The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Thanks for sharing. I need to get back into that when I have some free time and add to it.

Even though those of us who own at both of the DLR DVC resorts are usually in love with the "in the bubble" feel of VGC, if VDH were to be placed just about anywhere at WDW it would have so much praise for how close it was to the parks (and it's two parks!).

I think those times are going to be the hardest to book villas…

Has anyone mapped out when the deltas are the greatest? That would be an interesting data set to look at. Our love for the garden studio has kind of got me off the 1/2BR game at VDH but for the long run I likely need to look at that to see how we'll plot our points into our UYs as we either get a few more direct points or buy for value on the resale market....

Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread but wanted to ask how we feel now that some concrete news for Disneyland forward has gotten out there? I know it's going to be 3 to 4+ years before we have any potential for real movement that will put VDH more into the middle of the parks but it's still nice to see some positive movement that will lead us there.....

Samesies. Love 1-2 bedrooms and wish they had made more. In theory they know what they are doing (though will the demand for larger units change as they grow the resort and people stay longer? But whatever - we own at grand cal too which we’ve never had an issue getting a 1 bedroom at 11 month.
How many 1 bedrooms does VGC have?

Not sure if it has really been mentioned here yet! But its exciting to see some of the plans for Disneyland forward start to take shape!

But VDH has a better point chart for 1BDs compared to VGC at many points during the year.

For an upcoming August stay.

VGC: 284 points, VDH 222 points.

Our favorite time is mid/late June. I wonder how hard getting a 1-bedroom is at that time. Unfortunately, I won't be able to walk much since our UY is June. so that makes me nervous (about both DLR resorts.)

I'm going to (hopefully) be booking a 1 bedroom at VGC for June 2026 soon. I'll start looking at availability on July 1st but hopefully it won't be hard to get the dates we want.

I'm excited! Especially about the Coco ride. I'm not really into Avatar but I'm still excited for that area to transform into something else. We were only "meh" about the Avatar stuff at WDW but maybe this will be better. I have no attachment to the Monsters Inc. ride so not bothered by that leaving. I'm just thankful the Avatar stuff isn't taking over any of the Grizzly Peak area, which was my fear. I'm also glad it isn't going to be apart of the other expansion area because I'm holding out hope for a Frozen land.

We always really like the Monster’s ride and fondly remember the movies. It’s an easy LL to pull, inside with AC, and little kids can go on it too.

I am not a fan of 3d based screen rides…. so Flight of Passage, Remy’s, Harry Potter at Universal…. No thank you. (A special exception is made for Star Tours).

We were meh about the River Journey ride at AK.

I’m glad to see them doing something with the space…. I just wish it was a different IP…. why not just go with Asgard and make it a bunch of cool Loki and Thor themed stuff….

I hope there will be a family ride in the Avatar area. The last couple times we did Monsters Inc, even with our DAS pass, we had to wait forever in the heat and it just isn't worth it for what it was. Honestly, I'd rather go on cheesy Superstar Limo. 🤣

Admittedly, I've never seen the Monsters Inc movies.
Nor have I seen Avatar.

Have they reported on what the ride(s) in the new Avatar land will be?

I'm pretty "meh" about the new stuff coming to Avengers campus. Mainly because I know my son won't ride the Tony Stark one. Hopefully he will go on the other one.

What is the reason for more studios than 1 bedrooms?

I do not think they are putting in a ride though…. From what I gather it’s just a land? Or maybe I missed something lol

I haven't heard of them doing anything yet but lots of rumors since I think they're making Universal get rid of their Simpsons stuff

This is what was posted about it last year. Shows some kind of boat ride. But I think it's all still in the development stage and could easily change.

It would be interesting if they ended up building TWO new boat rides in the same park around the same time. But who knows.

Oh sorry you were talking about Avatar, at D23 last year they showed us concept art of a boat looking ride

You’ve never seen the Monsters Inc movies?!?

And with the current ride, you just need to have LL.

Is there any other plans announced from Disneyforward aside from parking lot, Avatar and Coco? This is all exciting, Just want to make sure im not missing anything! I tried to go to the initial meetings, but they said you had to be a resident of Anaheim!

Nope. I think I've seen bits and pieces of them but never actually sat down to watch.

We used a DAS return the last couple times, which puts us in the LL queue. But it took forever still. If it's still open in December, we'll try to hit it up one last time.

Nothing concrete. Just map showing where they eventually want to add theme park around the hotels.

Dude…. you have to watch the Monster’s movies…. both of them… they are going to make a whole land for it at Hollywood Studios….

Yeah, I'm excited about that. Though I'm a bit more excited about the Encanto ride at AK. I adore that movie!

All of the new stuff coming to all the parks really makes me even happier that we decided to purchase DVC.
