The Official "Thanksgiving at Fort Wilderness 2009" Thread

Hi all! We too are lurkers. Actually DH is the lurker and he makes me sign up to post. lol. We are very excited to be coming to the Fort for Thanksgiving but also even more excited to be celebrating our DS's 1st birthday on the 25th! We will be arriving the 25th and departing the 29th.

We have a ressie for dinner at the only place I could find but have no clue if they will be serving Thanksgiving meals. The Diamond Horsheshoe in MK. We are thinking of bringing dinner with us, just haven't fully decided. I haven't cooked a turkey in an oven in years. DH usually smokes it. I'd like to hear what others do if you don't go somewhere to eat.

Thanks,
Sef

Wow!

I used to live in Jupiter, FL right off the Indiantown Road exit off the Turnpike by the original RJ Gators restaurant location. That was a LONG time ago.

I will post more in a Trip Report thread but we pulled off roasting a turkey on Friday (not Thursday/Thanksgiving Day) then watchted Alabama pull it together to beat Auburn on the tele (it felt good). We fed 17 people and the only crisis was not being able to find turkey gravy mix or jars.

But enough Chardonnay covers up those rough spots!
