Makes total sense! I think if we plan to leave around 4:30pm from GF that gives us a cushion of time if we need more of a break. We are planning a morning at DHS with lunch at H&V - I think we are going to leave after lunch and get some rest. I'd love to get to AK in time for the 5pm dance party in Dinoland or to meet some of the characters who are around after 5pm. We'll see if we actually accomplish those things! If DD3 needs more of a nap to have a successful time :good vibes at Harambe Nights - a longer nap it will be!

We are going june 26 to July 3rd, But I am considering modifying, I read that first week in July is really really busy. So maybe bumping up to June 24 to July 1 or so. Do any of you have experience with the first week in july right before the fourth? I would appreciate advice
Our daughter is a wheelchair user so the more crowded the harder it is for her.

I don't have any experience with the first week of July because we have never been that week. Hope someone can answer your question about that week.

Simba doesn't meet anywhere that I know of... I just included him because of Harambe Nights and the Lion King experience. It seems that there are some out until 30 minutes before park closing - those are the ones we are planning to hit before the party!
According to KtP:
King Louie and Baloo until 5:30pm

Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Dug & Russel, Goofy & Pluto, Mickey & Minnie - until 30 minutes before closing

Pocahontas - 8pm? That seems late to me... maybe 30 minutes before closing too?

Does anyone know what is up with the lack of FP for fireworks on July 3rd and 4th? Are they not doing it for 4th of july fireworks? I couldn't get a dessert party ADR (argh.. last minute ish trip and no availability for a party of just 1! or any other number...)

Here is what we ended up doing for our countdown calendar! I am actually very happy with how it turned out.

We have Frozen in prominent locations. The start of the countdown is Anna, our first day of summer vacation is Olaf (ironic), Stefan and Christoff near the middle of the countdown and as per my DD's request, Elsa is our Leave for Disney Day! So excited to have our countdown up. It officially starts on Thursday!

I tried today to add a day in the beginning of our stay but nothing was available at the contemporary, so Im going to keep trying so we can move our check out date to July 1 ...just try to avoid the crowds for the fourth....maybe I shouldn't be to worried about the crowds but hopefully someone will have some experience with first week of july?? anybody??

It is really busy, but after you've been there Christmas week, it's not that bad at all.

I just found out the TTA will be closed for all of July So sad!!! This happened during the summer a few years ago as well! What do they need to keep doing to it!?

I read in the news forum that it is closed because of refurbishments to the Astro Orbiter. I guess every time they refurbish a ride that TTA passes through it has to close as well. Sad for me too. It's one of my favorite rides I remember from when I was a kid.

I can't imagine not hopping! We have to take a break in the day during the summer so we might as well mix it up and go back to a different park. Plus, we like hopping over to Epcot for food. I swear my family would starve if we stayed all day in the Studios- we just haven't had great food experiences there. Also, if you miss fireworks on one night you always have the option of going back another night. Plus, we have a tradition- on our last full day of vacation we visit all four parks to hit our favorites, get our favorite snacks and pick up any souvenirs we can't stop thinking about.

We always park hop. It makes it easier to plan ADR's & I can't imagine staying in one park all day.
