*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

I think you hit the nail on the head....it's going to be "if" things are available. I would assume that it will be like fast pass - in that passes will be gone for major attractions very early in the day (TSMM for example). This will probably make more people grab fast passes for rides like Great Movie Ride or Muppet Vision masking those stand by lines longer. Guess will see as people start reporting back. Glad they are allowing for more flexibility, but wish we could schedule from the app instead of heading to a kiosk.

A lot of my FP+ plans are for the morning since that's when we go on rides. We always take a break shortly after lunch and sometimes we don't even go back to the park. We only go back if we have a dinner ADR. So, there will be one MK day we don't even return there, and one DHS day we don't return there. The second day at each of those parks we have a dinner ADR, and we always eat dinner at Epcot on days we visit there because we love the different countries, and it's also so convenient from BWV. MK requires the bus and takes longer to get there than the quick walk to Epcot, the slightly longer walk to DHS or the boat ride (though we prefer to just walk). I just hope the standby lines are still ok in the morning for certain attractions. I use touringplans.com to plan our park days, so I guess I'll keep updating our plan and see how wait times are affected by the new system. I'm sure we will see tons of posts regarding the new changes all week. It will be interesting to see hoe everything is in June, when a lot of the country is out of school already so the crowds get larger. I think that will predict things much better for us July tourists.

Teacher here as well! :good vibes What grade are you switching to? I teach 5th grade - 11 years in the same grade and I just can't seem to graduate to 6th grade! :rotfl:
I teach 6th grade and love it. Spring gets pretty crazy with them, but it's fun!

Mmm, root beer floats! Sounds like a plan - looking forward to it!

Don't Dole Whips come in Orange as well.. not just Pineapple? I know last time I had Pineapple. It was good but overpowering, so I got a pineapple/orange twist. That was delicious!

If they have the Orange.... try it. They really are soooo refreshing. :)

*starts drooling*

That would be awesomely yummy! But I thought it was only pineapple and vanilla twist?

Just checked the menu at Aloha Isle. They have Pineapple, Orange, and Vanilla.

I guess the "official" dole whip flavor is Pineapple. But, my DH and I loved the Pineapple/Orange twist. :)

We have had a bit of a crazy week here. Tuesday my mom called me and said she had severe abdominal pains, went to the er, they told her she had a kidney stone. This was somewhat weird because kidney stones typically hurt in your back, not just below your ribs on the right side. But doctors know best right? So we went with what they said, she drank a lot of water and took the pain meds they gave her to get through. By Friday morning she was hurting even more, still in the same spot, and said she hadn't passed anything so she went to her regular dr. Her regular dr said it didn't sound like kidney stones and referred her to a urologist just to be safe. The urologist saw her that day, said she didn't have a kidney stone, never did, and that her pancreas was extremely inflamed. He immediately sent her to Highland hospital to speak with a surgeon. They did a CT scan there, and she was admitted that day to the hospital. The surgeon at Highland said that her pancreas was so infected and swollen that he was classifying her as having septic, acute pancreatitis because her pancreas was actually poisoning her other organs around it. She was immediately put on an IV line with pain meds, antibiotic, potassium, and fluids. She told the surgeon that she had planned on toughing it out through the weekend, but had been convinced by other people that she needed to go in. The surgeon told her she could have died had she waited until Monday. So they began ultrasounds, more CT scans, and blood testing to find out what caused this. Typically your pancreas swelling and getting infected is caused by a hard hit to the stomach, alcoholism, gallbladder infection, or appendix infection. My mom is not an alcoholic, and wasn't hit in the stomach, so they tested her for the gallbladder and appendix. Both which came back negative for problems today, along with all of her other organs. So for now they are keeping her admitted and just pumping antibiotics in to cure the infection in her pancreas. They talked about doing surgery in the beginning to remove her pancreas, but removing it is completely life changing so they wanted to try the antibiotic route first. It seems to be helping, they're going to continue monitoring her, as well as running additional tests to try and find a cause for it. The good news is that the doctor is now saying he expects her to make a full recovery, it will just take a little bit to get things back in order, and that surgery is off the table for now at least. So we're just praying that things continue to improve and that she can come home soon!

Also this weekend, all 4 of my sons fish died. We thought they were sick, but it turns out that's not it.... it was me.... I cleaned out their tank, and noticed it was really dirty so I completely emptied it and scrubbed the sides with soap and water, also used a window cleaner. Please.... don't laugh at me. I didn't know any better. Turns out this is REALLY bad because it gets rid of the good bacteria that the fish need that's attached to the plastic sides, and the windex got back into the water once I filled it back up and probably poisoned them. If that wasn't bad enough, I filled the water back up in it and immediately put the fish back in. Again, please don't judge me, I didn't know, I've never cleaned it before.... But needless to say, they were all dead in the morning. Either from being shocked from being immediately put in untreated tap water that was probably too cold, or from windex poisoning. I will go to the grave with this and will never tell my son that I killed his fish on accident.

I'm entering finals week soon, and I am stressed out enough by things at home so I'm not real sure how this is going to turn out. I guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best....

It's my understanding that they come in orange as well but I'm not a fan of orange flavors so I've not tried it. Maybe I'll make my wife get it so I can try. :lmao: Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm so sorry about what your mom is going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you that she makes a speedy and full recovery. Thank goodness she got into the hospital on time for meds.

I'm also sorry about the fish...but you didn't know. I wouldn't have known either, my DH always takes care of the fish tank. I don't know the first thing about it. Growing up my dad always took care of it. You'd think by now I would know but I don't. Don't beat yourself up over this, you have also had a lot going on the last few days.

My favorite on a hot July day is the float with pineapple/vanilla swirl. DS9 loves that too. DH just gets a cup with straight pineapple. DS7 (he will be 7 on Thursday!) gets a cup of vanilla. At Dutch Wonderland in the Fall, I get the pineapple vanilla swirl either in a cup or on a cone. It's usually really cool outside but I still will have a dole whip when I can get it! If we manage to get to Dutch Wonderland in the summer too, I get the same float I get at MK.

Dutch Wonderland has them too? Of course, I don't go there because we don't have kids. They don't happen to sell them outside of the park do they? :lmao:

They are inside the park. They've been there a couple of years now. I wish they also had them outside the park!

The trip reports board is dangerous! I was reading about the Keys to the Kingdom tour and decided to book it for our trip. I wanted to do it last time but the boys were younger so I'd have to go by myself. Now my husband and I can go on the tour and my boys are 16, 14 and 11 so they will have fun touring together. I am so excited!:yay:

Tonight I'm staying up to do my FP+ options. Hope that goes well.

When I think that two months from today we will be at WDW I can't stand it! I am doing the happy dance!
