***The Official June 2016 Thread***

Yes, you'll need to use both before you can book a FP for Epcot. The system will alert you that you can't yet book for a different park.

If you decide you want to add on a 3rd FP in MK, the new system does allow for that now.

mesaboy2 is updating his FP thread as info comes in on the new system. He has the updates in his first posts:

THANK YOU!!!

:love::flower1::disrocks:

The only crazy day is the Saturday 6/4 at MK. But I want my kids' first park to be MK so we are headed there in the afternoon after we arrive.
We are arriving around 11am on Saturday and by the time we get our rental and to the park, we decided on Epcot WS and dinner at Chefs DE France. We are debating if we should go to our rental first, get the key & drop off our luggage. After Illuminations we still have to stop at the market for some breakfast things. Talk about a packed day. We are going to have our "grand planning meeting" with my brother & SIL and try to figure this all out.

Also may I say curse you Universal for adding more Harry Potter attractions! We also have to squeeze in 2 days at Universal with park hoppers just to ride the Hogwarts train.

We just planned a mid June trip, and I was wondering if the crowds are really as bad as some people say. We visited over Thanksgiving before and the crowds were crazy! Is June that bad? Thanks!

Here is our gang and plans: DH & I (40 yrs married -we got married young!) My DB and SIL and their college son, who is still game for Disney. The 5 of us are seasoned vacation buddies and love to come "home" together! We will be at the parks w/of 6/4 thru 6/11.
Sat. - Arrive in sunny Florida and hopefully get to Epcot WS by 12pm. Dinner at Chefs De France
Sunday - Do Epcot Land and Sea pavilions and head over to MK. Late afternoon lunch at Crystal Palace
Monday - MK & dinner at Liberty Tree tavern (still hoping for an opening at BOG for either Sunday or on day lunch)
Tuesday & Wednesday - Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure
Thursday - HS and lunch at 50'sPrime Time Diner We booked the 8:30 Spirit of Aloha. What to do about the Star Wars fireworks? Change to early seating & go back to HS?
Friday - AK and dinner at Tusker House Hoping to add a ROL package to this
Sat - Disney Springs for souvenir shopping then to the airport (makes me sad just writing that)
June can't come quickly enough!

We've almost always gone to Disney in mid to late June due to school/work schedules so I can't really compare it to other times of the year, but we manage to get a lot done during our days in June. I think a good touring plan (with flexibility) beats the crowds every time. We do one rope drop day at each park (arriving at the park at least 45 minutes before the scheduled opening time). We try to take advantage of the lower crowds during the first hour or two that the park is open (this is especially effective at MK). We schedule our FPs for approximately 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00 and then usually head back to our resort by 2:00 for a nap and/or swim and to get away from the crowds at the parks. We head out to dinner around 6:00 and spend the evening in a park. Some nights we stay late (until closing) and other nights we just do a few things and head back to the room. We have 2 or 3 days that we schedule as "sleep in" days. On those days we schedule our FPs for mid afternoon. Other than the 3 FPs we schedule, we try to keep our sleep-in days flexible so we can go back to a park to hit some things we may have missed the first day there or since we're well-rested, we'll go to the night-time shows/fireworks those nights (we usually don't to fireworks on our full day in a park because that's another time that there are shorter waits at the rides).

I had no idea the FP+ rules had changed! Good to know! I hope making changes and new FP+ reservations work well on a mobile device.

The. Waiting. Is. So. HARD!

Meanwhile, I've been working on my reveal. I have decided to hand make an anniversary card and put the details of our trip within it. Our actual anniversary is the 1st and we leave on the 3rd, so he won't know until 2 days before we go.

I know how you feel!!! On our last trip, we went to Miami FL first because my husband had a trade show there. My DS went with us and we kept the Disney part of our trip a secret until the very last day. He thought our "vacation" was Dad working and spending days at the beach with Mom and he woke up on our last day thinking we were flying home. Then we gave him the big reveal that we were headed to Disney. The waiting was sooo excruciating! lol Best of luck with your reveal, that sounds so sweet!

Thank you so much for getting back to me And for all the great tips you included in your response! it definitely gives me a lot to think about. Thanks again!

My family will be going on our 4th trip June 26-July 2nd and we are pretty excited. We are bringing my BIL and his son on their first ever trip.

Booked airfare today! Getting so excited! It's hard to plan DD's wardrobe without her finding out about the trip. But I'm determined to keep this a surprise!

Just got off the phone with Disney and found out that the Disney Early Morning Magic with breakfast happens on 3 days of my trip. Tue June 14, Sat June 18th, and Tue June 21st. Maybe I should avoid MK those mornings. Do we have an idea of how many people will be in line at Seven Dwarfs ride when rope drop happens for us normal paying guests?

This is disheartening news to have to now pay attention to those dates as well! Wonder if they will make life more difficult for guests wanting to book an ADR at BOG just to get into the parks early for photo opportunities and get ahead of the crowds to jump on 7DMT.

No, but I will say that we went right back to 7DMT at rope drop last year (before the Morning Magic packages existed), and the line was huge by the time we got back there. And we walk fast.

This will affect 2 days of our planned MK days as well. I am hoping it's not a huge draw. Only 3 rides will be open so I am planning of FPing two of those and at rope drop we will head straight for tomorrow land one day and adventure land the next. Hoping to avoid the crowd that may already be in Fantasy land. We may just need to be a little flexible but I still think at rope drop it will be ok. It will be fun regardless! Can't beat the feeling I get watching the train come in and the singers as they prepare to open the park, it's my favorite part.

I think we're still going to go straight back to Peter Pan at rope drop and hope for the best. I'm not expecting the new event to impact that much at all.

This is happening during 2 days of our upcoming trip -- one of those days is our rope drop MK day. I considered rearranging our days to avoid these events (we aren't able to schedule FP until later this week) but because of other things that are already scheduled that are difficult or impossible to change (dinner ADR at CRT, Illuminations Cruise, etc), it was just going to be too much of a pain to rearrange things at this point. After I thought about it for a day or two, I'm not overly concerned. We usually head to Adverturland/Frontierland at rope drop and use FP for 7DMT and PP for later in the day so I don't think this will have much of an effect on us. There will probably be a slightly longer wait for 7DMT at rope drop now -- but I can't imagine it will be more than a 10-15 minute delay. And that's assuming every person who attends the early morning event gets in line for 7DMT right before the rope drop crowd arrives there.

I know a few Disney Bloggers have said they're going to the early morning magic event the first week it's offered, so I'm sure once they've experienced it and write about it, we'll have a much better idea of what kind of an impact these events have on rope drop. FWIW, it doesn't look like any of the current dates are sold out yet.

I haven't had as much time to plan this go around, but we are headed "home" June 1-9th! We are renting points and staying at BLT as we've outgrown our go to resort-POR. WL and POR are much more our style, so I'm kinda apprehensive that everyone will like the contemporary vibe...but hey, it's Disney, what's not to like!? Anyway, it'll be me, DH, DD(15), DS(13) and my mom. I started my count down at 444 days, so the fact that it's now at 57 is nuts to me. I'm starting to freak out...but in a good way :P!

Here is what I have so far...

Somewhat loose plans as of right now and I'll probably have to leave it that way. I can see the kiddos wanting more pool/down time. I'm trying to go with the flow this time opposed to the commando style we usually do! If anyone has any suggestions or sees a flaw in my plan, please let me know! Can't wait!! :figment:

Thanks!!
I like that you are beginning and ending your stay in Magic Kingdom!

Booked my FPs last night. I got everything I wanted, besides Illuminations on 6/22 and 7DMT on 6/17. I wasn't that happy with some of the times I had to pick from, however.

Then...

I logged in this morning and was able to tweak the majority of them to exactly where I wanted them. I'm wondering if the smaller selection pool last night was because MK didn't close until 1:00. A CM on chat yesterday told me that could possibly happen.

Most of my days are set how I want them now, and I'll keep checking back for Illuminations on the 22nd (as well as Soarin', Frozen, etc.). Other than that, maybe some little tweaks, but I'm done!
