The Official Lime Lovin' Croc Exchange

I need to post somewhere, so I choose you my friends.

I am devistated and in shock today. I am an alumnus of Virginia Tech, and still maintain strong ties these 25 years later. The tragedy is unimaginable. Luckily the children of my friends who currently attend there, are all accounted for and safe. We lost 32 Hokies today though. I'm numb.

Hey Zdad. I know how you feel. I went to Tech and lived in WAJ where the first shootings took place. It hurts my heart to think about those poor kids and what has happened!:sad1:

Will any other Crocs be at MGM on May 2? puggymom and I will be meeting to exchange Fritzie - maybe his relatives will be around as well??

Just in case, we'll be at Dinosaur Gertie's (dino-shped ice cream place on the lake) at 11am and we'll be on the lookout!

So Freddie decided to go on another joyride in the Saab and we couldn't find him. To get details - see page 4 of my TR.

We found him at the end of the day, waiting for us at Guest Services. I told the CM all about him and she gave him a button that says WDW Honorary Citizen and wanted me to take her picture with him.

I'm so glad Freddie wasn't lost for good! Sounds like he had quite the adventure! We can't wait to hang out with him in October!

I hear ya. My step-daugher lives in W. AJ, 2 floors up from where the shooting was. DH is a Hokie, and other stepDD is going in the fall. SDD is fine. In fact she woke up at 8am, went to get ready for class and was told she couldn't leave the building. She thought it was due to weather. She went back to bed for a while, got up, heard the sirens, and somebody in the hall told her about the shooting. She never heard a thing, and didn't know what was going on until approx. 9:30am

My kids were quite upset today worrying about their older sis and wondering why VT is a "target" (remember there was an incident there at the beginning of the year). I just told them this type of thing could happen anywhere because it is a sick person and all we can do is be aware of surroundings, trust in God, and get on with our lives, not be paralyzed by fear. :sad1:

My prayers go out to those families who lost loved ones there. It's just horrific to think of something like this happening.

You are in my thoughts and prayers as well as all the families affected by this terrible tragedy. We may never know why such things happen, but we can honor those that died and those that survived will need the support of love and prayers that we can offer, even long distance. I am thankful for this cyber community that I have so recently joined and how quickly all responded to one members shock and devistation. Now, more than ever, I am proud to be a DISer and to offer my support. :grouphug: We are the majority, not the shooter.

I am a VT alumnae too and live in SW VA. My cousin, a junior there, is fine but grieves for 2 people (1 killed, 1 critically wounded). She would have been in Norris Hall for a class this morning. My teen said she doesn't want to go to school there anymore--but unfortunately it could happen anywhere or anytime.
Pray for all the families today--Tech will have a convocation at 2 today.

We will be at WDW June 12 thru June 19, 2007. We are staying at Fort Wilderness. The kids would love to be able to do this. Just let me know what else you need from me.

Take a look at the first page to see whether your dates aren't filled yet for a Focker Crocker. If you see open dates when you'll be travelling then PM sorul82? to get on the list! (That's what we did!)

Prayers to all those victims and families from Virginia Tech

zdad and mirthmaiden, my thought are with you and your families. Thank goodness you sdd is OK mirthmaiden:hug:

DH and I were driving up I95 on our way to PA to see my Sis. He wanted to stop at South of the Border. I said no. I like to get in the car and go. I don't want to stop unless it is an emergency bathroom break. I fell asleep and guess where I woke up? I was in the car, alone, sitting in the parking lot at South of the Border. DH just left me there and started looking around. We had a good laugh over that. Ohhhh but I got him back. I left him at the mall. That's another story....

:rotfl:

That's too funny! would love to hear the mall story... :flower3:
