Tentatively joining along! Planning a short MNSSHP trip for September / October of next year! Me and the hubby and our 4 kids. 2 of them are in college so I have to wait until their Fall class schedules come out before I can pick any firm dates! Determined to do this before our 3rd heads off to college in 2017! Oh...and will be staying in one of the AOA family suites.

We always go in September, but it had been about 5 years since we stayed on property, so there were a lot of changes!! But the crowds were a a bit higher in MK, but MGM, Epcot and AK were fine. I think the longest wait we had the whole trip was 30 minutes and that was surprisingly the safari. There were some waits that were longer, but with the FP's we avoided them.

This will be our first big family vaca, and the costs are a bit scary. So trying to save where I can! I haven't booked anything yet, but started a DVA. Do you all use TA's or book it all yourself?

I booked myself. However, I took upwards of 3 months before booking because I was on the fence about going the DVC route (which I ended up doing after my initial booking). Thankfully I have an aunt who owns DVC, so, I was able to use her points for our trip.

I know enough about the process to book myself, but a good friend of mine is a TA so I use her so that she can get commission on the sale. Plus she keeps up with the free dining and room only booking info so I don't have to.

I have met up with other DIS people in the past. It's fun to hang out for a bit and talk turkey.

Our kids will be 14, 12 & 9, so we are nervous to take my daughter out for a week for her Freshman year of HS, but she thinks it will be fine! I just hate to go during the really crowded times. We haven't been since Sept 2012, so a lot has changed for us too! We are either staying at CR or AofA. Depends on what kind of discounts might come out. Does anyone know when F&W is....we will try to avoid those dates, because I hear it makes it more crowded. Sooo excited to be planning a Disney trip again...it's crazy how happy it makes me!!

I must regretfully report that it appears due to my nieces school schedule we will need to pospone our tip untill December 2016. I have enjoyed my brief stay with this thread and know that it will be an active and interesting thread. Happy planning to each of you. Maybe our paths will cross in the future. Lois

F&W is going on right now.

I believe that it will be around the same time next year as it is this year, so, estimating September 22 to November 21, you could avoid it around those times.

slbgnb !!!! Glad you are in the group. A lot has changed since 2012 - the last time I went as well. You aren't alone in your joy... I'm sure all of us are just as excited !!!

So what's one thing you really want to do this trip?

For me it's MNSSHP. I've never been to any of the parties and I love the idea of dressing up and meeting some rare characters. I'm thinking we'll go two nights!

Wishes Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom

I think I'm looking forward to the MNSSHP. I've never been! My sister also volunteered to take the kids one night so my DW and I can enjoy some along time at Disney! Best sister/auntie ever!

I'm also looking at the Dessert Party. Is it worth the price? Thought about doing the one at Epcot since it looked a little bit cheaper. Any thoughts?

We fid the dessert party at magic kingdom in 2014 and it was amazing! Desserts were fantastic and view was incredible! I know the price has gone up since then but I'm not sure how much. When we were there the epcot dessert party was cocktail tables and standing only. No chairs. After a long day in the park that didn't sound too appealing to me. if you have enough people in your group I think the private fireworks cruise would be amazing and pretty affordable comparing it to one of the dessert parties

To piggyback off this, I just did a search for you both, because why not, I love to help, and I saw that Wishes Dessert Party at MK is $46.01 PER PERSON on April 5, 2016 for 9:10PM as that's the last available date that it's showing. I can imagine it being a lot more expensive during Peak Season, though.
