***The Official June 2016 Thread***

Kids still have no clue...booked our trip just after school ends, 6/10-6/15, GF (again).
Happy with my FP selections and watching for any news of Soarin and FEA openings...Either way, always a great time in WDW. This time no strollers (yay!) and we are planning a water park day (or days). Very excited to be under the 60 day mark.

I too made out picks last night. Got everything I wanted then this morning went in and tightened up the times where they are back to back to back. Didn't do any FP+ at all for Epcot this year. We will definitely go there just not on FP+. Got park hopper so shouldn't be that big of a problem to work around.

One of the things I wasn't happy about when booking last night was not being able to get morning FPs for 7DMT. Well, that changed today :)

My advice to everyone who still needs to book is to not get too stressed about what happens when you initially book, since you can often tweak things to where you want them after the fact. Still hoping for that second-to-last-day Illuminations FP!

We actually avoided going to Disney during the years our kids were still using strollers because we didn't want to deal with them (the stollers) -- the kids were easily able to do Disney with no stroller by age 4. Then one year when our then 6 year old daughter was having a major bout with environmental allergies while we were there, we were forced to rent a stroller. Her allergy meds made her drowsy and we knew she wouldn't last more than a few hours in the parks if she had to walk everywhere. The stroller definitely saved our trip that year and I'm very glad we decided to rent one. However, after having been at Disney several times with no strollers, having to use one (parking it, finding it, maneuvering it through crowds and stores) was every bit of the PITB I thought it would be (though I'll say it was nice to have some place to put our drinks and other odds and ends we usually carry around the parks). I was soooooo happy to not need a stroller on the next trip. It was as liberating as when we decided to start going to the parks with no bags. Enjoy your stroller-free freedom on your trip!!!

Thank you for mentioning this. I'll be scheduling our FP's next Wednesday night at midnight so I could easily run into that same issue. Now I won't go in to full panic mode if that happens. :) I hope you're able to get your FP for Illuminations -- though I have to say, of all the ones not to get, that's probably one of the easiest to work around since there are still plenty of good places to watch Illuminations that don't require a FP. Last summer my son and I watched Illuminations from right in front of Italy and only got there about 8:30. We grabbed a drink and snack and just sat on the steps and waited. There was still plenty of standing room (and a little bit of space for sitting on the steps) at 9:00 when the show started.

After even more tweaking, I have 8 of my 10 days set exactly how I want them. I went from "no 7DMT on our first day" to "7DMT on our first day, but late afternoon", to "7DMT at 10:05". We wanted it at 10:00, but I guess I'll have to settle :)

The only outstanding question marks for me (besides the things that may or may not be open when we are there) is the Illuminations FP, which I'm confident I'll eventually get, and the breakdown of a DHS day, which ultimately will depend on whether we eat lunch at DHS or head back to CSR.

In all, it was a positive experience. I enjoyed the tweaking much more than the initial booking, but even that wasn't bad. I would prefer if existing plans for the day were more easily visible (currently on a pop-up), but it's definitely better than last year.

Now, how do I get through the 60 days until the trip? The planning is essentially done!

I booked all mine Monday night/Tues morning 4/5 at midnight. There were some things I didn't get at my exact time either and I checked all week for them. But as soon as the interface changed on Saturday night/Sun morning, I was able to modify and get exactly what I wanted, albeit a few are 5 or 10 min off. Glad you got what you wanted. I had seen that several days were unavailable for Illuminations on the DIBB, but now the DIBB is not able to show availability anymore. I hope you are able to get it or at least, find a great spot that night!

This is my dilemma now as well. Nothing left to plan...only wait! I've started ramping up the trip reports I'm reading and started watching vlogs on youtube. Very entertaining!

And you're satisfied with that?

;)
NO! LOL. Actually it depends. Two I'm totally fine with, but one (7DMT) I keep trying to move it from 6:55 to 6:45 but there are NONE available for that day. So I'll probably just live with it. Oh and a Star Tours one that I look occasionally on but honestly, its fine, too. Everything else is exactly when I want it. :)

I trust you've read all of mine?

(shameless plug!)

Since we have four Epcot days, I managed to find Illuminations FPs for 2 of 3 I wasn't looking at originally. Booked 'em both, and I'll change one of them to TT after talking to my wife. Yay!

HAHA...not yet! To be honest, I am mostly looking at newer ones...but I'll check out your June one from last year for sure, bc one - we are going in June this year and two - you've got kids. I have 2 boys (2 and 4.5) so I like to read the ones where something in them might apply to my situation!

Thanks for the suggestion! ;)

It's getting so hard not to tell my DD about our trip. I tweaked our packing list today and want to start picking up a few things. Keeping this a secret for 52 more days is going to be tough!

I'm officially in the June club! We booked our second trip last night! Going 6/26 thru 7/1....me, dh, ds (16) and his cousin (17) Not sure who's more excited...us or them :D

I'm moving over here from the May thread. I would much prefer May crowds but my health and stress levels just can't handle the scheduling gymnastics it was going to take to pull off the May trip.
Excited I didn't have to cancel the whole trip!

Good for you. Dealing with it and moving along. Welcome to June!

Wander what time the resort pools willl be closing in June. I hear that most now have fences around them.

I meant what time of day will they be closing as in 11 pm, midnight, 1 am. I thought they had fences installed around them already to keep guests out after certain time.
