Hi there. I'll jump on this thread. My husband and I are staying here the same dates you are. Aug 31- Spet 9th. This will be our first trip to Disney and I can't wait.

I will tell you how nervous I am about this place after reading all the reviews on here. We orginally had the CSR booked but it was almost 1000 difference and all we could think about was that would cover our bar bills and spending money...so we reluctantly decided to stay here. We do like high quality hotels but we have also had some good times in some dive places. I just am not sure about 9 nights of it...Im just bummed about the pool being closed.

Oh well. I guess we won't be in the room too much.

don't count on the pool being closed - looked at 2 other sites that kept up with this stuff and it was NOT listed.

so just not sure.

staying there still Sept 16 - 19 - 4 of us listed - but my brother and his wife will be staying offsite. they have a dog and she won't put the dog in the kennel.

I don't know - I love baseball section last time. but it seems to get the most complaints????

maybe we can ask for a rehab room by then.

We're there 9/7 through 9/15 and looking forward to it. We've stayed here before, about 5 years ago. Was all that was available by the time we booked for free dining! On hold right now regarding pool closure. When I booked, they said we could swim at ASMu. Honestly haven't used a resort pool since '04 when we did a grand gathering and in-laws had DKs overnight with them. DKs swam with them.

Okay, Surfboard Bay and the kiddie pool will be closed from 8/27 through 9/13, reopening on 9/14. The baseball pool WILL be open during that time, as well as the pools at ASMu.

I am just wondering if the baseball pool will be overly crowded due to the Surfboard pool closure during the last week of Aug.

Still undecided about which week I am going, but if it is the last week of Aug, then we are staying at Sports. If I choose the first week of Aug, it will be some place else.

I'm glad for this thread though, estherhead, ASSports was feeling "so on the bench" without one.

I'm a huge Fantasy Football player & dh is very into the NY Yankees & plays tennis weekly so tho I'm scared by all the negative comments, we're excited about the sports theme.

We're not losers, we're winners & our Disney trips are gonna be homeruns!

So we will be at Sports 12/12-12/18. Where do I find what is closed and more info? This is my first real vacation and we are bringing our nearly 5 DD with us. I think mommy and Katrina are more excited than daddy. What tips are there, where can I find them? I still have to pack, wash, tidy, too much to list. How do I make sure I don't forget something?
