*The Official VILLAS AT DISNEY'S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Owners & Lovers Group*

Thanks for posting the Easter decorations and tasty treats pictures. I wonder why there’s no “Grand Egg” this year? My family will be sad as it was a firm family favourite the last few years.

The banner at the top of the DVC booking page has been updated....looks like it's happening for real this time!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be receiving enhancements to select areas in phases, including the lobby and convention center, from April through November 2025. Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours, and portions of the lobby will be closed at times. All pools and most resort dining and other amenities will remain available. Please allow extra time for travel, as path adjustments may be in place.

Hi everyone

So, I closed on my first contract for DVC about a month ago and recently I started getting phone calls to both my home and cell phone from people that want to know if I am going to use my points.

Has anyone else gotten these calls? I am assuming Disney released my information.

Grand Floridian Lobby Renovations Beginning Spring 2025

The long-gestating lobby updates to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are now scheduled to take place throughout most of 2025.

On the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney began a multi year project to update most areas of the Grand Floridian. Work included a soft goods refurbishment of the original Disney Vacation Club villas, conversion of hotel rooms in the Big Pine Key builidng to additonal villas and updates to all remaining hotel rooms. Most of the resort restaurants were refreshed, including 1900 Park Fare which finally reopened in 2024.

However, the one amenity yet to receive significant attention is the main lobby. Portions of the lobby were closed in the summer of 2023 as the upper levels were painted. Other updates were rumored but have yet to occur. Now it appears those renovations are set to begin in just a few weeks.

Disney has released the following operational update for the Grand Floridian:

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be receiving enhancements to select areas in phases, including the lobby and convention center, from April through November 2025. Guests may see and hear construction during daytime hours, and portions of the lobby will be closed at times. All pools and most resort dining and other amenities will remain available. Please allow extra time for travel, as path adjustments may be in place.

The April 2025 starting window suggests that lobby work will begin shortly after Easter, when the popular Easter egg exhibit is removed. Disney will likely aim to wrap-up lobby work by early November, in time for the Christmas gingerbread display.

There is no word on what sort of changes are planned for the lobby. In recent years, many Disney resorts have reduced the large "front desk" to a series of smaller podiums, allowing cast members provide more personal interaction with guests. Guest reaction to some lobby updates have been mixed, including the bold color schemeat Disney's Old Key West Resort. More recent updates, like those at Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas, featured much more subtle changes.

Other areas of the resort, such as the campus-style buildings and rooms have already been refurbished. Other refurbishments include the Citricos restaurant, and the introduction of a Beauty and the Beast-themed bar on the second floor of the lobby area.

More recently, the lobby gift shop also received a visual refresh. There is no word on what work will take place in the lobby yet, or what it’ll look like when the work has been completed.

Thanks, I was wondering if this was normal
It happens to all timeshare owners, not just D.V.C. Don’t believe a thing they say, especially if they tell you they’ll rent your “unused Interval International Getaways” for big bucks, after you pay them a “small” fee of several hundred dollars. It’s a scam.

their always so weird on the phone and then hang up, so I assumed it was fishy

Hi All. Looking for some help. I’m thinking of doing a Target order (non-perishable) to VGF. Am I recalling correctly that VGF has its own bell services desk so I can send directly to the VGF address?

Lastly, for how many days will bell services hold a package? I’d like to send it for arrival the day before my arrival so I know I don’t have to pick up any of the items on my way from the airport. Thanks!

Yes, VGF has its own bell services. I am not sure how long they will hold stuff. I did have them hold my owner's locker and suitcase for 4 days while we were on a cruise.

Some feedback on the VGF villas:

1) The primary shower and closet are a good size. The shower heads badly need to be replaced though.

2) I can’t stand the sliding doors into the bathroom.

3) I really don’t like the primary toilet not having its own room with a door.

4) I’m happy we spent the extra points for the lake view.

5) The resort itself is beautiful. However it is very spread out. Nothing is too far, but nothing is too close from the villas…. I feel like the walk to the monorail or boat is the same distance as our BW room to World Showcase….

6) Citricos was amazing. Food, service, ambiance, wine list, Old Fashioned… wouldn’t change a thing.

7) Narccoosse’s was not worth the expense. I guess if you aren’t staying at the Grand and want the views for fireworks it’s a good way to get them, but it was loud, the service staff was the least attentive of all the signature dining we had, and the food was good…. but not amazing…. and it’s priced for the latter.

8) The drinks at the pool bar were expensive but well made and tasty.

9) Sharing transportation with Poly is annoying.

10) Water would not go into the washing machine upon arrival, but maintenance fixed it while we were out of the room.

11) We much prefer the VGC/BLT/AUL 2 bedroom 3-bathroom layout.

12) Seeing all of these WDW resorts makes me annoyed at how much they cheaped out at VDH.

13) The Murphy bed couches really aren’t deep enough to be comfortable… annoying if you aren’t using it as a Murphy.

14) Kid’s thought Gasparilla Grill food was fine. Having mobile order was very nice. BW really could use a QS….
