*The Official VILLAS AT DISNEY'S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Owners & Lovers Group*

It's hardly wise to judge the new tower's appearance yet.

Basing your opinion on the photo above is the equivalent of judging a person's looks from only their skeleton, and part of that.
There are plenty of photos of how the finished product will look, and I would still feel the same. It is a tower, surrounded by smaller buildings next to the poly. I feel it is going to completely ruin the look of that area and all those added guests from that hotel using the monorail of the poly is going to make lines even longer. Just my feeling

...we didn't notice any noise from the construction at all:

....I gotta say though, that that is ONE UGLY BUILDING.
Where was the photo taken from?

...the balcony of our room[#9333]...we were in Big Pine Key - Building #9. In all fairness, if you are standing in front of the lobby doors of the GF[facing in], this building is to the left, so it was pretty far from that location.

I’m guessing - as far as VGF guests go - the only ones who will even see it are on that side of BPK and those on the porte cochere side of the main by VGF building.

...probably... :confused3

And that photo is zoomed in too so it's not like it will dominate the view. I don't have a lot of love for the Bungalows and how that changed the Poly but you adjust and just do a "I remember when".

Thst is the shell and not even all of it..every DVC building looks like that before it’s finished.

What a disappointment.. Completely takes away from the serene and will look completely out of place.

Maybe they’ll paint it go away green 😆.
All joking aside, I have a lot of sympathy for folks paying beaucoup bucks to get married next to that construction site - is it even holding weddings right now, we were there 14 days in Nov/Dec & didn’t see any wedding type activity over there, although, as par usual at the GF, we did see a few brides/wedding parties wandering around/being photographed nearer the lobby.

Is there any update when the construction on the lobby will start? We will be arriving in 24 days!!

I'm a DVC member, but have never had any kind of Disney annual pass. I've read the T's and C's and cannot find anywhere that a resort stay is a requirement of using the Sorcerer Pass, in particular, or if the pass includes the Hopper benefit. I'm sure the seasoned veteran's here know if a resort stay is required to use the pass or not and thank you, in advance, for the help that this site provides.

You do not need to stay on-site in order to use the Sorcerer pass. The Sorcerer pass is also a hopper (same 2pm rule). You just need to be a DVC member eligible for membership benefits to purchase it (or FL resident).

The only way staying onsite will benefit you while using a Sorcerer pass is park reservations and generic Disney resort benefits (early entry, deluxe extended evening hours, $LL at 7am, etc). For park reservations you will pull from separate resort guest AP availability AND be able to book for length of stay rather than just hold five park reservations at one time.

Thank you for the information. A nice list of additional benefits. Heck yes! Again, thank you for the help.

Anytime! Another great AP perk will be accessing the parks after 2pm without a park reservation (excluding MK on weekends).

"...beginning April 18, Annual Passholders can visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park."

I hadn’t checked this thread in awhile. I bring my own Community Coffee because I enjoy the roast. Was disappointed to find a Kurig in the room! We are in the DVC building, not BPK.

I hope BCV hasn’t changed to Kurig, that’s where we head to tomorrow.

We stayed here to enjoy the Easter Eggs. They were lovely. Kevin is huge!

When we stayed at Vero in the beach house, they had a Keurig. We don't like to use it for many reasons (poor coffee, environmental impact, cost). We called the desk and they brought up a regular coffee maker. In the 2-bedroom at the VGF when we stayed in Oct, they had a keurig that allowed you to make a pot or a single cup. The pot option allowed me to use my own coffee like a traditional drip maker. We may start packing an aeropress or a french press.

Thank you… Tomorrow we’re eating breakfast at Kona, and after that we’re at BCV. I will call for sure the next time I stay at VGF for something other than the Kurig.
