You all seem to have alot of questions about WJ, and as WestJet's official biggest fan, I would like to offer my help, so if there is anything you want to know just ask.

OK, I'll bite :thumbsup2

How do you get the best deal on a Westjet flight? We are SWA lovers and have driven to BUF the last few trips. We have to fly down in November, right around US Thanksgiving, so I am thinking it might be more convenient to fly out of YYZ and avoid the crowds. However, if I can't justify the cost of flying out of Canada I will drive to Buffalo. So - what can you suggest?

Hmmm...

The best deals always come during WestJet seat sales, November may hold a winter sale.

Try and be flexible, as what happened with my May trip was the day we originally wanted to leave was beyond the window of the seat sale offered, we had to adjust it one day.

Sign up for JetMail at www.westjet.com , it will send you e-mail messages telling you about upcoming deals.

Ok, so what's up with the TV's NOT working from MCO back to YYZ!?!

The TV's may occasionaly be out of order, my Mom's TV broke on her flight, but after a short while turned back on. If seats are avalible ask a flight attendant to move.

Went to WDW via WestJet in December and did not have TV's on the way there or on the way back. The plane on the way back was only 6 months old but still didn't have TV's. The pilot apologized many times.
Went to WDW via WestJet in February and had TV's on the way down but they didn't work. The flight crew knew they weren't working as they didn't even offer headsets. On the way back they were working and headsets were sold shortly after take-off.

I am looking for a direct flight from Calgary to Orlando around January 1/07. This is for my 16 year old nephew,he will be flying alone. Do you know if they fly direct thru the week or only on the weekends? Air Canada has a non stop flight on Saturdays. Any suggestions or help would be great.

I think it is everyday except Saturday. A quick search of your dates on www.westjet.com will tell you. If you need some more info PM me.

EDIT: Oh, January 2007? That's totally up in the air, it depends on when and where WestJet decides to increase route frequency.

BTW, I was going to fly YYC-YEG (Edmonton) by myself, but things happened and I never got to. Oh, well I got a credit and it helped for DL.

We are flying West Jet next week [March Break for 10 days]. Cost us $1388.00 for family of four. That's all taxes and s/c. I thought that was a great price for March Break! Sandra

SandraC...you are lucky to be able to leave and come back on the "non traditional " march break days (ie:middle of the week). If you were to go from Sat to Sat the price would have been doubled at least.

I have flown West Jet twice and only on 1 leg out of 4 have I had a television on the seat back. I don't think I would make that an important criteria when choosing airlines. You can't count on it being there.

As an aside, I flew Air Canada to New York City (a route that West Jet abandoned last year) and the new jet on the return trip had televisions on the seat back. I was able to watch an episode of House while my cousin watched CSI. Could have watched the Wallace and Grommit movie too but the flight wasn't long enough. LOL It wasn't a satellite signal so we didn't lose the signal while changing direction. It was great.

Hopefully they'll put these in their older and larger jets.

Do standard airline headphones work or do I have to buy new ones?

I have never flown westjet before and May 8th will be the first time flying to WDW. Is the live seatback tv only available in certain seats?

You dont want to know what I paid for my airfare from Calgary to Orlando, lol :badpc:

I used the headphones from my ipod - any headphones will work.

If they are on the plane - they are on every seat. We had them on both flights last month and it was great setting up the kids with Treehouse and Disc. kids channels. It helped for a quick and painless flight! :woohoo:

I have WestJet questions:

1. Do we self-check in at a kiosk or is there a person who checks us in?

2. Our flight departs at 7:30pm, if we arrive around 5:30pm, will that be enough time to do customs and security?

3. Is there a drink service onboard ~ pop, juice, coffee, tea?

4. Are flights usually on time?

Thanks! Sandra

When we arrive at MCO, which terminal do we head to for our luggage? Thanks, S

WestJet is on the A side of MCO.

1. There is a person who checks you in.
2. 2 hours should be enough time and that is what was recommended to me by WestJet when I booked my flight. I like to be there 3 hours early but that's just me.
3. After take-off they will come around with a snack of pretzel mix or cookies. There is also free coffee, tea, juice, pop, water. Alcoholic beverages and sandwiches are available for sale.
4. Flights are usually on time. It is one of the things WestJet prides itself in.

I'm sorry, I was away for a bit.

I'll usually be high answering on weekends and low answering on weekdays. I'll wade through the questions later on this AM and give you some answers.
