The *OFFICIAL JUNE 2011 THREAD* "Some Like it Hot" & Some Like it Even Hotter! Part 2

Got back yesterday. Came home to a burst pipe in our basement so for all those who are leaving soon, TURN OFF YOUR WATER before you go. It doesn't hurt, I learned the hard way.

But otherwise, we had a great trip. The weather was perfect, just rained one day for us and we were at Kennedy Space Center indoors so we didn't get wet. It was hot and the mister fan was the best thing ever invented. We stayed at the Poly and I loved it, beautiful. So great for going to the Magic Kingdom. We spent a couple of days in the park in the afternoon and then I couldn't take it anymore so we came back to use the pool and went back in the evenings.

Best piece of advice is to go when the park opens. We rode Splash Mountain and Thundermountain twice within an hour and got fastpasses for the evening. I have to thank everyone on this board who posted that DHS opens early on SWW, we went on Friday and was there at 8 just as they were opening the park. We got fastpasses for TSM, signed the kids up for Jedi Academy and then walked onto Star tours and RNR and a 5 minute wait for TOT. Awesome, we took the rest of the day to stroll and pop into the less busy attractions. We didn't really do the characters too much as the kids did not want to wait on line in the heat.

Overall, great trip and going in June is totally doable if you have a plan. Thanks everyone for your advice and opinions on helping make this a great trip! Best wishes to those who are on their way!

I'm glad that you had a great time. Your plan seemed like it worked well. e are going to get up early and hit RD most mornings. I think that is what works best especially with our little ones. Thanks for letting us know how your trip went.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother. As a person that has lost three family members in 1 1/2 years, I know how extremely difficult it can be even when you know they are sick. Please know my thoughts are with you.

We only have a week to go and we get the vacation we deserve. This next 7 days until we can leave is going to be the longest.

I really like doing the thread so I am glad that you like it! It is a lot of work juggling things but I love to have an outlet at the end of the day.

Tried to post earlier but didn't finish. Today was our first full day here. Just perfect...almost. We made MK at 8am EMH...sorta. Some of us (me) had to walk back at 7:45am with a kid because somebody (me) didn't have his ticket. All in all echo everyone else here, weather is really really nice in morning thru early afternoon. Between 8:15am and 12:15pm we rode Space Mt 2 times, PoTC, BTMRR, explored Tom's IslaNd and did Haunted Mansion (scenic side which was.cool) and all were 20 min or less waits to walk ons. We only left because we were hungry...heat still wasn't that bad. Spent 3 hours at the pool. Perfect day. Everyone is asleep and. I am sitting on the blcony typing on my phone after watching firewroks from here. Tomorrow is a 7am departure for USIOA. Just learned they are celebrating a year of Harry Potter opening there as of Sat so hope it isnt crazy tomorrow and Sat is the other park there.

I think I mentioned this but we did theme park view from the Contemporary back in March for two nights and it was so wonderful. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it.

I can't wait to see the new que for HM. They were working on it when we were there last so we're pretty excited. The hitchhiking ghosts are back right?

Greetings from the Poly tonight. Waiting for our dinner ressie at Kona. Spent a full day at IOA today and man was it HOT! We were there from 8am park opening til 4:30pm and spent the first 4 hours in HP World. I try to tweet frequently with pics..I am disneyholic if u want to follow. I'm trying to gravely injure myself before we go... frustrating! :lol

First I sprain my toe, then today at the dog park I had 3 dogs (mine included) literally swipe my legs out from under me and I landed hard on my bum! I'm so sore!
