Congrats Justthat!!! My 2 boys are 26 months apart and we are surviving well!! I found out on Christmas Day last year and I was due on Sept 3rd! He arrived early on Aug 12. I feel so blessed to have my 2 little boys, even though it is a test of my patience some times.

Congrats again!!!

Just a brief check-in right now b/c I HAVE to get my students' tests graded and put their grades online.

I just had my yearly visit from some of our board members. They like to come around at Christmas time and shake hands and pretend as if they know who we are. Although, the board president is my little sister's godfather. Anyway, I made it through that and have tests and a bunch of make-up work to get graded today.

DH and I went to bed last night at 8:30! Jimmy joined us about 15 miuntes later. Honestly, ladies, I don't know what to do about his not sleeping in his crib. He stand up, holds on to the rails, and screams. I'm scared he's going to flip himself over the rail, or try to climb out. What do I do?

justthat - Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I'm so scared of getting pg right now b/c my life is so crazy. I'm happy you're happy!

jill - Beautiful photos! I'm glad everything went well with the baptism and feeding everyone. Isn't Wegman's a great store?

Alice - I hope you and the kids have a great holiday. I'm glad so many folks in your community are supporting the military families.

Sorry if I missed any of you! I have to get back to grading my school stuff!

I would just take him to bed with me. If that's where he's happiest then why not? Babies/toddlers aren't solitary creatures, they need you. Night and day. You'll both get more sleep. :flower:

congrats justthat! Let us know how your husband reacts ;)

lisawynn - i have no idea! That must be so tough!

tamie

Wow. I have so much catching up to do. I really hope I don't miss anyone.

Justhat - CONGRATULATIONS! :flower:

llij - Glad the baptism went well. You have a lovely family. Your girls look like such proud big sisters!

Tasha - Have a good time at the family reunion. I love the new pics of Kylie. She's getting so big! I'm glad she likes Elmo!

tkyes - Congrats on your DH's graduation!

tkyes & zalansky - I've been watching the Gauntlet too. I agree - Jo's crazy.

Hillbeans - I love the Santa picture. :)

DisKim - Glad Aidan is feeling better.

Hi to Alice28, lissawynn, nucpharm, vald, J&D, and joats! I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I read all the posts but I can't remember what I was going to reply!

Lucas is 6 months today! Happy Half-Birthday to him! We also had his 6 mo checkup. He's 17 lbs, 1 oz and 27.5 inches. Guess my car seat questions were premature. I thought for sure he'd be near 20 lbs! I don't know what percentile he is for H&W. Our regular ped left the practice so we had another fill in and it threw us off so much I forgot to ask. He also had his shots and a flu shot and we're now onto stage 2 foods. He's been sleeping since we left the office. I forgot the Tylenol (bad mommy - LOL!) before we went, but I hope he won't need it.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. I have no idea when my husband is coming home today, especially with all the NYC MTA workers on strike, so I'm so glad I was able to tell 'someone'. Tamie, I'll be sure to let you know how he reacts. I think he totally thought it was just me being overly panicked about something again and that it wasn't really a good possibility so I think he'll be quite surprised. Happy though, as he told me a couple of weeks ago (right before this one was conceived actually) that he was ready for #2 and he'd be happy with it coming next year (yeah, of course he's ready, he doesn't do much with babies!). Tasha that's horrible for you guys that your MIL felt that way at first. My mom had a similar reaction with Madison, saying we were ruining her life by having her 3 months before we were married, not having a baby shower or christening for her, etc. Well about 2 days later she made a 180 and said 'let's go crib shopping' and was fine since then, but it was very hard on me at first. Well, I should clarify, it was actually about a month of that reaction, but for almost 4 weeks of that we weren't living with her and she was under some crazy assumption that I would get an abortion when I got to NJ. She even got me a dr's appointment with an ob who does abortions. I was so upset that she felt this way I cried for the 1st few days we were at her house (went to visit her in August for 2 weeks). It was so hard too as it's not like we planned on having a baby then so we had a big adjustment to make and not having any support in the beginning was rough. My husband didn't tell his family till I was 19-21 weeks (he told people 1 at a time and made them not tell anyone). Don't even ask why, cause I have no idea, he was just so weird about it, I think cause of my mom's reaction, but his parents were pregnant when they got married so I really didn't think they'd be able to say much (and they didn't they were very happy). So I was hoping 2nd time around I'd get a better feeling from my mom but not so sure now. Honestly, we planned to have a 3 year age difference too, but mostly cause of our circumstances right now, but I definitely felt ready to have another one the past few months. I just hope my mom gets over it as fast this time too, but I think it will take longer, while I hear all about how I'm ruining Madison's life. AngieWin, glad to hear that you'r managing just fine with the spacing between your boys-it's a relief to hear right now!

Alice28, I just noticed that your counter says 2 weeks!! (I know, and 6 days, but just think, it's under 3 weeks now!) You must be getting so excited now, and your boys too.

SL, happy 6 month birthday to Lucas!

Lissawynn, Madison actually did just what you're afraid Jimmy will do, she leaned so far over the rail that she fell out of the crib. And yeah, we had it all the way on the lowest setting and the rail was up, but someone she propelled herself out. It was actually at my mom's house and my mom's beagle was laying at the foot of the crib and Madison wanted to get out to play with him so she did! She was 14 months old at the time and so when we got back home to DC we bought her a toddler bed. Until that point she really only slept half the night in the crib anyway, then slept with us in the bed till the morning. Once we got the toddler bed though she'd stay in it all night (not sleep all night of course, but she'd go back in the toddler bed without a fight when we got up to walk her back to bed). Oh, and I wasn't exactly thrilled to think I might be pregnant this month either, don't worry. We were incredibly careful every month, but I made a serious miscalculation a couple of weeks ago, thinking the 1st of my fertile days was actually my last, and well, we see where that led!

I'm anxious to hear how your DH reacts too!!! :cool1:

lissawynn- Molly does the same thing sometimes. My only advice is that if you want to just let him scream it out, do it on a 3 day weekend or so that both you and your DH don't have to work. That way you won't be stressed out about getting up the next morning. That's what we did with the boys, I remember quite clearly; Sam it was Memorial Day weekend; Joshua it was Christmas break (both around the 6 month mark). Jimmy is a smart one- he knows you or DH will come in and rescue him! And hey, I do it with Molly a lot of the time cause I NEED TO SLEEP. It's survival sometimes, you know!

About my countdown- I'm still taking it with a grain of salt. Now I am hearing to expect it to be more like the 19th, but darnit, I'm not changing my countdown! I do know that FOR SURE they are leaving Iraq on the 7th, but maybe sitting in Kuwait for up to a week. Hope not.

I woke up with a sinus headache today- ugh....and I have a lot of cleaning to do today, as I am expecting some sort of company now for the next 4 days. Mostly just friends or my family, but Thursday night that whole extended family who bought tons of gifts for us is coming- she said if I don't mind, a LOT of people show up, along with Santa. Oh lordie. I need to email her and tell her that I live on a dead end, so parking may be a challenge! I feel like I need to go make some chex mix or cookies to have on hand. Ever the hostess....people coming to bring me food and gifts and I want to serve food! I know I'm repeating myself, but it's very strange to be on the receiving end of charity, particularly when I don't feel like we're 'needy.' But you know what, I NEED my husband home, so I guess I am needy.

OK, I must get my butt out of this chair and drag the vacuum out, get the kids dressed, put laundry away cause now there are already 3 new loads to start.

Justhat - Congratulations!!!!! What wonderful news! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm so very excited for you. I hope that your mom will be excited for you as well. :grouphug: I think that the age difference between your children will be wonderful.
Add me to the group of women that wants to hear about your husband's reaction to the wonderful news.

SL - Happy half birthday to Lucas! :wizard: I love the picture you have of him in your signature.

Tamie - Congratulations on your DH's graduation. You must be so proud of him as it is a wonderful achievement! :goodvibes

Lisawynn - Yes, I love Wegmans! When they came to town everyone was so excited! It was a major event to tour that grocery store. :teeth: I wish that I had some advice on Jimmy and the crib. My girls had muscle problems so they were never able to climb out of the crib which was a blessing in disguise. I had a friend who bought a net to put over the crib so he couldn't fall out. She liked it and he didn't mind it. Good luck to you! :grouphug:

Tasha - That is so wonderful that you are done with your Christmas shopping. I wish I was done, but I have a little bit left. My MIL comes back in town on Thursday which means those days are out for shopping. Have fun at your family reunion! :sunny:

Zalansky - Good luck with Cameryn's baptism. Does the church let you pick a date or do they assign you one?

Alice - I'm sorry to hear that you have a headache. Good luck with getting everything done. :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments on the baptism and the pictures! :sunny: You all will make my head swell! :earboy2: I have to say that black is very slimming. I feel very out of shape but you all make me feel great with your nice compliments.

Gotta run....I need to finish my Christmas cards. I am soooo late with getting them out this year. :earseek:

Everyone have a great day! :flower:

soooo much to cacth up on with everyone, however I just have to say:

Congratuations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :goodvibes

My frined from grad school just called to say she is pregnant too. This little guy really wants to be, because he made it through 2 forms of birth control. ;)

However her and DBoyfriend are not living together yet or married. Mostly because he has children from his 1st marriage and they wanted to take things slow for them. That all changes now. She said she was on the fence before with when to get married, but this has sped things up. (and took her off the fence so to speak.) I am very happy for her, she majored in infant mental health and has always wanted to be a mom, but wasn't sure it would happen for her.

Funny thing was that afernoon I felt so sick, I felt pregnant myself (I know I am not.) I even ended up taking a zofran to keep things down. Turns out it was a migraine headache.

Alice 28, not long now! So excited for your family!

Our house is rather full lately. My brothers children are living with us and while I love having them, the house is full and I am tried. Being a mom to 5 is hard, even if they are older and helpful with the younger ones.

I felt the same way over the weekend!! That would have been a big shock with a 4 month old, the minipill and bfing every 3 hours!

I haven't had many migraines, but this one just knocked me out. Smells hurt, lights hurt, sounds hurt, I felt nauseous... yup, just like early morning sickness for me!

Dang it, ladies! I think the holidays are going to make me have an ulcer soon! Every time I post that I am officially done shopping something else comes up! My dad just emailed (and then IMed) me asking if we could come over to their house Friday night to exchange gifts. He gave me his sob story about how much he misses us and how he feels so sad not seeing his grandchild in so long and how he wants her to know who he is, etc., etc. We've heard this all before. He says he has a bunch of gifts for her as well as us and really wants to see us. Now he has not seen her since she was 2 months old but that is his fault, not ours. Every time we make plans with him he always cancels. I cancelled the last time though b/c he wouldn't commit to any definite plans and I was tired of wondering if I should make other plans or not. Anyway, Scott has been working long hours on Friday nights the past 2 weeks and since it is the day before Christmas Eve I am not sure if he will be able to get off early or not but if he can then we will go. Sooo now I need to buy my dad and his wife and my little (half) sisters who are 10 and 8 gifts! Ugh! I would have bought them something anyway but I haven't heard from him in months so I just assumed we wouldn't be seeing him this year! So much for taking tomorrow easy...I am definitely taking Thursday easy though (keeping my fingers crossed anyway)!

SL~ Happy half b-day to Lucas! I don't know about his weight but I know he is tall! Kylie was 27 and 1/4 inches at her 7 month checkup and was in the 78th percentile so you can bet Lucas is well up there in percentiles!

Alice~ I wouldn't change my countdown either. Just leaving Iraq is worth counting down to even if he is delayed in Kuwait for a week, which hopefully he won't be!

lissawynn~ Good luck with the crib issue! We aren't to that point yet so no advice here.

DisneyPhD~ Yes, you certainly sound like a busy mom w/5 kids! :earseek: Good luck!

justhat~ I hope your mom's reaction will be much better this time! I would have been so upset if my mom or MIL had suggested an abortion with Kylie. I look at her and could literally not imagine my life without her and it is getting hard to sometimes remember what life was like before her too. Oh, and count me among those who can't wait to hear your dh's reaction!

Jill~ Lol, about the Christmas cards going out so late! Maybe add something cute or funny in there about how hectic it has been with the baptism and an infant the past few weeks that your mommy brain forgot to get the cards out earlier. People will understand, trust me, especially those with children! ;)

Well, it is nearly 4 here and dh should be home in about an hour and we have to be at the reunion (about 40 min. away from here) by 6 so we are going to be rushed for time. I managed to do 3 loads of laundry today and some dishes so I need to go put the dishes away and fold clothes before dh gets home...yay! Fun, not!

Justhat--Congrats!! :) My kids are 23 months apart. I wasn't sure how it would be with the two of them. It's tough, but well worth the effort. I had a mom at the library tell me that right now (my kids being 2 and 6 weeks) that I'm probably hating the decision for having them so close together. But that in a year or two, that I would know how good a decision it was, b/c they'll be great friends. I hope so! Good luck with telling DH and all the other relatives.

Still in the process of getting ready to leave town on Friday. My aunt came up today to help with the kids so I could get some thing done. I actually got suitcases out today and made a packing list. That's progress, right? It's amazing how adding one child to the family exponentially increases how much we have to pack. It should be interesting packing for WDW in January! Well, Matthew is crying, time to go!

:wave2: Hey all,

Jill,
What great pictures from the baptism! Thanks for sharing them.

Robin,
Jenn Lynn is right. Your kids deserve those toys :grouphug: .

SL,
Happy 6 month birthday to Lucas :) !

Justthat,
Congratulations on your happy news :flower: ! Have you figured out your due date yet?

Lisaywynn,
My DS was the same way with the crib. He never would sleep in the thing. Now Katrina is starting to do the same thing. If you figure out something that works, let me know, okay ;) ?

DisneyPhd,
Yes, I would say you must be tired with 5 kids in the house!

Tasha,
I love the new pictures of Kylie! She is so beautiful :) . Have fun tonight.

Nucpharm,
Good luck getting ready for Friday!

Well, Katrina is really rolling all over these days. She can go from tummy to back and from back to tummy so she can get where she wants. She also started making these little kissy noises back at me when I do it to her. It's soooo cute  .

I can't believe Christmas is in 5 days! I am so looking forward to it.

Hey everyone -

Congratulations justhat!! I am so pleased for you - I am sure that your DH will be great - I think if I told mine that I was pregnant again now he would be so pleased! ( he wants our kids to be really close together so that they are play mates etc) :sunny:

Jill - So glad your baptism went well, your pictures are lovely

Diskim - Thanks for keeping us updated with Aidan, I am so glad that he is a bit better!

Tasha- I know what you mean about hectic life and never ending Christmas shopping - never mind theres only 5 days to go!

Sorry if I missed anyone out - I can never remember everything that everyone has said so I usuallt take notes - but to be honest I am DISing in bed! :rotfl: at the moment and all of my note taking stuff is downstairs!

I am working hard at the moment too as I am trying to set up my own business, mainly so that I don't have to go back to work when my Maternity leave is up, I have a full time job to go back to in May, but I don't officially have to tell them that I am going back until 28 days before I am going to start back so it gives me a good 5 months ish to try and get things off the ground - hopefully it will all work out and then I won't have to, if it doesn't take off then I will have to but at least I will have tried huh?

DH is working until 11pm today as he works shifts, so I have just made up Shelby's bottles and they are in the sink cooling, he can fridge them when he gets in. Shelby has been really grouchy this last two days ahe has constipation the poor thing - I have been giving her water and sugar water to try and ease it, hopefully she will be a bit better tomorrow - I hope so as she is staying with my mom in the morning as I am goiing to finish my shopping in town and then I am going for our department dinner from work, that will be nice - I won;t be mentioning that I may not be going back though! :)

Just another quickie - do any of you use Grobag sleeping bags for your babies instead of blankets and sheets? I got one for Shelby and they are great 2.5 tog so you don;t have to worry about them losing their sheets etc in the night and you know that they are warm/not too warm aswell. I can't tell you how pleased we are with ours - just thought I would share a recommendation.

Hope everyone else is well and sorry to those I missed out.

Gems xx

Justhat - OMG!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for you. Oh man, if you can make yourself wait until Sunday, you should suprise your DH for Christmas. Wouldn't it be cool to put the test in his stocking or something? I would never be able to wait though.

Well, I spoke too soon about Aidan's health. My babysitter called me panick-stricken today because Aidan woke up with his face so red that he looked like he'd been burned. I took him to the doctor and he found that he has an ear infection now. Oddly enough, the doctor never took his temperature, so I took it when I got home. It was 101 degrees! I'm keeping him home tomorrow but he's already exposed the other babies to whatever it is he has. I feel so bad. I hope none of them get sick. His doctor kept telling me that he wasn't contagious. I had him there three times in less than a week. What more can I do? He's going to miss his little Christmas party at the sitter's tomorrow. She was so upset that he won't be there. Well, I have to go try to clean my disaster of a house so my MIL doesn't realize what slobs we all are when she comes over to watch Aidan tomorrow. I hate this. I want to quit my job in the worst way. I can't keep up with three kids and this job.

Poor Aiden :( I'm so sorry. I really hope he feels better soon.

It must be something in the water - Tyler has a bit of a temp tonight too.

tamie

Oh, poor Aidan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Hope he feels better and Kim, I really hope that you can find a way to work out your job situation. I am praying for a winning lotto ticket for you. :teeth: :wizard:

Gems- I think I know those sleeping bag things you're talking about. They are supposed to be safer for babies than blankies...I bought some from Carters and my kids all loved them, but I still put a blankie on them anyway. :teeth:

Tasha- ughhhhhhhhhhhh...how annoying about having to go back out and shop! Can't you say, "Sure dad, I would love to come, but I don't have time to run out and shop- hope you understand?" :confused3

Still in a funk today. I think I'm just not going to complain about it anymore. I feel like a broken record. Miss hubby....feeling sad....feeling weird about all the donated stuff....miss hubby....can't wait til he's home....feeling sad. ;)

Can I just share something funny though- my neighbors across the street, god bless em, they mean well, but they give me the WEIRDEST stuff. I got a box of canned food from them today (am I poor? Not the last time I checked- I know that could go to some people who really need it, but I digress) and one of the things in the box was.............get ready to laugh..............a packet of crushed pecans from Wendy's!!!!!!!!!! You know, like to top your salad with? I just about died. Gee, THANKS! :rotfl: :rotfl:

 YAY JUstthat! Congratulations! I can't wait to hear about your DH's reaction too. We all get to live vicariously through you, especially those of us who are done having babies! Our kids are 2 years 9 months apart...I hope they will be close as they grow up!!!

Diskim - I hope Aiden starts feeling better soon, especially for Sunday...poor little guy.

Jill - we get to choose a date for the baptism once they approve we are in "good standing."...which really means once they verify we having been giving them money.

Gems - good luck with your business, I will keep my fingers crossed it takes off and you can stay home!

Tasha - hope you had fun tonight!

Alice - saw the new Gymbo line, happy gymbucks redemption will come in time to get some of it. :p

Hope everyone is doing well and keeping warm! :cold:

justhat- having 2 kids is fun! I have 2 DD's just 19 months apart, my almost 2 yr old is giving me a workout while my 4 month old just sits and watches me chase her sister around the house. I love having 2 kids, I may even try for 1 more next year. Congratulation's and best wishes to you and your family and the new little one.

Hello everyone! im not feeling so well today, I woke up with my Uvula all swollen (uvula is the hanging ball thing in the back of the throat you see when you open your mouth wide) I couldn't yell at DD I couldn't eat, my throat was so sore, I never had it swell on me before so it freaked me out. It went down alot, but right now I can feel it slightly swollen still. I hope in the morning it doesn't inflame again.
Well take care mommies and mommies-to-be, keep your little one's warm
