gwcollins - Congrats on finishing school and your thesis! Congrats also on booking your trip. DH and I once took a trip with another couple (before kids) and I was ready to kill them by the time we left. Too much togetherness. I think meeting up sometime during the day would be fine.

DisneyPhD - Glad they didn't need you for a jury.

GLT - Glad you had a great trip. I'd love to see some of your pictures.

Alice28 - What a strange woman your neighbor is. You'd think she'd have gotten a clue when you went about your business. Good luck to your DH on the job lead.

nucpharm - Good luck with your DH out of town.

DisKim - Good luck with your exercising. I'm so bad about it. My yoga class ended last week and you can bet that I haven't done a thing since.

llij - I don't have a picture of the dress yet. I was supposed to pick it up last week but never made it to the dress shop and I hope to tomorrow.

:wave2: to everyone else!

I'm trying a new flavored coffee I found at Target - Vanilla Berry. It's very good. That's my excitement for the day. :surfweb: Talk to you all later!

Good morning everyone! I'm really busy at school, so I have had no time to DIS. My progress reports are due on Thursday, and I'm trying to get all of my post-tests grades so I can include those scores in the reports.

I hope you are all well, and I hope I can read up and chat with you all later this afternoon!

:sunny: Hi,
The past few days I have come on here to post a reply but I am so behind in posts that by the time I read them all my time is up :confused3 !

Real quick:

Robin,
Love the hair! And the pics of Molly are great too princess: .

Nucpharm,
I'll be thinking of you the next two weeks :grouphug: . Just think - no one to share the tv with and you get to have whatever you want for dinner :) .

Justhat,
Good luck with your busy month.

GLT,
I'm so happy the trip went well  . Can't wait for the trip report.

Jill,
I'm also praying for JP.

Joats,
Sending prayers for Jace also.

Hi to everybody else  . I have missed getting on here with my bum thumb. I'm back to being able to type although somewhat clumsily.

The big news around here is that I gave my two weeks notice yesterday at work :cheer2: ! Things have gone from bad to worse there and I am getting out now. I feel like a weight has been lifted from me. Of course, now I need to start looking for a new job. I don't even care though that's how bad I wanted to get out.

I go on Thursday to get my stitches out and also to the orthopedist.

Well, I guess I should go and get in the shower to go to work. Only 9 more days and I'm free :Pinkbounc !

vald - Good for you for making the decision to quit. It's obviously the right thing to do if you feel so relieved after doing it! You'll easily find something else. Good luck getting your stitches out. I hope the thumb is healing nicely.

gwcollins - Congratulations on finishing school! Way to go. I think you are better off with your group being away from you. You can meet up as much as you want, but you'll be so happy to have time away from them and just hang out as a family!

alice - LOL about your neighbor. I can't believe she just stood there. I would have felt so stupid!

gtl - Can't wait to see pics!

disneyphd - That's great that they didn't need you for the jury!

I'm going to hop in the shower. It finally stopped raining today so I'm going to try and take Tyler for an afternoon walk. I feel like I haven't been outside in weeks!

Have a good day!

Tamie

Did anyone watch Martha Stewart yesterday? I missed the part where her and Rosie Perez were on. What did they top the meatloaf with? If you go to her website and answer the question, you will be eligible to win $10,000!

She sat in a chair right next to mine and ate a sugar free sucker and wacthed me the whole time. (and talked to herself, it wa pretty cute.) She has new minnie robee shoes from TDS and she kept saying "minnie shoes, minnies shoes." She wanted us to admire them.

Dis PhD --

We must have the Minnie Robeez! ::MinnieMo Did you actually go to the store to get them or did you order on line? I checked the Robeez site and there aren't any Minnie ones there.

How much were they. I have to get them. I just spent 15 minutes searching on them while my students are taking thier constitution tests. I am now obsessed and on a mission. If I have to go to the store, I might stop at the Mall today.

Well, we've had a productive morning. We hit Big Lots 1st and found some great deals on food stuffs. then we had Emma's dress fitting. The seamstress said that the dress would be ready on the 15th (we leave for the wedding on the 17th). Nothing like cutting it close, huh? And then we had to run to Target b/c like you SL, we had a diaper emergency. I went to get Matthew a diaper this am and had an empty bag on the dresser! Luckily, there were 2 diapers in the diaper bag.

Here are some pics of Emma in her dress and I threw in one of Matthew just because!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday. My DAunt called today and invited the kids and me to her house this weekend. Yeah! Now I don't have to search around for stuff to do with DH being gone. Will be checking in again tonight!

Well just saying hello. :thumbsup2

My first mouseketeer will be arriving late September. Any other mommies due then?

These are ones The Disney Store sells. (so they aren't actual Robeez) I am trying to find a link to it. I don't know why, but the web site just doesn't seem to be working right now.

They are super cute and cost only $15. They have other charaters too, but Lily is a minnie girl (she calles Mickey Minnie too.)

nucpharm29, she looks like a little princess in that dress. How cute!

Lily learned a new phrase today. It was raining when we came out of the Mall and Anna was singing rain rain go away. Lily said "go away rain" again and again. Lovley, now she can say "go away." I hope this one won't come back to bit us in the butt! Still it was very cute!

Afternoon everyone! I am finally finished with my post-tests and progress reports. Yay!
I am off the hook for a little while as far as school work is concerned. I will be SO miserable next Wednesday, though. That's when their research papers are due. Nothing like 120 research on western and eastern European countires to get your blood pumping.

DH and I have been walking the last couple of nights b/c the weather has been beautiful. That means no DIS time for me, but my thighs are thanking me. I have to do something to offset the Coke and Hershey's with almonds I can't seem to stop ingesting.

I hope everyone and the babies are well. Jimmy had his first bleeding incident on Sunday. He was throwing a tantrum and threw himself on the LR floor, face down. He managed to open up his top gum and was bleeding pretty well for a few minutes. Needless to say, I've had enough of that for some time.

I hope to catch up tonight or tomorrow. Have a good night all!

SL - Sorry the carousel didn't go well for Lucas. At least you have plenty of time to get him used to rides before your trip. BTW, I did Niagra Falls with a couple of girls friends a few years ago and we loved it!

Robin - I love your hair and Molly is just adorable! I am so jealous of your weather too. It's usually still in the 40's/50's here.

Welcome Happyrebster!

Floridafam - hope the kiddies are feeling better.

Jill - Happy belated anniversary! I am praying for little John and I'm sure everything will go well for you! As for the cravings with Aidan, once I could eat, all I wanted were chicken wings. Chicken Wing is still his nickname to this day!

nucpharm - Good luck while Dh is away. I hate it when my dh is away. Emma is so cute in her dress! Matthew is a Cutie too, of course!

joats - I hope Jace is feeling better.

Yay to all the mommies getting in their exercise. I hated to exercise before we joined the Y but now, I love walking their indoor track. I am up to 2 miles a day. I think its easier because I can push Aidan in his stroller. He loves it. I usually take out a book on cd and throw it in the walkman and go and the miles just fly!

gwcollins - Nice to see you! Congrats on finishing your thesis!

DisneyPHD - Glad you got out of jury duty!

Hi pouty tink! There is also an Official Moms to Be thread you might like! I currently am posting on both! Here's the link:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=784730&page=342&pp=15

Hi to all the other mommies! I am going back to Aidan's regular formula. he is not taking to the Next Step at all. Some one else had mentioned their family had the stomach bug in the last few weeks. Who ever it was, did it have "residual" days? I am trying to figure out if I am having m/s or just the bug. It dosent feel like m/s so I may just be taking longer to kick it. I go a few days of being fine then WHAMO! Who knows

pouty_tink- Congratulations, and welcome!

nucpharm- Beautiful dress.

lissawynn- Congrats on finishing your progress reports.

Val- Good luck with the new job search.

Tamie- Have a nice walk.

TTFN!

Hi everyone!!!

I feel so spoiled! This is the second time today I've gotten to check the boards! Its as many times as I checked the boards in the last month. I am so glad to be back. :)

Nucpharm – Emma looks like a little princess! princess: Beautiful!! I love the pic of Matthew too. What cuties you have.

Lisawynn – I know how you feel about getting 120 papers at once. No life for at least a week. Our research topics are all on the Civil War. We are doing a Civil War “Museum Exhibit.” Most of the kids are doing presentation boards, but I have a couple with powerpoint presentations and 2 kids that are doing a “newscast” of one of the battles. Can you tell I hate research papers? I have my rubric and things the kids need to include in their projects for 90 percent of their grade and then the kids grade each others projects for the final 10 percent (with teacher override if necessary)

DisPhD – Thanks for the shoe info. Please let me know if you find it. We must have those shoes!!!!!!

Lily is having a hissy fit at my feet right now. She doesn’t want to be held and she doesn’t want to sit on the floor. So she’s at my feet screaming and grabbing my leg. Such the drama queen. She definitely has my personality. I feel sorry for her future husband.

Welcome Pouty Tink! :wave2:

I need to get to the screaming stinker. Hope everyone has a great day!

Gretchen

:goodvibes Have any of you gone to Disney pregnant? Any tips or suggestions.. I'll be there next month when im 6 months. Im sure I'll enjoy myself (it IS Disney) but Im a little worried nonetheless. :sunny:

Hi and welcome. I have been to WDW a few times pregnant. The 1st time I was 32 weeks and need a break from winter. It was a great time. No problems. I didn't mind missing rides, infact it was a little good to get used to. ;) The 2nd time was only 8 weeks (The trip was planned long before I was became pregnant.) The last time wasn't really WDW but Vero Beach (and we visited some of the WDW resorts and DTD.) That I think was the best trip. Vero beach is a great relaxing vacation. All the Disney quailty at the beach! :cheer2:

Anyway the 1st time I was at WDW pregnant I really thought I would be the only crazy pregnant women. WRONG. All over the place, I just never noticed before. You will be fine, your trip will be fine. If you do a Dis serach you will find many threads that talk abou this. (sometiems the serach funtion isn't working.)

Edited to add, I can't find them on line, but any Disney Store carries them now. Super cute!

lissawynn & Gretchen- One year I had 175 students, and it was such a pain to have to grade so many papers and projects. I would always have to stay up until 12 or 1 to get all of my grading done. I get so irritated when I hear people talk about how teachers have such an easy job (only working 8-4, 5 days/week with holidays and summers off).
:furious:

pouty_tink- I went to WDW when I was 4 weeks pregnant. I actually found out I was pregnant while there.

pouty tink - Congratulations! I also went to WDW when I was pregnant. I was about 5 months along. It was great...just drink a lot of water and rest as often as you need to.

gwcollins - I saw the Robeez-like shoes at the Disney Store, too. They have several characters. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Pooh, Tigger, Ariel, and 101 Dalmations are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head. Someone mentioned that they match the summer outfits they have out, which I didn't even notice when I was there. I couldn't find them online.

bellacam - I never tried the Next Step formula. Lucas will be on the regular formula until we switch over to milk.

tkyes - I hope you got to go outside. It's been chilly and rainy here for the past few days but tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful.

Val - Congrats on getting your stitches out and for giving your 2 weeks notice! I hope you can find another job.

lissawynn - Glad you got your grading done. Poor Jimmy! I hope he's doing better today.

nucpharm - Emma looks like a princess! Matthew is getting so big. He's adorable. Great pictures.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

I got my closet cleaned out and organized last night. I have 2 bars for shirts and one for pants/dresses. I ended up using one for fall/winter shirts and one for summer/spring shirts and I organized them by color. :thumbsup2 We'll see how long that lasts. I had to just cram all my pants and dresses on the other bar so there's not much organization there. DH took Lucas to the IL's last night and I had been looking forward to cleaning all day. How sad is that? :lmao:

Good morning! I finally have some time to get caught up here. I am done my school stuff for the next few days and don't have much going on here to keep me preoccupied. My students are peer-editing one another's papers, so I just give them the directions and watch the clock for each session to be finished. It's nice to have a break, even if it's only for one day!

I'll get to posting a little later. I have so much to read and catch up on.
I hope you're all having a great Wednesday!

Good morning ladies...

Relaxing for a few before the troops arrive.

Yeah lisawynn, any break is wonderful. Only one of my groups this year can work cooperatively (my homeroom from last year) the other ones cannot manage to do anything that requires any brain function. Perhaps I'm a bit bitter. Do you use a rubric for peer editing or just red pens?

J&D -- I totally know what you mean about the easy teacher job comments. Yes, lousy teachers have it easy... but anyone who does a good job uses a lot of personal time to prepare. I can't seem to plan during my plan periods. I follow up with students and their parents or prepare stuff for my team.

SL -- Our closet has been a disaster since we moved in. I never got to organizing it the way I like and hubby puts things anywhere.

I'd better go, I hear the troops. I'll check back later. Oh yeah, I'm heading to the Disney story after work today for some shoe shopping. :teeth:

Later Ladies!

Gretchen

SL - I love to clean and organize my closets. I'm dedicating a week of my summer vacation to cleaning out all of our closets and the kitchen cabinets. I'm hoping to get rid of a lot of the things we don't need.

J&D - Things have been especially busy this year b/c this 7th grade class is huge. Next year I have six sections, but the class is much smaller than this one. I'm hoping for less than 20 students per section.

pouty tink - I went to WDW in the very early stages of my pregnancy and was really sick. I spent most of my time in the hotel room watching the coverage of Pres. Reagan's funeral. It was terrible. I should have just stayed home.

Gretchen - I am going into grading these papers with the realization that these are the last batch for the year. That's the only thing that will help me get through them. Also, we're beginning mythology and I'll be showing the kids Hercules while I'm grading. I usually have about 10-15 students who don't hand in a paper, so that cuts back on my grading.

bellacam - We had the stomach flu a few weeks ago, but it was gone after about 4 days. I hope you all are feeling well soon. You didn't eat sour cream with your cookies, did you? Enjoy your walking!

nupcharm - Emma is so beautiful in her dress. Matthew is quite a cutie, too.

Val - I hope your thumb is back to normal soon. I'm glad you gave notice at your job if that's what is right for you. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding somethng else.

GTLT - I can't wait to hear about your trip.

DisPhD - Have a great time on your trip!

Robin - Our neverending dislike of our neighbors has reached a new high. I have counted about 30 or so cigarette butts on my sidewalk, yard, gutter, street, etc. NO ONE smokes on our block except for our horrible nieghbors. I had half a mind to pick all of them up yesterday and put them in one of their open car windows. I've decided that I'm just going to start calling the police and reporting all of the shady things they do, including the littering. I can't take their lack of respect for themselves and our neighborhood any longer.
Are you getting ready for your WDW trip? I am so jealous and wish I was going sooner than the end of July.
Btw, love the hair!

joats - I hope Jace is feeling better. Good luck at the dr's on Thursday!

DisKim - I hope your school days pass quickly! I am dreading the next few weeks, but all the work will be worth it when June 6th gets here!

floridafam - I hope your kids are feeling better. When are you going to WDW?

Welcome rebster! :wave2:

Hi to zalansky, Tamie, BnB, and all the other moms!

I think I forgot to mention that we've been walking almost 2 miles the last several nights. I need to slim down my hips and thighs. I never had weight on my hips before I had Jimmy. Now it just sits there.
I cashed in my LL Bean coupons yesterday and got Jimmy a boat and tote bag. It's the navy, white, and lemon yellow striped one. I figured it will be his "suitcase" until his stuff no longer fits in it.

:teacher: Back to work!
