***The Official May 2016 Thread!!***

Looks like spectators are given special room rates at Coronado and All Stars, similar to a Pop Warner event...

I don't see anyone visiting or participating in the events being a pain like a PW kid and their families! There are only 500 competitors and the events are across the week- 9th to 12th.

http://invictusgames2016.org/invictus-games-2016-schedule/

It's called The Invictus Games (https://invictusgamesfoundation.org/) and it is an Olympic type competition founded by Prince Harry to honor and empower service men and women who've made great sacrifices in their physical well being to defend the rest of us.
We'll be at CSR during the latter part of the Games and the Disney transportation is the least of my concerns since virtually all of the Competitors and their entourage, will be engaged in the events at ESPN.
My concern is how Security will affect our stay since Prince Harry, Mrs. Obama, and Mrs. Biden have all committed to attending the games and Former President George W Bush, as Honorary Chairman of the Games, may attend as well.

Shut the front door! Kinda in love with the royal family due to a childhood love of Princcess Di. But in all seriousness, this is an amazing event. We had a friend compete last year and do the walk in the UK with Prince Harry. She just had her leg amputated so not sure if she'll be competing this year. I wasn't expecting her to, but DH said she might. She is pretty hard core so I wouldn't doubt it. If so we'll be rearranging plans to see her compete.

Late to the thread, but we are going May 4-6. Two days at MK and one at AK. Celebrating our daughter's 4th birthday and our son's 7th birthday. It will also be our daughter's first time at any of the parks. We are super excited! Staying at AOA (Little Mermaid) which will be a first for all of us. I thought for sure that due to our late planning (early March), we wouldn't get much in the way of ADRs or FPs but I've been lucky (and very happy!):

BOG Dinner
BOG pre-park open breakfast (just scored this tonight thanks to Touring Plans)
CM breakfast

7DMT x 2
Peter Pan
A&E
Belle
Cindy & Rapunzel
Space Mountain
BTMRR
Kilimanjaro
Lion King

And technically, we have a FP for Everest, but my daughter isn't tall enough so I thought I'd find something else for her and I to do, but so far, nothing that is remaining looks that appealing. Hoping ROL will be running and we can make some changes. I'd love to do a night-time safari!

Still hoping to snag reservations at CRT and an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi.

Going May 21-27...Dining reservations set, FastPasses done...now just has to get here!!!! :)

Guess I should've said Fastpasses done (technically) since still waiting for Rivers of Light lol. Fingers crossed will have soft opening for Frozen Ever After and maybe Soarin (doubtful)....still have all the new Star Wars stuff to look forward to :) Even if Frozen and Soarin aren't around still so much to see and do so can't wait!!! :)

Frozen Ever After appears to be delayed so all fingers and toes crossed for you!!

<<36 days left and still deciding what to do on our last day. Our plane doesn't leave until 9:30pm so we have some time to go to a park until around 6pm. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Hubby is not help:)

Got a nice ADR for lunch and relaxing in MK on our last day, last chance to absorb the atmosphere

Looks like I'm late to this thread.. going May 20-24!! What all will be open of this new stuff? We are staying at the Waldorf Astoria. Does anyone know what that is like?

33 days from today!
It´ll be a second trip to half of my party and first trip to the other half. However, me and the so-called-wife, both being huge control freaks, we read all we could about Disney and we came up with our own plan, spreadsheets and all! I´m very proud of our little touring plans, considering the last time she´s been to WDW she was 9 yo and in my case, I went with my cousin-in-law which was more experienced than me, so I left all the planning to her. So here´s what we first-time planners came up with:
Sun - May 8th - check-in at All Star Movies in late afternoon/early evening and dinner (we have an ADR for Rainforest Cafe), shopping and sightseeing at the Springs!
Mon - May 9th - Universal parks (sorry Disney, but me and my party are huge fans of the wizard!)
Tue - May 10th - MK - fastpasses for SpaceMt, 7DMT and SpashMt, ADRs for lunch at BOG and dinner at CRT (we´re totally splurging here!)
Wed - May 11th - back to Universal for a non-Potter day
Thu - May 12th - Epcot - fastpasses for Spaceship Earth, TT and Charater Spot, ADR for lunch at Le Cellier
Fri - May 13th - DHS - fastpasses for TSMM, Star Tours and ToT, ADR for lunch at Sci-Fi
Sat - May 14th - another shopping day for Springs and heading to Miami.

Hope our plans are alright!! I keep checking my rainbow-colored spreadsheet over and over for mistakes lol.

Still doing the happy dance even after the ROL info yesterday (still have fingers crossed the figure it all out before my May23 AK day). It would've been nice to be there for something new but still excited to be there since it will be my DH's first visit (and it's been like 10years for me) so it'll all be new to him! :) Probably have more fun just seeing his reactions lol.

I'm very interested in your itinerary and specifically how you decided to split up your Universal days. We have two Universal days built into our May trip also but currently have those scheduled for back to back days. Can you please share any thoughts you have on how you decided to split up the days? I am looking at possibly changing to a similar arrangement. Thank you!

That wasn't my post but we also have 2 Uni Days in our week, it will be more like one full day and a 2 third day, but we split it just for variation.

With the Potter stuff we tend to Parkhop using the Hogwarts Express and do all of Potter in one go on the shorter day, then everything else the full day
