Sounds like a great idea. How about a drink at Tambu's one night after the parks? Again, we're there Dec 6-12

With all the people that will be there for Mousefest I bet we coudl take up the whole Tambu Lounge one night!!!

So, what do you do for dinner? I think a true TS meal would be too much. Should we just go without dinner reservations and pick up a snack (crepe, skoolbread, CS meal) at the parks later for dinner/dessert? Does this make sense or will we regret not having ADRs?
We found the appetizers rather filling and only had something light later in the evening. The little desserts and cordials were nice as well. Chef Dick was really nice and would carefully run through the menu with us on things to avoid for our peanut-allergic DD.

Our typical day started with breakfast in the lounge, a TS lunch (or last breakfast sitting), appetizers at the lounge and something light later. Also, should mentioned it's pretty neat seeing the MK fireworks from the lounge; they pipe in the music.

The first non-site sponsored Mousefest gathering. Sounds good. Bring on the Zombies.

A question for you Poly vets....

I am staying at the WL, but have booked a couple of meals at the Poly (can't wait to see it! It sooooooo reminds me of going to Disney as a child). Question regarding Poly transportation....can you take the monorail from the TTC to the Poly? Or would I need to catch the monorail from the MK to the Poly?

Thanks in advance for your help! :sunny:

You could catch the MK monorail. From the TTC, you are almost better off walking. There's a path from the TTC right to the Poly. It's about a 10 minute walk. If you have strollers, you should have no problem with little feet. We had no problems all of us walking when our DDs were 2 and 4.

It is very easy to catch the resort monorail from the TTC to the Polynesian.

However, there is no longer any direct way to get to the TTC from the WL.

So you can take the boat or bus to the MK and then transfer to the resort monorail, launch or even ferry to get to the Polynesian.

Or take the boat to the Contemporary and then hop the resort monorail to the Polynesian.

Oh now I'm confused....I thought that the bus now runs from the WL to the TTC (before it ran directly to the MK, bypassing the TTC)??? I was thinking we could take the bus to the TTC, then monorail to poly???

Maybe the boat to the Contemporary then monorail is the way to go. Multiple options....that's good.

Thanks all for your help!

That's exactly what we are planning -- a good sit down lunch and a "something light" between the appetizers and going to bed. I cant imagine having a sit down dinner after that (we dont normally order appetizers at dinner though). Thanks for your help!!

For many years there was a bus that ran from FW (and then WL once it was built) to the TTC. That bus was discontinued perhaps a year or year and a half ago when the direct WL>MK bus was added.

If the situation has reversed again, I had not read about it. We loved the FW>TTC bus for transportation to the Hoop Dee Do so that would be great news for me. Have you read this recently? If it has changed again, sorry for the misinformation!

OK, I did a search on the transportation board and you're right according to a thread I found there. From 8/20 to 12/20 the WL bus will go to the TTC instead of directly to the MK. So that is during your trip.

I would take that bus and then hop the resort monorail. You will get off right by the restaurants.

The walk is nice but can be confusing especially in the dark if that applies to your meals. I can't tell you how many times we've been asked directions to the GCH by people trying to make that walk. ;)

Yes, I have gone to Tikiman's site. Yes, I have tried to figure this out myself...but let's just say I am challenged. :rotfl: I cannot make heads or tails of the answer to this (and not because Tikiman doesn't explain it correctly, it's a deficency of mental capacity on my part;)). Anyway, here is the question:

We would like to be near a parking lot (as close as possible, we plan on driving most places and would like it to be an easy walk back to the room at night, I hear the plant life will most likely cover the cars from view) and my boys would LOVE to have a monorail view. Last consideration (and the one I am the most trouble figuring out) is that we would also like to be in one of the longhouses closest to the TTC. The reason I may not be able to figure out a request for this, may be that these requests would be impossible together...but if they are not... What do I request at check in to hopefully get this if my request can be filled?

THANKS!! :teeth:

Raratonga on the monorail side fits your requests. It is steps from the GCH and one side faces the monorail. The parking lot is right there as well.

We have an ADR for Ohana's in early Dec for 5:15. Wishes is scheduled for 6:00 that night. I had heard that there is some seating in the Rest. that will let you see the fireworks.

Is that true and is it like the Rose and Crown in Epcot where you can request a certain couple of tables? And if so, which tables?

Thanks,

Maz

I just ate at Ohana this August. It was my DH and I. We were seated at a window seat right straight in front of the castle. What a great view!!!

A search on the transportation board....too smart! ;)

Thanks so much for your help. I think I have it down now - we can either:
1. Boat to CR, monorail to Poly
2. Bus to TTC, resort monorail to Poly
3. Boat to MK, resort monorail to Poly

All set. Thanks so much for your help!!

Sorry to add to the confusion but I would boat to the MK and boat to the Polynesian instead of getting on the monorail (avoid the big line and the two stops on the way over).

That is certainly a fun way to do it but since the WL>TTC bus is running right now, the bus to the TTC and resort monorail would be faster by quite a bit IMO. The bus ride to the TTC isn't more than a couple of minutes and the resort monorail doesn't have long lines at the TTC. And of course the Polynesian is the very first stop. Once the bus arrives at the WL, the whole trip should be 15 minutes max I think.

Boat to boat involves more waiting in my experience and longer trips.....but the boats are sure fun especially the little launches to the GF/Polynesian. :boat:
