: I love this software! I've been playing around with it and not getting anything else done today. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. So anyway, you can enter every member of your family and how they rated each recipe. You can also download a picture of the food. There's shopping lists and something about coupons, which I haven't even gotten into yet... Did I mention that I love this software?

Sandy, Sandy, Sandy!!! :) Thank you so much for posting this! I have been looking for something to help me organize all the recipes I have from hither and yon. I'm so glad you shared your find! Whoo hoo! I'm going to get organized!

I like the free one! Cool website! :thumbsup2

Kathy, that pork tenderloin sounds yummy, I'll have to try that one soon!

Zandy, thanks for posting those sites! I'm going to take a look at that.

Lauren, so sorry you're having trouble with all the wedding planning. I'm sure you'll find a dress you will look BEAUTIFUL in! I won't offer any advice though. My daughter got married 2 years ago. Believe me, I offered much more advice than she wanted to hear!

Lauren/aka zilla -

You need a :drinking1 and you need it now! Take a deep breath and look at your adorable little boy and your sweet fiance. That's all that matters, sweetie. All the other stuff is just stuff that will all fall into place for you.

I like the cupcake idea, but it's your day and your choice. You will look beautiful in whatever you choose to wear that day and I am sure the pastor will call you back.:goodvibes

This one's for you!:drinking1

You know I need one!!! WIsh you were closer to have it with me! Could that be the reason for my witchiness today? Perhaps I had one too many vodka collins last night??? :) :) :)

For now, with love...:lmao:
Zilla!

Lauren, I mean ZILLA, cupcakes don't sound tacky at all. To me, it sounds like it would make it that much easier to serve! :cool1:

Tonights dinner was a hit. We had leftover grilled salmon, potatoes baked in the oven, and Rachael Ray's recipe for Celery Succotash Salad. My co-worker gave me the recipe today and she was raving about it. It came out very good - the dressing is what makes it. Here is the recipe - it is a keeper!

CELERY SUCCOTASH SALAD
Rachael Ray

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper
1 whole celery heart, thinly sliced
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1 (10-ounce box) frozen corn kernels (I used 1 can of drained corn)
1 (15-ounce) can chick peas, drained & rinsed
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 small to medium red onion, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves (I left this out)

In a medium bowl, combine the mustard, honey, lemon juice, and vinegar then whisk in extra-virgin olive oil and season the dressing with salt and pepper. Add the celery, carrots, corn, chick peas, peppers, onions, and thyme. Toss to combine the salad and adjust salt and pepper, to taste.

Welcome back Jenny!

Just popping in super quick to post dinner and then I have to let DH uss the computer: we are having quesadillas stufed with onions, black beans, corn, spicy jalepeno sausage, and montery jack cheese.

Per my husband's request, we are having meatloaf (a knock-off of a Paula Deen recipe), smashed potatoes, and peas.

WFD at your house?

Good morning!:wave2:

Tonight we're having beef stew, lemon/parm broccoli and bicuits.

Have a great day everyone!

Tonight we are having pizza (frozen Celeste pizza that I jazz up with fresh plum tomatoes, olives and extra cheese) & leftover Celery Succotash Salad. For dessert later while Survivor is on we will have black and white cookies and milk.

tonight will either be leftover Spinach and Chicken bake or some other fast pasta dish

Good Morning All!

Thank you for all of your kind words and support...I think I am calm now. :upsidedow

Tonight is going to be another easy night. Hot Dogs and probably mac and cheese and corn on the cob...I will most likely make the NY Red Onions too...they are very easy and the boys liked them last time.

Have a great day all!

Zilla!

PS: Kathy, my PMs should be cleaned out...I am so bad at that. You would think I had more DIS friends!!! :)

Morning,

Tonight is going to be the leftover white beans, rice & greens we were going to have last night. DH brought home an extra Muffaletta he had ordered for lunch! Mmmmm.

Good morning everyone!

Lauren, glad to know today is a better day. I don’t have any advice on the cupcake issue except do what you want. My only other advice is to hang in there and drink heavily if necessary.

Tonight’s dinner is going to be leftovers from last night’s penne a la vodka casserole. Last night was my first attempt at this dish and it was really good. I’m actually looking forward to the leftovers.
