The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

I thought I may not get it since we didnt go hard at the parks this trip, it was more resort hopping. And only 2 nights 3 days. I am also very fair skinned. I have also done outdoor outings other places where sun hits me like Legoland, hiking etc. No rash then only at Disney, although it stopped in CA.
So you will get it within a couple of days? What kind of sunscreen are you using? I try to buy more "natural" type sunscreens that don't have a bunch of chemicals.

Yep starts next day. I have gotten it using Thinkbaby and Badger both white natural creamy so I tried spray Coola and Sun Bum.

No since where mine occurs Id have to wear a turtleneck 🤣 Upper chest, sides and back of my neck

Also thank you fellow owners for enduring my rash chat. I really am just puzzled why it stopped happening at DL

Oh, yeah, lol. I got nothing for ya on that! And now that I really think about it, I don't know if I've ever really had it happen at DL. But it is always terrible in Florida. For me, I think it must require the sun AND heat. Since I'm usually pretty comfortable in DLR, I don't think I've had it happen there. I wish I could remember better. I haven't been to California in over a year...but I just got back from WDW on 5/21 and was still itchy for days after getting home.

To get this back on topic, we were able to score a 1-BR for a weekend trip December 2023, but couldn't get anything at 7-months for our 6/2024 trip last summer. We ended up ten days at VGC instead since we own there. I much prefer VDH over VGC since I like mid-century modern and Disneyland nostalgia.

I am hoping to stay at the Villas next Spring with my grandson. Looking at a map of the resort the DVC tower is a bit of a walk to get to the parks. I've only stayed at the Disneyland Hotel once before and I was in the main tower so I am not really familiar with the layout. How far of a walk is it to the parks?

If the monorail is open, it is near the hotel and will take you straight into tomorrowland

VGC has 3 bathrooms and a closet in a 2BD . So does Aulani.
Aulani doesn’t have the extra bathroom in the main area like VGC and VDH; the people staying in the living room have to share the primary bedroom bath, which has access off the living room (at least in a lock off - we’ve stayed multiple times in a 1BR) - it’s one of my only “complaints” about Aulani as a “spoiled” owner at VGC (and now VDH) lol. We recently stayed in a 3BR villa at Aulani and there were still “only” 3 baths for a capacity of 12 people - 2 bedrooms had en suites and the third bedroom shared a hall bath with the living room. Luckily, there were only usually 8 (9 for a couple nights) of us staying in the room, but still…

Um…. it does in 2 bedroom dedicated…..

The 1 bedrooms are the issue and therefore the lockoffs….
