I'm sorry I read this post because I don't want to get my hopes up after reading that it wouldn't be complete until November or December.

I have emailed with them and understand how it will work to get the beer from them, but was interested to hear from someone who had actually done that.

suffolkprincess said:Did you have to meet them at the front desk when they delivered to show id?
How did that work? Their email to me was pretty vague on this point.
suffolkprincess said:Oh... and, OT-- thought I'd mention that this fall my DH and I are going to our first VaTech game to tailgate etc. I went to JMU and, as I am sure you know, they really only have touch football as played by teenaged girls(and no tailgating-- sigh), so I went to UVA games in college and found their tailgating and the whole experience to sadly lack behind Alabama & Auburn's. DH has only ever been to see Michigan-OhioState (his college didn't even have JMU-style football.) We have been assured that the Tech experience will make us Hokie fans for life. We shall see...
How did you get a discount on Concierge or any discount? Is it a special code. I would love to have and MK view. Thanksdwazdip said:Hi LovePooh!
We will be there (our first ever resort stay) from September 9-16. Oh, I am just so HAPPY! Good luck finding your GVC room. It pays to keep trying!

suffolkprincess said:I read somewhere that this was the case (maybe on Intercot) but I can't find it now to link it back.
Anyone know if the reopening date has been moved up?
I already have free dining, so they probably won't let me do a discount room code too? I really wanted MK view. We are booked GV now. I want to call and find out how much more for concierge but I'm too afraid to mess with the deal I ahve alreadydwazdip said:I was looking for ANY discount since we are not AP holders, and found one at the Mousesavers website. (Code YYD if you booked the dining plan, YYC if not, I believe. Best to check it out yourself.) When I called, I gave her the code. The discount is not available for MK rooms, so she checked on the GVC rooms for me and found one! I immediately switched, paid the $50 change fee and am getting the refund in the mail. Good luck!
I have not stayed at Poly yet but I know most(or all) of the rooms have the sink area in the bathroom. I know this because I'm not too happy about that either. It will make getting ready more challeging. Some rooms only have 1 sink too. You might want to check Tikimans website to see what rooms have more than 1 sink. I know you were thinking of Tahiti and that's one of the newer buildings and probably has 2 sinks at least. Hope this helps a bit. I'm sure another Poly fan knows much more than me.Am_I_There_Yet said:I've stayed bunches of times at the WL and this past March it was me, my 16DD, my 7DD and my DH. On our next stay in June, 20DD will be with us. That makes four females trying to get it together at the same time, every morning.![]()
What helped us at the WL, was that while someone was in the shower, someone else could be in the outer area using the sink and someone else could be using the floor-length mirror outside of the water closet-area door. After a few days we got down a routine.
We were originally going to stay at the AKL (and my heart is still there), but with the rumor of rehab (which we just dealt with at WL), we're broadening our choices. The Polynesian is our other choice.
My questions (it's not so quick anymore, huh?) are: Is there some sort of area like the setup at the WL, where other people can be getting ready for the day, like at the WL and the ALK? I guess a floor-length mirror with good lighting would suffice.
The other is: Tahiti seems to be the building that suits us best. I know it's going to be rehabed next (figures). How long do the building rehabs normally take?

I just want to add that this is exactly how we started our vacation at the Poly in 2001. We ordered room-service, which we took to the beach, where we watched the fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant before turning in for the night. It was a wonderful, wonderful way to start our vacation, and I highly recommend it (in fact, DH has been asking why we haven't done it againfirkat said:Hello. The Poly does offer in-room dining and you can take a look at the menu.

I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy it yet . . . but reviews on the boards are very positive.
In addition, non-club concierge-level Guests can also request free robes (for use while there) for each family member -- just call Mousekeeping once you get inside your Polynesian Resort room to request the nightly turndown service as well as the robes, and let them know what sizes of robes to bring.Tikiman said:Concierge guests get turndown automatically. That has not changed. Non-concierge guests can request turndown service at no charge.PRaffen said:Just read the following on Deb's site:
"Does the Polynesian offer nightly turndown service?
Concierge guests will receive this service upon request"
I thought turndown was automatic for concierge Is it or do I need to request it?
